hi, yesterday I bought the note3, I as always used the backup with titanium backup on note2 without thinking that the 3 is not yet known root ...
Now I need to restore data from an app, how can solve?
ps I have already sold the notes 2
thanks
I am afraid that u can't without root ;(
If any have another opinion I would love to share the knowledge

Ever since I know of Helium backup, I found no need to root my phone anymore just for TB.

Hi
Just moved to Nexus 4 from rooted Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000.
On the old rooted GT-I9000, whenever I did a wipe and reinstalled new roms, simply a google sign in will pull down all my previously installed apps and most of my data. But when I got my Nexus 4 today with stock 4.3 rom, signing in just set up my google account but no apps nor data were being restored. What should I do? Did I miss something. This is a FABULOUS phone compared to my old one.
Tnx
Did you try titanium backup?

I got Titanium Backup Pro on my old phone, but isn't that required a rooted phone? In intend to use my Nexus 4 stock unrooted.
Just wondering why apps and data weren't automatically pushed to my phone like it used to on my old one.
I think Helium by Clockwork works without root, can you try it?

When you run the setup on the nexus 4 and sign in your Google account, there should've been the option to save the phone to your Google account and restore data
But now you could just use Helium (Carbon) backup

Hi Everyone
Just wondering what was the best way to transfer apps and settings from my Note 2 to a new Note 3?
TIA

Dont transfer apps..
Use for example Helium for backing up and restoring data. Does not need root.
Great thank you for the quick reply. Did wonder if to use TB or Helium / Carbon

Can you root your phone without wiping data? I'd love to root but dont want to start from scratch again.

The current method available wipe's your data. No way around it.
This is true but if you don't want to wipe there will probably be a method eventually

I am not so sure about that. The version we have does not trip the knox counter and with the bounty being paid, i am not sure anybody is actively looking at an alternative root method that doesn't require wiping. Some other variants of the device can be rooted with the same tool/method from designgears and not be wiped but the vzw version is not one of them for whatever reason.
I used Helium from the play store and was able to back up without root and then used it after rooting to restore app data.

Hello gents.
Currently I'm running Poland KK 4.4.2 and purchased from google play store specifically superSU pro, and what not. If I use a custom ROM let's say sweet rom or the new X-note, will my puchases be intact or do I have to purchase them again?

They will be intact as they're linked to your account not the device.

Awesome. Thanks!

Quick question,
I've recently installed SweetROM and I wanted my screen to look like the stock poland rom but when I restored my TB backups, an error keeps popping up like gapps has stopped and all other processes has stopped. Is there anything in the TB backup that I should just restore for that specific screen backup?

I have a bunch of app data backups (made on my Note 4 with Titanium) that I want to restore on the S7E. How can I restore those without having to root my new phone? Ive searched google and XDA and havent been able to find an answer.

Don't think you can. Do you still have the Note 4 in your possession? If so, you can make a backup using Helium and use Helium on the GS7 Edge to restore. I've been using Helium ever since I've stopped rooting my phones.
