just sent back my s3, cracking phone but went to orange from 3 ( who i have been with for about 7 years problem free) & there customer service is shocking , cant get the sat nav swappable , vioce command keeps saying network error & i cant call orange to talk to anyone as they put you on hold for ages, took me 3 days to get through , just glad im still in the cooling off period & rreturning it now, saved a 2 year contract , might just get it off 3 now

Orange are crap I agree they are the best at screwing up phones with there bloatware, I've been with them for over 10 years but on a business tariff so I now get through straight away.
Beware if you got with three I was going too until I found out as of the end of may three don't do phone insurance anymore.

they were just questions about a new phone i had purchased, i don't do gizmos & thought i would just ask on here as there were a lot of people on who knew what they were talking about, after all i thought that was the idea of these forums to pass on knowledge & if you don't ask you don't learn, obviously i was wrong as there's people like you who know it all, anyway i see from your profile that your a usa marine, i worked along side them many years ago when i was a engineer in the royal navy & if i remember correctly when i said “good morning “ to them they were stuck for a answer! so i fully understand why you get excited over a new screen protector, anyway thanks for your invaluable help & i think i will just leave it there! :laugh:
My SII past away I've sent him today for repair, the issue is that it was completely dead and I was unable to revert it to stock room ...
I hope Samsung will repair it and not claim with the warranty.
Has anyone past by a similar experience? What was the end outcome?

Depends on how dead your S2 is.
My S2 was running CM9 when it died. And when it died, it died totally. No response whatsoever, even when plugging in the USB charger. In this case, I believe Samsung has no way of knowing whether I was running a custom ROM or not.
In the end my S2 was replaced free of charge. I even got a free screen change (I pointed out the infamous bright band at the top due to uneven burn out), and a new battery. Props to Samsung. Apple would probably have wanted to rape my wife and sell my firstborn into slavery.

Mine was also really dead, also even the charger did not do anything. I hope my experience will be the same as yours. I just hope the fall down scratches will not put them in the position to say that this happen because of the fall down.

I should clarify that the motherboard was replaced. However seeing as they also changed the screen (confirmed due to the bright band at where the notification bar would be), I wonder why they didn't just give me a brand new phone. :laugh: I can tell that the chassis was still my old one due to the presence of my screen protector.

I had a similar prob pc went off halfway through odin fried it..no life, i sent it to samsung they said it was a screen issue but not covered as it was damaged. I really do look after my phone n in disbelief i said put new screen in i want to know it works before i pay... A few day later they rung n said the mother board was damaged.(not under warranty of course) argued my case they gave a quote for screen etc etc. Ending up payin £120 had new screen n motherboard when device returned camera didnt work n was fuming as this took 3month in total. So replaced that myself. Never will i send another phone to them.

Dude, if it's a brand new phone then replace it! There is no other solution for the yellow tint problem.
Where did you buy it from?
Every Samsung device has international warranty. You can return it. Unless isn't Chinese brand

Even HSN offers 1 week no questions asked replacement warranty.
Any how..ur best shot now is to immidiatly return the device..cuz longer u delay grimmer shall b ur chances..

M&P has a shop in plaza next to hafeez center..your best bet would be to go back to the shop and push him,insert code *#0*# ..to pull the Samsung device testing menu and use colors button..he might say that he can't see the yellow tint..just push him to it and if possible compare it with another s3..
I am sure these guys can replace it if they want to..M&P should replace it as well...they were officially releasing it in PK.justforce them to replace it on the spot..nothing like they will send it in warranty..keep pushing that's ur best shot..tell them Samsung has acknowledges this and is replacing these phones worldwide if they are genuine dealers they should have no problems with that.
Btw I also it 1st s3 with 1 dead pixel that I was able to force my way through with help of that Samsung diagnostic menu...that guy will be immediately impressed when u enter the code to get to official Samsung diagnostic menu.

You had to push him hard..and say its noy like they can repair this because alone lcd makes up for 90% of the major manufacturing cost..and its unacceptable..and that they are selling factory second/refurb sets..and its their internal matter to change it whenever they should just get u the new set..its their respobsibility...
More over go to the retailer u bought it from to change the ph for u.
Else handing it to M&P for 2 weeks is ur last resort ..of course with intimation that u wont accept opened/unsealed sets

Another suggestion is to write to official samsung website...i remember once a friend of mine wrote on panasonic website (or was it samsung )with original reciept for reference for some gadget he had..although local people were deying the problem..offical guy called him up and came with a brand new gadget..
I think M&P will change it for u..if they fail..jus go their international website and local aswell and curse them as much as u can.
Why are spending money on broken ph. M&P should do so.
One suggestion though always buy ur phone from one retailer and built repo woth him ..he will regard u more next time in any such incident.
Also try threatening M&P..try talking to yheir CEO not the salespersin..as that wont get u enough.

First of all i wont have replacment abiltly so its a win or loose situation
My question is should i check for any thing specially
Any tint on screen any code to check for smth like a batch version any thing to help me assure the unit is fine would be appreciated

Just make sure your phone is not network locked. Our have locked bootloader. How press vol up+home+power it'll show you info.
