I'm having to use an app for call recording atm as I can't find anything to do with it on my phone.
Could anyone shed a bit of light on it?
I've tried some different call recording programs, and so far this is the one that has provided me with the best results
Haven't tried it on my Note 3, but it worked great on my galaxy S3

Try out MP3 incall recorder.
Good one with mp3 recording format. And also free.

£7.95 is a bit steep!
I think ill go with Automatic Call Recorder by Global effect. Its got a free trial so i know it works, then its only a £1.78 in app purchase.
It will be my first purchase ever, I hate in app purchases.

The app states it doesnt work with 4.3 yet.
Is it totally free, or is there an in app purchase to enable automatic call recording?
Using CallRecorder - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.skvalex.callrecorder

Yes it is having in app purchase for automatic call recording but try out lite version first and decide.
I have purchased and it worth to spend. Even you can use this app in multidevice with one purchase.
And manual recording is not big deal, it gives icon in call screen and very flexible.

to be honest I don't think its actually working it just that you have the volume on high. The way you can tell if it records via line and not mic is to turn down the volume and see if it still records. In my case it did not even though I picked "phone line" for audio source.
s..t, no volume high...really worked line recording

In the settings it is set to line. Incoming voice is clear without the use of speakers so I guess it is indeed recording from line.
Obviously doesn't record from line as incoming voice in crowded places is impossible to hear.
works, but i suspect from mic (though is set to line).
audio is clear but at very low volume

Well its gotten wet in the rain so far withou any adverse effect... Not going to submerge in water tho lol..
Its lacking tru call handling and notifications support at the moment. Doesnt quite 'integrate' with my note 2 just yet (running 4.3)... But i can seemlessly send pictures, apps, video via Bluetooth consistently without any issues. Wifi works 110% perfect.
As a watch its great... Just added GO locker for more variety. Its def for those gadget geeks who are really good with this kind of stuff

Please take some shot with phone's camera and upload! I'd like to see the camera quality. Maybe video if it is possible. THX!
Can you tether it to a phone so you can use the phone's internet connection? This is something most smartwatches seem to be lacking, even though it should be included if the manufacturer doesn't mess with the software (i.e. removing that option intentionally)

I meant that it is lacking phone pair connectivity. Such as ; if you get a text the phone cannot notify you, or if you have a call coming in the watch will not notify you... this software doesn't exist yet. I have tried numerous apps on play store but no luck as of yet.

It's a 2 mega pixel camera... the quality isn't too bad overall... video quality is actually Very Good... i sent a video from the watch to my galaxy note 2 and the resolution was very surprising..... it was good. not too much distortion - The only thing is that the frame rate is less so you will noticing a little skipping vs a high quality galaxy note or s4 camera would take.. this is expected though.

The option is not on every Note 4 device. My SM-N910C doesn't have that. Apparently from what I've heard Koreans are obliged by law to have the sound whenever they use a camera.
I've also heard rooted Note 4 can get rid of this, but you'll have to ask someone else on how exactly it's done.
If rooted you can modify the csc settings to make the camera shutter menu appear. It's present in all Samsung roms, just not enabled on some of them.
The most convenient way to modify the csc features is to use an app called note 2 hidden features. Works on all Samsung devices, don't let the name fool you.
Check out "Note 2 Hidden Settings"

You need a rooted Note 4, right.
Easiest method is just erasing or renaming the shutter sound file; usually called something like "Shutter.ogg".
With the Note 4, I suspect it's \system\media\audio\ui\Shutter.ogg
But beware: With other Samsung models (like the S4), this just deactivated the regular, single shot shutter sound. The sound for that "sequence shots" (if you keep the shutter button pressed) was still there.
So you buy a flagship phone..... and then you need to root it for turn off the shutter sound... ? Well I am glad that I not use the camera that much....
enforced stream silencer will do it

And where do I get enforced stream silencer? After all it would have been more easy if Samsung just make it possible to silence the shutter sound in their flagship device ?

