Pressy will it work for note 3? - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/556341540/pressy-the-almighty-android-button

I would use this to free ram from task manager with one click how cool would that be what would you use yours to do?

either nobody is imterested or they all have one on order lol

I have a green Kickstarter Edition of Pressy on order. It won't ship for a few months still. But yes I don't see any reason it wouldn't work its designed to work with the app they are writing for it.

Green one here too.
I don't know how I'll use mine, I backed them up because it was a good idea

Will work
Hey jutley, RaptorMD and IIIPowerIII, thanks for backing our project! The kickstarter edition is gonna be awesome
About your question - yes, Pressy will work on the note 3.
Geva Tal,
Pressy Team.

I've backed as well. Great idea.
I would use mine for
Task killer
Discreet camera
Shortcut to group me app for work
And to keep lint and junk out of my headphone jack since I NEVER use the jack. I use Bluetooth headphones
And other uses
Great idea !!

Just commenting to say I backed as well.. Can't wait for it to come out.
I will probably mostly use it to open the camera app

Its really an innovative solution that will allow for some many different functions. I know I will set one "pressy" function to call my wife so I don't have to set a speed dial.

I have a black one on order. Probably going to use it to turn on torch and camera.

So its time for a lil bump
Who received their pressy?
I love mine, the quality is great. I don't have any issue at all on my Nexus 5, Galaxy S5 and Note 3. Everything work perfectly.

New note man...haha. Any S pen Ideas

So i just got my note yesterday. Have not touched my transformer tablet since...lol. Thats a biggie considering i never put it down usually.
Anyway, i love the s pen amongst other things. I find myself using it quite a lot even just to navigate around and interacting with the general U.I.
I was wondering however...are there any other specific apps and games out there made for the s pen? I assume you guys would know. Any advice is welcome.
Thanks.

You have an app in the Drawer called S Choice. It will send you to Samsung Apps, but specifically to S-Pen apps. Hope I helped !

Idk I've been struggling to find uses for it. I've had my Note for 2 days now and I mostly like it. But the stylus just seems like an added bonus that isnt too integrated. The only thing I've been using it for is S Memo, which freezes up sometimes Any suggestions would be appreciated

I really like Zen Brush.
It behaves like a caligraphy brush.
It's in the S-choice suite.
I also find the S-pen very useful for inputting calendar items.
Press and hold on your start time and draw down to the end time and release.
It automatically enters these in a new item.
Saves lots of time and sh#ts all over simple multitouch for speed and ease of use.
Really people? No one mentions "Draw Something". The S-Pen is PERFECT for this kind of game, and my friends are pissed at me when we're playing since i have a freaking pen to draw with

I have to say I am on my second week with my note and still no legitimate use for the s-pen.. I even got draw something and it still just doesn't help all that much with that app. I also havnt been happy with how I've had to restart my note 3 times today for various reasons
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
Well after almost 2 weeks it seems my use of the s pen has gone down quite a bit. I only use it for specific games here and there.
Its a nice alternative and that's pretty much it I guess. I can't really draw well on paper let alone with the pen so that's a shame. But it is very responsive and accurate.

I actually use the s-pen quite a lot, especially at work to take notes. Very handy to have all my notes with me at all times and by tagging them and creating a folder structure it's easy to find them back.

+1 - the S Pen is great at work - i used to use a note pad all the times, but now i can take note on the, well, Note!
In my line of work i mark-up building drawings plans, where i used to carry around a A3 clipboard and paper copy of the plan. Not now, drawings to PDF and away i go on the phone! Very pleased. Once day i could even convice my boss to purchase a Note 10.1 for the very same reason....

[APP] Tablet Talk - anyone use it?

So I found this app called tablet talk which is supposed to sync your phone to your tablet via WiFi and it uses your mobile phone number, so you can send text messages and see missed calls, etc. from your tablet..... has anyone used this app, or maybe something similar? If so, how does it work? Is it worth the money? If this is something that works flawlessly, then I can see it is a must-have for a user like me who would love to be able to receive and send text messages from my tablet. Just wanted some opinions on this app, or something similar. So far this is the only app that I have found that can do this.

Brilliant app, I used it all the time before I sent my nexus back. It connects via Bluetooth or wifi, but i always used bluetooth, it was easier to connect. Text messages show up just like they do on your phone, definitely work the money
Just use the free 15 quid credit that came with your nexus.

