and what about the overheating issue?
what overheating issues ? its normal for smartphones to be warmer if u play heavy games
When it comes to gaming you won't notice a difference between either device, both are so fast any small advantage one has over the other will be totally negligible.

For now there is no difference but it can change when opengl 3.0 comes out. I9505 support opengl 3.0 but i9500 does not.
Go for the GT-I9505, quad core 1.9 ghz snapdragon 600 will be good enough to take on most of the HD games and tbh even on power saving mode, I got buttery smooth on almost every games I played, but that depends whether the games is optimized for our galaxy s4. U also will get more support from developers here since majority of them have the snapdragon set
I know there are lots of threads like this, but everyone has their own opinion on which things are important when choosing, a smartphone. Though I know that both phones are beasts in normal tasks, I'm kinda confused about some things: Do you think that games like Asphalt 7 and Real Racing 3 will ever get optimized for i9500? They already run pretty well on i9505, but on the other hand, in games that are not optimized for neither the octa or quad, like GTA Vice City are running better on the octa. And what do you think which phone would be better for upcoming titles like Asphalt 8. Also its gpu, the PowerVR SGX544MP3 usually scores better in benchmark than the Adreno 320 in the i9505. I also know that the i9505 will get more support from devs, but a guy at androidcentral could already run all th 8 cores simultaneously on his i9500, and an anonymous CM dev has already bought an i9500, and Faryaab and Grarak are trying to build CM for it. LTE is not important for me because I don't have an LTE contract. So what are your opinions whicth one should I choose?
How many more of these threads do we really need? This question has been done to death. A quick search will get you everything you need.

You tell me ... you already seem to know a lot about the devices so choose whichever one suits you better.

Running 8 cores at the same time would most likely need to be done with the charger connected to the phone, so you might as well buy a decent laptop for the same amount of money and you get to play more games than Android has to offer.
Otherwise, get the i9505 or wait for the succesor.

Thanks for all replies, but I would like to know what do you think will games be optimized for the i9500 because I think it has lot of untamed power inside, but i think samsung is not taking advantage of the power of the Exynos 5410 and the PowerVR gpu maybe because it would be more powerful than the i9505. For example the iPad 3, which is a really good gaming device, uses a PowerVR SGX543MP4 which can handle only half of the number of the triangles S4's gpu can handle, but still performs better in games due to the lack of optimizition. It is pathetic in my opinion that such titles as Asphalt 7 and Real Racing 3 are not optimized for i9500 at all. I want to ask what do you think? Will these titles be optimized ever for i9500? Don't get me wrong I think the i9505 is a beast too, but I don't see so much potential in it.
As it had been announced, there are already good successor of S4 SOCs.
There is a new Exynos and then you also have the Snapdragon 800.
The gaming may or may not be optimized for S4 versions, since it all depends on the game producers.
Regarding the games on i9500, it has been said it runs smoother than i9505.
I personally wouldn't buy a smartphone for gaming capability, since the android has a limited number of good games and quite often I find that I enjoy better an adventure game than a car racing simulator.
For the money you spend on an S4, you can get a good gaming console and never get bored.
Then again, if you didn't buy a phone yet, and you can afford to wait a little, you can probably buy an improved version of S4 this autumn.

Nope,GT9305 is even worse for gaming than GT9300. S3 is getting old and it's not smooth in gaming anymore. MC series were always laggy and stuttery,so if you want to be gamer of that game, then you will have some trouble. Other than that,S3 still handles games like Most Wanted,Asphalt 7 and 8 (medium) pretty well. MC5 has some constant FPS drops, maybe that will be fixed in future. But if you have some money,I recommend you to buy a better, newer device.
Hey jup i noticed that the graphics sucks but Unforgivable i dont have tje money to get a better device because i am young father of a son soo the extreemly nice game performance must wait for me

Nothing that a bit of... overclocking can do [emoji41]
Look, S3 is old, but, with the fact being old there is another fact, it can be tweaked good.
Install a custom rom by your choice and pair it up with a good kernel, play a bit with the clock speeds and governors and you will have a speedy phone.
FYI, MC5 on everything stock for me works on 15-20 fps, wich is good, but stuttery, but with OC beeing buffed it can top on 35 fps, wich is uncomparable to the stock, no freezes and works like a charm.
But, the drawback is, battery will run down preety fast so have a charger by your side.
Cheers
Oke thnx thats a bit more info then the first yea because the money is a problem in these times with kids in Euro zones soo gonna look for it for the rom when the phone arrive

GT I9305 has Snapgdragon Dual Core processor and Adreno 220 GPU.
GT I9300 has Exynos Quad Core processor and Mali-400 GPU.
So,no,there's pretty big diffrerence.

I think you have mistaken i9305 with some other device
OP asked about i9305, so I have to tell that it has the same gaming performance as i9300, however for everyday use (it is important then) it has 2GB of RAM instead of just 1GB (as i9300).

No mistakes, lol. GT I9305 has Snapdragon processor because Exynos doesn't contain LTE support and Snapdragon does.
There's a chinese version of Galaxy S3 which has Exynos processor and 2GB of RAM,but GT I9305 has that specs. You should google it,as it seems like you don't know about both S3's much.

Just shup up please...
That's the Galaxy S3 Neo which have a Snapdragon A7... Check out http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_i9300i_galaxy_s3_neo-6289.php
_____________________________________________________________________
About performance of the I9305, i can run all the market at full speed, emulate PSP(with PPSSPP), N64, PS1, etc
I can also run Monster Hunter Unite 3rd(HD version for PS3) at full speed, incredible.
More ram daily is much appreciated. Fast Multitasking and no "lag" load in games.

Hello Buddy! Glad to see you having interest in this awesome-crazy device.
Coming to your query, I'm flawlessly running them on max settings (My Sammy's rooted). The 8-core CPU is really powerful and the PowerVR GPU's benchmarks give awesome results not missing that device does have a very great development.
PS: Also consider LG G2 and Moto X2. But I consider i9500 to be the best overall if all departments are taken into account (Memory Card Slot, Development, Display, etc.)
Regards,
Paras Lehana
(I9500 running Ozcan ROM v6.3)
Yes I9500 is great. but gets really hot on some games.
Hi , i already brought the device the rom is stock Kitkat latest version
I tried Xcom enemy within 1.2.0 but the game is not smooth it's stutter
can you share your experience with xcom on your device? thx
guys i was linked to here so i ask again here
guys, i was looking for a new device and came to note 4, but isee there 2 versions Snapdragon and Exynos
these benchmarks are old and since we are like nearly a year further since release in my country witch should i get of the 2
most ppl voted for the Exynos ver on this forum but i dont go read like 200+ posts,
what i want to do wit hthe device
gaming,
watching anime 10bit h264 / h265 mkv/flac
custom firmware something like archidroid witch i used on s3
help me out abit , the on paper reviews dont say everything its more about true phone power, stability, laggless, ofc speed to
as far as ive seen reviews , snapdragon is best in gpu depending stuff while Exynos does the multi process/task stuff but those revies are from 2014 dunno if anything has changed with the firmwares and so
What would have changed? It's simple, snapdragon for better fps and custom roms or exynos for better multitasking and lower temps but no CM for now (although there is a dev working on it). Don't depend on benchmarks, the differences are minor when it comes to performance.
you forget to mentions 32/64 bit
