Hello XDA PROS was wondering if anyone know of a good method or app to extend RAM. I have a rooted ATT GS4 I337 with a 32G SD card. My current looks like this

You don't need one.

What your're showing is normal. 2 Gb is what's allocated by android. You can't change that. You're usage is typical too. Android will try to use as much of the ram as it can. Unused ram is wasted ram.
I thought we all have swap .this is what I seen after OTA update

Hey all,
I just flashed stock firmware on my galaxy note 2 and found that task manager was showing 1.75 GB RAM instead of 2 GB.
I think it was 2 GB before but I ain't sure.
Is it normal ?

yes it is normal, some rams are reserved for camera and etc. Even 1.75gb is more than enough ;D
Hehe. Thanks anyway

Yes , it's normal.
Does anybody know if a custom ROM is capable of freeing up some of that 7GB that Samsung has locked up from us?

Nope.

As of now, no.
We need a dev to redo our partition layout in their Rom...than and only than will we gain or lose space according to how the new partition is done

This question comes up a lot but so far I haven't seen anyone begin to address it. My sense is that only after the custom ROMs start to stabilize will more research be put into how to change the partitioning and freeing up the space.
Custom ROMs such as CM take much less room than the stock Touchwiz.
I'm going to trade it for LG Optimus G Pro tomorrow. Is that a good trade?

Depends on if you like a larger screen. I did exactly that, and then switched to a s4 active, and I actually miss it. It is a super fast and has no lag at all. It also has wireless charging which was amazing.

I just switched today. I have no regrets save one...Roms

How much free space do you have on it? I know the s4 says 16g but really only 9 gigs due to all the other add-ons

yeah I have about 500-600 available, but you need to remember that the system will always want to use as much RAM as possible at the time and kill processes as more are started. Unused RAM is wasted RAM.

This sir, is how you respond to a post, couldn't have asked for a better answer, I'm far from a noob, but it makes sense that most of the available ram is used yet the system is pure butter, appreciate it.

Unused RAM in Linux/Android is wasted RAM, it's not like Windows where it means bad things
