Hi guys, recently got my note 3. Pressing the home button brings up an app which I assume to be flipboard, which cannot be uninstalled. Is there a way to bind the home button to another app?
I'm sure after rooting it you won't have a problem. But idk about stock. Maybe an app in the play store?

You can disable that by going to My Magazine settings.

If you are running cyanogenmod you can just disable them in the power menu when you hold down the powerbutton. I also see there's a few apps in the play store that are supposed to be doing what you want but I never used any of them so I can't comment on that. Search Google for something like "nexus 4 disable soft keys" and you will find a ton of information!
You can also install some xposed framework modules that allow hiding the navigation bar, like gravity box, for example.

Hi,
Look if you are rooted, then go for Paranoid ROM. It provides you with a feature like gestures for the buttons..
So, they only appear when you make a particular gesture!
Go on! Game oN!

This is what you want.
Auto hide softkeys
If you are rooted,
Just try Full screen app from play store.

isn't that more of a kernal option?
I honestly don't know but I want it badly

It is not a kernel option. You will need root, you will need to remove or freeze S-Voice and then use an xposed app (can't remember what) to change what launches with a double press.

Nottach Module will fix that. Install Xposed, then Nottach, and you're set.

Home2 Shortcut in the play store will also do that. Just make sure you disable Samsung voice whatever in the settings>app menu.

Do either of the apps above allow you to set any type of shortcut for the home button (long-press or double-tap)?
Some apps require that S-Voice is still enabled.

If Nottach is not working use wanam xposed module. Other way is to install Nova launcher and configure the option for home key binding.
I can't seem to get this launcher to stick.
I'm not rooted btw. Tia
It's been a while but I think the trick is to remove ALL of the widgets from the touchwiz screens. I fought with the same issue when moving from my Charge to the Note 3.
Edit: I'm still not rooted either.

does that include folders?
Can't say for sure. I deleted everything and started clean - no apps, no widgets, nothing. I think the widgets are all that matter since many of them are always "active".

Has any one else run I to this problem...cuz it's driving me nuts
Nothing?
I will be setting up my wife's Note 2 this weekend with ADW. Will keep notes as to what I had to do and will pass it along. I know it was the same issue with Charge and this beast.

Try long pressing the home button, then select task manager, then select clear defaults and then clear the default launcher. When you press the home screen again it will ask which launcher, select ADW and tap always.

Yep That will do it.

OT: I conversed with you over at the Charge forum. I got my Note3 last Wednesday, I'm in love and my wife's jealous. She got a S4 and is complaining about her battery running down.
On Topic: I'm using Next Launcher and didn't have any problems with it and my touchwiz setup.
My phone is rooted running xtrestolite with the Blaze kernel. When I'm in an app and I press the home key it just vibrates and doesn't close the app. Is anyone else having this issue?