Yep. Love this app as well. Great for in car as well. Now I don't have to have both my tab and my phone mounted to my windshield. Just my tab and tablet talk....text messages and answering calls (Bluetooth headset of course)

Using it as well, very handy app. Between that and Groove IP, I generally don't mess with my phone when I'm at home.
Just as everybody else has said, it is worth the purchase. I usually throw my phone in my room and carry the N7 around with me when I'm home so it's nice getting texts and calls sent to the N7 that would have been missed.
Funny seeing this post, cause not to long ago i posted looking for an app like this and someone referred it to me....LOVE this App and use it everyday....you can also accept calls if you have a bluetooth headset paired....its awesome and would refer it to anyone looking to basically use theyre phone features on theyre tablet....

Thank you everyone for the replies. I did end up purchasing this app today and have used it quite a bit just for texting so far. Don't own a Bluetooth headset so I probably won't use it for calls, but its definitely convenient to not have to have both my phone and the tablet next to me npw,. I love being able to received my text messages on my tablet. Showed it to a friend and they really want it now too, but the problem is they have an iPad and a Samsung s3, so I don't know if there is an app that is cross-compatible. If anyone knows of one I'm sure they would appreciate it if you could let me know. Thanks again everyone

You done need to use a Bluetooth headset unless you are in public. Otherwise you can just put it on speaker phone.

Trying to Decide

I'm trying to decide between getting the Pebble, i'm Watch, Agent, or Kreyos Meteor. Which of these do you personally like the best?
Wait for the samsung gear? Should be announced September 4th.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
Kreyeos Meteor smart watch looks like the best option right now.
They're all good for certain purposes. I personally backed the Kreyos because it was waterproof and has a speaker + mic.
What's the key decision criteria one should be looking for when evaluating these watches?

Your needs/wants, and whether the watch fulfills them.
I guess what I'd want in a watch...

A few features I'd like to see:
- A virtual security tether to let me know when I'm walking away or forgetting a phone / tablet and to bypass lockscreens
- reminders and basics that I don't even need to open my phone for
- profile management to advise my of locations and what my wifi devices are doing (what Android profiles they are on)
- health and fitness.... not so much but ok I get that this would be the best device to record my movement or how much I'm stuffing my face at meals...

It Blaster

I can find nothing on the ir blaster. I am using the Samsung Verizon Note 3. This is supposed to be a feature of the phone. Did Version block it out am I just not finding it?

Look for an app, perhaps in the Samsung folder called WatchON?
Yes, WatchOn is the stock app for using the IR Blaster. After setup it will let you control your devices with a remote icon in the top right corner of the screen.
If you look up top your phone and see a little black dot in the right side you have the ir blaster but I wouldn't recommend the watch on app, look up for the Smart IT Remote Samsung/HTC app on the play store it's just worth it, i have configured more than ten controls and controls like my DISH one aren't supported by the watch on app
Sent from my SM-N900 using xda app-developers app
Great advice, Thank you.
I couldn't find it because I disabled watch on when I first got my phone because I didn't know what it was. Next time I won't be so stupid.
Sent from my SM-N900V using xda app-developers app
Yea, you need to use WatchON or a different app.
I ditched WatchON, as it kept running even if I didnt use it. (also, the puns were starting to become too irritating.)
Plus it only works for tv, and the media guide only works in the US. Where at least 750 million of us are not.
Swapped it for this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.remotefairy
This controls everything with an IR reciever, even my DSLR and the lights.

need an app for tasks with days counter

i'm looking for an app where i can display a list of tasks and beside it, it would list the number of days since i have last done it. For example, oil change 183 days ago or 20 days since i last paid my credit card. and if i click on it, it would reset the timer to 0 days. is there such an app?
I'm sure there is something similar, but I have not seen it.
And I like the app idea. :good:
Well as it just happens, I'm building an app that might do for you.
In case if you're interested, you can check the build version and give feedback. Knowing that i'll have someone who'll use it in advance will motivate me to publish it quicker.
This version works quite well, tested on Galaxy S2 and S4, help and about sections are still missing, also some UI tweaks and you might step on occasional bug, but so far it works for me very well.
EDIT: removed old links, since the application in question from my side has been published officially:
it's available on google play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...sapps.ncounter
also, xda thread is available here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2661195
Sorry I havent checked back. Wow thats exactly what I'm looking for so far. I'll have to try it out for a bit first but it seems to be quite customizable. Only thing I can think of atm is allowing a task to change background color if a certain amount of time is reached. Say after 25 days if I still havent paid my bill, it turns yellow
Sent from my SGH-I337M using xda app-developers app
I stumbled upon this app the other day it would probably help you. It's called Quixey, it's basically a search engine for apps that works off natural language descriptions. Describe what you want and it lists the most relevant result. It actually works pretty well.
