Been having pretty decent battery life (coming from GNex), but I had my phone unplugged last night while I was sleeping and the battery drained 13% in 7 hours. I have battery stats plus installed and I keep seeing that LG VPN is hogging over 30% of the battery. Does anybody know why or what this does?
Thanks
Seems that this includes a lot of different processes listed underneath it, but this is killing my idle battery.
My G2 is listing the same thing and it is draining my battery considerably fast. I've uninstalled it through Titanium Backup, so I'll see if that has a positive effect.
I'm having the exact same problem. Rebooting doesn't help. It's used 22% of my battery over the course of 9 hours. LG what the hell? I don't even have LG VPN enabled. Still looking for a solution...

Like most of my fellow XDAers, I've been struggling with battery management issues. What apps to install, CPU hogs and all that jazz.
However, while I've been very pleased with the battery life I was getting from my U8800, I saw several guys complaining of horrible battery performance. I thought that they were just 'doing it wrong'...
I now wonder...
Since November I started noticing strange battery issues. Very fast draining, misleading battery readouts... I wiped my device, flashed it with pretty much all roms (custom and official) available but my battery kept screwing me. And its been worse as time gone by! I now hardly get 8 hours with at most 1 hour of usage.
I'm now posting this after calibrating my battery 4 times the day before and the first time I used our today my battery life went from 100% to 82% in less than 5 minutes! CPU spy reports 85% of deep sleep. Better battery stats has hardly anything logged. I already ordered a new battery but if this keeps going on...
Thoughts?

Why did you calibrate 4 times? How did you calibrate it?
Charge it to full, calibrate battery using app/recovery/deleting batterystats.bin, leave it to totally discharge, fully charge. It is not calibrated until you go through a couple of charge/discharge cycles.
I am running CM10.1.3.1 with the nitest 7/20/2013 kernel and FC19 modem, on an Onite 1900 mAH battery.
I used many of the tips in this post;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2357417
10 hours overnight with minimal usage, my battery now drops to 78% and shows 4 days 15 hours of similar usage before the battery will be drained fully. I've never, since buying the phone new, had better than 26 hours of stand-by time show up with a fully charged battery. I'm now showing 5 days.
Of course, screen usage is still the big impact, so actually using the phone drains it just as fast, but it is nice to know that, if I am not using it, I don't have to keep it plugged in all the time now.
I could be completely wrong about this but...
Have you been rebooting your phone? From what I've read rebooting the phone can throw off the battery stats. Basically the battery storage and usage is all the same its just the reporting thats off. I'm guessing battery stats get readjusted over time if the phone remains powered on.
Hi all,
I've flashed KitKat yesterday, and charged it fully overnight. (Full clean flash with wugs toolkit)
Today I did nothing with it from 8 o-clock to 18 o-clock. Battery went down to 55% percent in that time (used to be like 86 on 4.3).
"Phone idle" is at the top of the processes.
Is this a one-off. Is this the battery calibrating itself?
Phone was on 3g/2g all day and has semaphore kernel installed. Which should be awesome in terms of battery.
Thanks

any rom will use more battery the first 2 battery cycles. its when all the background syncing with google services happens. and battery life has more to do with your personal setup, your personal use, and the quality of signal you have than with anything else.

Allright thanks.
Weird thing is that it never happened when i installed pa again. 50% down is a lot for a phone that's just sitting there.
But i'll see tomorrow, installed bbs just to monitor it
I changed from Note 3 to s 6 edge plus recently
The battery drops 5% per hour overnight when not in use. If I go to bed with less than 40% battery at night I am sure to wake up with my phone switched off in the morning.
When in use with screen on, the battery drips one percent every two minutes. This is the worst battery life I have ever seen in a phone. I was a long loyal customer of samsung and this is my last samsung phone ever.
Extremely disappointed
Please post your battery stats ? so we can have a better understanding of your problem. I suggest you install 'Doze' which should stop unnecessary apps from connecting to the internet and causing your phone to awake from deep sleep.
Dear Akbar 11
Heres the battery stats....is it normal?
I had the same issue, and as far as I managed to find out, it is a bug in Samsung's kernel. Flashing Arter97 kernel solved the issue for, but do post battery stats from SmartManager. If it says 'Android' or 'Android OS', then you have the same problem many of us do.
I don't think it's a kernel problem. My android OS is very low 4%. Like zoolok said post your battery stats from settings, battery, battery usage
I have the same problem. Battery was great before I flash custom rom. After going back to stock I have big battery draining. I must stay on custom rom. With Audax rom and Skyhigh kernel i have great battery life.
You have either messed up something big or you have an app in the background that is eating up your battery like no tomorrow.
And the reason i say that is because i recently got this battery life on my Galaxy S6 edge+.
And this was taken 2 days ago.
Here i use the CRISSCROSS ROM, AudaxPro Kernel, Greeinify and Samsung's own 'Appoptimizing' feature (same as Doze in Android 6.0).
So my battery life is pretty awesome.
i have problem whit battery lose 25% when i sleep
This is a usual day with s6 edge plus
Any help?

i have this problem battery ... if u fixed it tell me how?
Well I was expecting Google Play Services to be eating your battery (which is quite common) but it looks like your Andriod OS is eating the most battery. I would uninstall Facebook and use the web version it always helps with the ram and battery furthermore, turn off location if you are not using it and check accounts which are being synced. These are the only tips I can give you as I have never seen Android OS drain so much battery.
Since a few days Google Play Store is eating up my battery: I go to sleep with 100% batt and wake up with 50%, if I check batt stats on top I have play store at 45%, with 5h active a d 2h of CPU.
Follows Android system at 5%.
Going crazy why...

You've charged your phone 4 times during that day. I can't see what's the interesting part here.
Battery Drain
I have the Indian G6 with quad dac and its been 6 months since i own this and im facing huge battety drain. Earlier i used to get 5 hrs of SOT and now i barely reach the 3 hrs SOT mark. Even the charger got damaged and It lost the fast charging capability and charges slowly. I performed a factory reset but still its the same. I dont know what could be the reason but my charging habits were bad. I would charge the phone always at 0% or 5% and I would use the phone while charging but i followed this only since 2 months. I dont think this wouldve degraded the battery so quickly but i dont follow that anymore and charge the phone at 15% or 20% and uptill 90%. I still have warranty left and will they change the battery? Is anyone facing similar problem? Please help me sort out this issue because If nothing else works im considering selling this phone as soon as possible. Thank you.
If you go to Settings > Battery > what apps does it show that are causing your battery drain?
Battery usually has a 6mo warranty of I'm not mistaken

I used Samsung browser before and it drained 16% so I uninstalled that and I use Youtube Vanced which is using 14% now...but even without these apps I still see drainage. It was so bad earlier that I got only around 2.5 to 3hrs of SOT and after a factory reset saw around 4 hrs of SOT..but I have to charge the battery by late evening compared to previously where i would charge at night.
