Hi, I have a big problem.
I flashed this ROM on the phone: I9505XXUDMH8-PRE-ROOTED-KNOX_FREE-ODEX-FULL
And all was fine.
A few days later, the phone started lag a lot and google services (like the play store) crashed.
So, I put the teamwin recovery, I tried to do a "wipe data", but data, system, efs, cache results impossible to mount.
At this point I flashed again: "I9505XXUDMH8-PRE-ROOTED-KNOX_FREE-ODEX-FULL.", the phone has booted, but the process "system" and google services crashed.
I flashed the clockwork recovery, I mounted and formatted "data", "cache", "system" wipe data factory, wipe cache and wipe Dalvik cache and then I flashed with odin the file "I9505XXUDMH8-PRE-ROOTED-KNOX_FREE-ODEX -FULL. ", but the phone didn't pass the write "samsung".
At the end, I downloaded the file I9505XXUDMHB_I9505ITVDMI2_ITV and I flashed with the "pit", but the phone still not pass the bootanimation. Please, help.
Thanks.

I've a similar problem now, I've wiped the data and cache via stock recovery, but can't get past the Samsung splash screen.

I've done it again... i was updating from MH8 to MJ7, used 3.04 but got stuck in a bootloop again - I've followed the steps above but it hasn't worked for me this time anything else I can try?
---------- Post added at 10:29 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:21 PM ----------
Also tried this
Flash stock firmware with the appropriate pit file, after "pass", unplug usb cable, pull battery out for a minute, insert it, boot into recovery, wipe data and cache, reboot.

I'm a total newbie when it comes to flashing ROMs and whatnot.
I got clockwork installed correctly and downloaded the superclean ROM to my SD card.
I rebooted into recovery and tried a data wipe/factory reset. It ran and ran and ran for over an hour and I couldn't find any info on the web about how long it should take so I pulled the battery thinking it was hung.
I now boot up and it goes into Android System Recovery. At the bottom it says "Manual Mode"
The SD card is still installed.
It gives me the following options but I can't select any of them.
Reboot system now
apply sdcard:update.zip
wipe data/factory reset
wipe data cache partition
What can I do?

Odin
Your going to have to use odin! Search for instructions on flashing back to stock using odin!

How long should I wait for Clockwork to wipe my data?

Did you flash clockwork within rom manager? There should be an option for the fascinate. Do it twice just for grins. The reboot into cwm and try it again.

Yep I did that first.... I just attempted it a couple of times this morning and it seemed to work today.
It didn't get hung up saying "Wiping Data...." It went to another line and said Formatting Data and sat there for about 30 seconds and completed the wipe. I"m not sure what was different than what I did last night but it worked.
Hey guys,
I've tried to flash DarkSide preFinal on my Atrix, now the phone is stuck on "Unlocked, Dual Core"-Screen.
Here's what I did:
Downloaded latest DarkSide and saved it to internal SD
Factory Reset via Recovery Console
Wipe Data
Wipe Cache
Wipe Dalvik Cache
Flashed the zip file
the process seemed to go through just fine, now when I'm trying to boot the phone it is stuck at the "Dual Core"-screen
Any ideas on how to solve this? I tried to factory-reset and wipe several times, still stuck
Any help is appreciated!
1. Do you have an unlocked bootloader?
2. Are you using a CWM-based recovery?
If you have answered yes to both 1 and 2 then:
3. Have you tried flashing the zip from the external SD?
4. Did you try to flash anything else after flashing the ROM while still in the same recovery session?
(If you answered "Yes" to #4 then re-flash the rom by itself and boot at least once before flashing anything else)
EDIT: Ignore question #1, I just realized you mentioned "Unlocked" on the boot logo.

Thanks for the quick reply.
I reflashed with Wet Dream from the external SD (newer is always better, right? ).
Everything is working now
Seems like being a great ROM.

how long did you let it sit at the loading screen?
Usually when I have boot loops, I let it sit on the loading screen for awhile(2-4 minutes). If it still doesnt boot, then I do a battery pull, and then usually after that it boots.
And if it doesn't boot just reboot into recovery mode, wipe cache, data and dalvik and reinstall the ROM again.
Sent From Rob's RP-Hybrid Atrix.
When installing any new rom, it can take a while to build up the dalvik cache again. I've had it take up to 10 min before. Best to just walk away and come back and check on it.
so I tried to install a custom "rom negalite-s4-r41" I installed it all fine, when I was at boot screen it keeps repeating boot screen. I tried to wipe data/cache. It didn't do anything. it says my sd card is not mounted and when I try to mount it, it just says error. I can boot into download and I plan to try to install a stock non rooted everything with odin. I can boot into system recovery, but the ittle droid falls over with the red exclamation point. I can choose the follow options "Reboot system, Apply update from ADB, apply update from external storage, wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition, apply update from cache" I have tried reboot system just repeats reboot like I said, I have no clue what ADB is, apply update from external storage says it fails to mount sd, I have wiped data/factory reset, I did do the cache partition, my update from cache is all empty. Please help, I'm sitting in panera bread off their wifi because i have no internet at my house, this really sucks.
You are soft bricked. Odin to a stock ROM. Then re root.

