To increase volume, press the top portion of the volume rocker (found on left hand-side of the phone).
Try and see if viperfx will work, assuming you rooted it already

I can't thank u enough for teaching me this valuable thing that I never knew before....how I would've guessed that this long rocker is the volume key

Use Diceplayer, it has a 400% volume boost.
Or just use headphones and stop bothering the rest of the public

Hello everyone...
Was just curious if anyone knew of a way to boost the volume coming from the ear piece on this phone? I have the I9000M.....
I have some hearing loss and find that the volume is a tad too low and I am constantly having to ask people to repeat themselves.... before you say it... yesssss, I have used the volume button...
I was reading the thread on the using the service mode app to change the ear phone audio... thought there might be something in there...
Thanks for your help in advance.

Anyone else think the volume of the external speaker is too low. I litterally struggle to have a speakphone conversation and watching media is disappointing.
Could it just be my phone hardware and needs to be exchanged for a new unit?

I have the same problem. The speaker volume is quite low, especially compared to the headphone volume.
Yes, very low. That has been a little disappointment to me.
Same for me. Do the last update solve this problem?

Solution!
Hey!
Cut a long story short, I Bought my neuxs s and was very disappointed with the volume level especially on the headset.
I looked round for 2 weeks for a solution, found one!
INSTALL A KERNEL WHICH SUPPORTS VOODOO SOUND CONTROL!
The sound volume is now VERY loud!
Here is a link to a hybrid kernel, half stock, half Cyanogenmod with Voodoo sound & colour control! its outta this world

Voodoo requires a custom kernel, but it doesn't increase the volume anyway.
But I think it's loud enough, and who watches a movie on their phone?

install volume (+) sound boost works like a charm really....
great improvement in sound after this,,..and no rooting required even..
Hold down volume down and power button for a couple of seconds...but for me it doesn't work! Any suggestions?
Not trying to be rude but if holding down both the Power and Volume - buttons doesn't work for you....then you aren't doing it correctly.
Both buttons, pressed simultaneously and held, will result in a screen shot. You'll hear it and see the image scale down as if to show you the photo "screen shot" then fade away with a notification noting that a screenshot was captured.
Stock ROM, stock everything.....this works on ICS and JB and the Nexus is JB. Works on my Xoom (ICS and JB), my Droid 4 (ICS) and my Nexus 10 (JB).
Uhm... Don't know... I watched videos on YouTube... And act the same with my Nexus 10,without any results. I will try again...

Just remember Volume - is right next to the Power button and you'll have to hold them down for about 2-3 seconds.

You have to hold the volume button depressed on the upper end (towards the power button) in vertical tablet orientation and not try to rock it down or away from the power button.
Push the power button slightly before the volume down button, then hold them. If you hit volume first you will just change the volume instead of getting a screenshot.
lol a few weird and over complicated instructions..
Firstly make sure you know which side volume down is on the volume rocker. Then press and hold both that and the power button at the same time. Two seconds later a screenshot will be produced.
Since that key combination causes my nexus 10 with Android 4.3 to reboot odds are good that they changed something.
And tcrews you can say all you want about not wanting to be rude, but that reply is rude. Your answer could easily have been worded otherwise, but starting like you did causes you to come across as rude.

Hold volume up to skip track while screen is off? I know also has it but I'm wanting a touchwiz room for now.
I've tried a few but it appears this mod doesn't exist on our device yet.

Why not just get some nice earbuds with playback controls? I got some black OEM Samsung earbuds with 3 button playback controls (and mic), great sound too. Earbuds in ear plugged into phone, phone in my messenger bag little crevice on the side and all i do is double tap "play" button on earbuds to skip track or play/pause and volume up and down to change volume. Never have to reach for phone to do anything.
The only ROMS i've ever seen with what you're looking for were CM and AOKP ROMS, no TWiz..

Must have missed it, then. When i had the S3 (a while ago now) i only saw it on AOKP.
I think what devoured said is your best bet. When i had Xposed it didn't quite work though. Although it did start up stock music player.
My Klipsch Image S4A2 headphones have an app that does things like this. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.outsidesource.klipschcontrol
