It happens about twice a day. If I turn screen off and on it fixed the issue.
Two separate roms same issue.

Just got my phone yesterday, and I have yet to see the home button light up. Is there a setting I need to change, or does it only do it during certain times or functions?

it doesn't light up; if you look at it closely it's 100% solid opaque plastic.
Oh, ok. I guess in all the fuss about it being purple or not I assumed it was referring to the backlight of the button. Thanks for the info.

Go into developer options and enable "Show touches."
Oddly enough, even when the screen seems unresponsive the touches still show up. To me that says there is a software not hardware issue as the system does see and report the touches.
Anyone else? Any thoughts on my analysis of that information?

As soon as I post this the touches also start disappearing. Of course.

One last addition: I get dead spots when the tablet is laying on my bed, but if I pick it up with on hand it catches the touches. My old Dell latitude had and issue similar to this... it was a grounding problem if I recall correctly.

Question: Can you force the home/back keys to stay on screen at all times? Like say if you go into the camera the buttons disappear. Is there a way to force them to be on all the time?
Yeah mine are on all the time.

They don't disappear on mine. However on mine the icons turn into dots sometimes, like in the camera. Not sure why.

Buttons stay or go away based upon the app you are using. Camera...they stay on. Netflix or any other video, they go bye bye. Varies by app I believe
About an inch from the top of the screen in portrait orientation touch does not register for about a centimeter and then the rest of the screen is totally fine. Wtf?

Where it says update all. That whole area to the left and including the button doesn't respond. I put the visual touch thing on in the Dev settings and the dot skips if I drag over that area.

The purple dot on the side of the screen and half of the screen became weird today. Never seen it before. It is not effecting the touch or anything.
Thanks in advance.