I had a similar situation. I was able to Odin crawrj's Stock/Rooted/Deodexed/Stock Recovery ROM. Factory reset from stock recovery after you Odin the ROM.
Hi there
I seem to have a problem flashing 4.3 roms, actually any rom that isn't stock in general.
Right now I am running syzmel's 20E with 1.3ghz overclock version 3.09.
Back to the problem: this is the steps I take to upgrade to any rom: 1. Download (slimbean, vanir asop) 2. flash v20D (unmodded) 3. Root it using Framaroot 4. Install CWM using L7CWM.zip (extracted, then clicked on flash bootloader, flash recovery, and then booted into recovery) 5. Boot into CWM 6. Click on factory reset and reset 7. Go into mounts and storage and format /system 8. Go to advanced and wipe dalvik cache. 9. Flash either 4.3 version slimbean or Vanir ASOP (tell me which is better) 9. Flash gapps (Slimbean: Slim AIO minimal Gapps, Vanir: 4.3 minimal Gapps which is found in the Vanir ASOP page) 10. Factory reset again 11. Wipe dalvik 12. Reboot
Now as soon as I reboot, either it stays rebooting, or boots once and when you reboot it stays at the boot loading page (slimbean logo, or android logo) (In other words, once you go black, you never go back. Not being racist, just saying once it blacks out it doesn't work no more). So i retry. And then I give up and stick on v20E.
So please suggestions?

Danm, yes I'm sure.
Why you dont format cache and data & data/media ?
Did you try boot without gapps... Sometimes bad gapps cause a lot of problems

When you factory reset it clears cache automatically. I'll try without Gapps.

LG Optimus L5 E610 - CWM Bootlooping
Basically I inserted a pre-rooted firware into my lg phone using 20d+root + cwm.kdz, everything was fine including the flashing, I some how got the the CWM recovery and done everything such as wiping cache, etc, but the problem was before and after the wiping, etc, is that everytime i press power button it turn off and on and back on to the CWM recovery screen not home screen with apps, etc.
I am really fustrated, please Help!:crying:
on my A2017U After unlocking the bootloader and having twrp 3.0.4 installed I went to install resurrection remix and gapps and upon boot it asks for a password that I had never set up. before installing the ROM i formatted the data and wiped everything. What do I need to do? I reloaded a stock rom and in the settings it says the phone is encrypted. I've tried searching for answers to this but I haven't been able to find anything..

Are you sure you are ACTUALLY USING the 'Format data' button? Wiping won't do anything to the encryption (i'm asking just to be sure).
Otherwise try doing this:
-Format data, wipe system, dalvik, cache
-Flash Universal Bstck
-Flash your modem
-Flash the ROM
-Flash either noverity-opt-encrypt-axon7 (I think the name was that one; just make sure it is for the axon7 or ailsa_ii), or SuperSU/Magisk which should have that packaged in.
This really shouldn't happen...

yes, I am actually using format data button and typing yes. I will try using the noverity later this evening and give you a followup
If I remember this right you have to use both in twrp,
factory reset and format data, I read this here on XDA or Reddit before I unlocked my bootloader.

this is what I did.
1. Boot to TWRP
2. wipe/factory reset
3. advanced wipe everything but sd card and usb
4. format data, type yes
5. install ROM and Gapps
6. boot.
everything loads okay except I get it asking for password
I have not tried another ROM yet or the noverity-opt-encrypt-axon7 I will have to do those later tonight.
One more thing I was going to try is remove the lockscreen pin/fingerprint on the stock before doing anything

Do this after you flashed rom and gapps, only factory reset and format data, no need to wipe other stuff.
Edit: I did this directly after the unlock, I flashed the latest official twrp through the unlock twrp version, rebooted to twrp, advanced wiped caches and data, not system, flashed bootloader and modem from the Los thread for my axon version, flashed dark rom with gapps, rebooted and run into the same issue as you. Back to twrp, factory reset, format data, then reboot and everything was good ....., Or Format data and then factory reset, try both if necessary.

You just need to wipe data cache dalvic after flashing the ROM
You have the factory reset step in the wrong place. Do it after the rom and gapps installation...
Essentially the phone is still encrypted though factory reset . You need to get rid of the encryption AFTER you flash the new ROM...
Change the data file system to ext4.

This seemed to do the trick for me.
To change the file system type in TWRP 3.2.3.0:
Go to 'wipe', then 'advanced wipe' and select 'Data', press 'Repair or Change File System' and then 'Change File System' to EXT4. It will say "format" which often means "delete" but didn't remove the ROM I had flashed moments before.
I also did this below first- but without doing a re-flash of the bootloader and modem:

Idk if this will help with your use case, but for other users, it can be good to know.
but for the stock ROM: Settings -> Security -> Screen Lock -> Enter your pin -> It should ask you if you want to shut off the password on boot up
