Those with touchscreen issues: try this (let's get some data) - Nexus 7 (2013) General

Go into developer options and enable "Show touches."
Oddly enough, even when the screen seems unresponsive the touches still show up. To me that says there is a software not hardware issue as the system does see and report the touches.
Anyone else? Any thoughts on my analysis of that information?

As soon as I post this the touches also start disappearing. Of course.

One last addition: I get dead spots when the tablet is laying on my bed, but if I pick it up with on hand it catches the touches. My old Dell latitude had and issue similar to this... it was a grounding problem if I recall correctly.

[Q] Screen Flickering & DPI mod

Had my Nexus 7 for 24 hours know & its amazing but the I've only just noticed that sometimes my screen flickers & I have to lock & unlocked my nexus 7 to stop it, is this due to the DPI mod I'm using to give me a TabletUI or is this a fault?
Thanks in advance
Seems like its a problem regarding tegra 3 devices. It should be fixed in a rom update eventually.

Take the brightness control out of Auto and see if it helps

Mine seems to flicker only when using Tapatalk. I haven't seen it do this on the home screen, browser or when playing games at all but every time I use tapatalk I see it at least once.
*edit* I also remember seeing it flicker when using the Facebook app.

I believe I found out what's causing it.. lol I am wearing a magnetic ring and when I touch near the bottom left on the back it turns the display off weird?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
So apparently its supossed to do that with magnets like in a case but works with my ring kinda cool.

Had the same problem. Used to fold the front of my case behind the tablet to use Kindle app for example then realised the magnets were causing the screen to lock. Was driving me nuts for a while and I was all ready to return the tablet to the store. All's well now though :good:

A very strange screen defect... :(

Whenever there is a certain shade of gray, there is a bunch of green pixels. I don't mind a whole lot but it's annoying. Is anyone else experiencing this? Fix??

It looks like you might have to return it.... not experiencing anything like that on mine and I had a few weird things happen here and there
Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA Premium HD app
I'm not going to return it unless something serious occurs. This doesn't really bother me unless I'm in the settings app or in poweramp.

Fair enough I guess.... how about reading in night mode?

Likely to only get worse.
Fixed!! I just flashed a new ROM and the problem went away
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Actually it was the kernel that did it. Trinity seven alpha 86. Great kernel but needs work

This happened to my first n7... my only fix was to exchange it.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Yeah but I lost my receipt so I don't know how I can exchange it now
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
If you purchased with a card, you can try asking the retailer to look up your receipt.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
It happens to me after watching YouTube, but a screen off/on everything back to normal.
I'll try that out but screen of things does not work actually can usually makes it worse

This *just* happened to me too. The device didn't fall, take a hit, or anything like that —*the navigation keys just stopped workning out of the blue. Everything else works perfectly, except the region over the soft keys. Is this really a hardware problem?
If even reinstall dont work.then call LG or rma from google

Someone tell me that using touch control is a reason. Is it true?
