Hello, my Optimus L5 has been giving me this error message ever since I bought it: "Not enough sorage available" (or something like that).
However, on my internal memory I have 1.65Gb free, and it sometimes doesn't let me install a 500Kb app, even if I uninstall a 30Mb game.
Does anyone else have this problem?
Oh, and I'm running Nova Launcher premium on a rooted stock 4.1 ROM.
P.S.: Is it possible to move apps to my 16Gb esxternal SD card?

Hi,
I've recently purchased a Samsung Galaxy S, and have been massively pleased with it. When I first got it I had a look at the Samsung Apps application and noticed that the game came bundled with Asphalt 5 - needless to say I downloaded it and it worked perfectly.
However, I then rooted my phone (JG5 firmware + MoDaCo custom ROM) and tried to go through the same process. This time, however, I was confronted with an error:
"Asphalt5 could not be viewed. Free up some space on your phone and try again."
Any ideas what could be causing this? I installed a few apps on my phone, but I can't see how it can be a space issue. The game's about 50mb, I have 1.03GB remaining on my external SD, 5.50GB on my internal SD, and 1.70GB available on "Internal Phone Storage".
Any help is much appreciated!
Did you run the Modaco lag fix? It moves the storage space to the internal NAND memory, thereby limiting installation space to something like 130MB. Sounds like you've used that space...
I did yeah.. without really knowing what it was doing! Is there any way to undo the script?
Hi All,
Please bear with me: I've searched and found no clear answer.
When installing apps from the Market, a few errored out with an "out of space" error. When checking space, I still showed 75% remaining.
If I waited a bit, the app would install correctly.
Any idea what's going on, or how to correct it?
I have the option in apps manager to move any selected app to the SD card, but I hesitate to do so as I'm already running the whole show off the card (8-16G-so there's still plenty of space...)
I suspect that there's more in play here than available card space.
Any advice/input would be appreciated!
I'm an old-time DOS/Windows user, so Android/JAVA/Linux are still part of a learning experience.
Thanks,
Dan
Did you ever get an answer to this?
I am doing the same thing but with an 8GB card and the partitions seem to create as they are supposed to but if I install more than 2-3 apps it tells me I am out of space. I cannot get a solid answer as to which partition I need to resize to fix this.
Hey guys for some reason, everytime i try to install an app i get this insufficient storage available, yes i did check i have a gig a sdcard space left and like 200mb of space left on the device, any advice
Update jan92012
Ok so I'm currently running ICS which is way faster and smoother, however the problem has carried over from stock froyo, i still can't install apps from android market app I have to go into the browser and do it, still looking for answers
I recently rooted successfully a LG Optimus L7 (P700) with KDZ.
It Works fine. Is this stock or custom ROM?
I also installed successfully Link2SD in order to transfer all the apps to the SD.
It also worked fine and most part of the apps goes to the SDCard.
but when I try to install certain apps it gives the message "Insufficient Storage Available" although I have 2.3GB free ROM and 30GB SDCard.
I read about Lucky Patcher but it doesn't allow me to install it.
What can I do?
Insufficient Storage Available

Hasn't anyone solved the "Insufficient Storage Available" message?
Isn't there an expert who may know how to solve this?
Please help

I dont think app2sd will work, try something else like remountsd http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=40217460 or directorybind (im using ut right now.
Sent from my LG-P700 using Tapatalk 2
Old thread, i know...
Anyway: You can try this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.devasque.fmount&hl=de
It works for me.
My Motorola Defy unfortunately died but my sister kindly loaned me this Samsung Galaxy Y in the meantime until I get a new phone.
Unfortunately I have only been able to download and install one app "twitter". I try install other apps but it says: "Error while downloading "name of app" There is insufficient space on the device".
I know this phone doesn't have as much internal space as my old dead defy, but it does have 4GB on the SD Card so why does this message keep coming up?
Any ideas or suggestions on how I can fix this greatly appreciated. Surely this is not a design flaw? I can't imagine a company like Samsung making devices like this that don't even allow you to install any apps?

Apps are generally installed in internal memory (until or unless you have a ext partition in sd card where apps can be linked or transferred)
Installing apps in nothing to do with the size of sd card as internal memory is fixed. Around 190 mb but is alredy preoccupied by dalvik and all so it gets full soon...
You can install extra apps by creating ext partition in sd card and using apps like link2sd or s2e or others..
here refer to that thread or use search in devlopment section:
partitioning and Link2sd guide- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2142154
There are many more you can search them but follow the thread exactly as it shows how to partition sd card which is required