OMG, I'm sold! I see h263/h264/hevc/MPEG4/DivX311/DivX4/DivX/MPEG2/VP8/VP9 for video codecs and AC3/EAC/Flac for audio codecs. This is perfect for my video codecs!
Now just need a reliable source to buy this from.
I ordered one of these from spemall.com last week, I wish they would hurry up and ship it. I don't remember seeing the fairly small "presale" text almost hidden on the product page now when I made the purchase. I hope they aren't holding back international purchases of this Chinese version for their international launch.
Thank you for the quick reply !
Good to now that "normal" 6/128gb version has the capacitive buttons.
On the codec side, good to see hevc, i just hope that they did use up to date one from dc so it supports 10 bits^^
Im not an audiophile, unfortunately, but I do appreciate a good sound quality as I have Sennheiser Wireless, and v-moda m100 and constantly listening to Dubstep\hardstyle\rock etc. I listened for a few minutes without to much equalizing and it sounds very good. Later I will root and install viper4android and hopefully it will work on marshmallow. My note5 didn't :\
How far is MiFavor UI 4.0 from AOSP visually and functionally? OK, I know that there is no original Gapps. But what about other functionalities? I am hoping that they have used the AOSP recent apps list and drop down quick settings rather than the way that MIUI and EUI do them.
If you have a Type-C -> hdmi/power in/usb A, could you give a try to that ?
As in, can you output to a screen through HDMI while charging and using a keyboard.
Cheers

Hmm. The chinese UI is very customized, I wanted to barf when I saw it the first time. Also because this is high configuration, its made of gold color, hardware and software. The notifications tray is actually nice, and after I nova prime the **** out of the phone , it looks great!
There are alot of functions, can't list them all, better watch youtube. But theres forcetouch(works very poorly, need software update), floating icon that can go back, take screen shot etc. You can have duplicate apps (wechat, whatsapp etc), voice activation and much more, I like it so far. Also for a full day not one force close.
Yes it supports voice recording (in dialer and regular).
No google what so ever, you can install seperatly though.
Don't think theres internet calling.

I'm in the same boat. It's disappointing LG doesn't' include a native or global equalizer. It's hit or miss trying to find one that works and not cutting out and quit working. I have troubles with them on my Nexus 7 and the HTC One M7 i used to have. The 3rd party one's aren't always reliable. and definitely don't sound as good as poweramp. I cam from a Galaxy S7 and it had a nice EQ app on it. It's a shame samsung has all curved screens. I would go back to Samsung because of the EQ, great selection of themes for the native theme app, and a more reliable camera.

I switched recently from VLC to Poweramp pro. Well worth the $3.99 imho. That is, if you want a media player as well. The equalizer is ten band and has a powerful preamp and bass/treble boost . The sound over bluetooth with the built in aptX HD is excellent, I thought VLC was good but Poweramp blows it away. Plus it doesn't have much of an impact on the battery when playing music in the car.

I also have my developer options turned on. I wish I could give you more information, but I am not that technically proficient with Android.
Update..
Tried it again and it would not update without root access. The program loads but doesn't work. Sorry, should have tried before posting.
Just stumbled across this, i dont know if you're still looking for it, but I've found that the Cyanogen Audio FX works just fine for most applications. You can get it without root via the Appstore, there's an app called "Cyanogen Apps", which offers you every Cyanogen Specific app to download and install. It is 100% safe and I've used it on many phones so far without root. One downside however is that it sometimes takes a while to catch up if you switch songs manually. Also, you will need to fiddle a bit with your battery saver settings as they are likely to kill the app when it is idle for a short amount of time (which happens after switching manually). It offers great bass boost settings as well as a virtualizer (which im not a fan of) and basic controls, i. E. 5 frequency settings, similar to the built in equalizer which only works for the native music app. Sound quality stays similar and unless you are using 600 dollar studio equipment, you will not hear a drop in quality.
