I want to buy the G2 but the only device are with 16 giga of internal memory (UK version).
1. Is it enough for daily use? Now I have S4 with 16 internal and 64 Giga SD card. My use is 2 giga of music, 4 giga of camera photo and videos.
2. How much memory is free after installing apps?
3. Does the G2 cam recorder use more memory then 1080 30fps (G2 use 60fps)?
I have the 32gb but lets see the phone has like 24 available with the system and bloatware on it and I have 21 free after installing my typical apps and games since my photos and music are cloud based. I would manage no problem with a 16 gb model but I'm sure many others would find it just a bit restraining without changing their ways a little bit.
thanks, Im gonna try it.
If you keep music/pictures on you phone, Flash roms, Do backups of roms/apps. Play games.. 16GB is not enough. If you just make phone calls youll be fine.
I have galaxy S4 now and I have 2 giga of music, 6 Giga of photo and videos. Other stuff like backups is 2-3 gigas.

Does High Capacity Memory Cards slows down the device?
My answer is NO...I am using a 4GB card for P3400i from 6 months without any problem
Never heard this.
why do u need more than 2GB
hi
i realy dont get it why would u need more than 2GB i have put so many cabs music and a lot of stuff most of which i really don't use much and i seem to have just reached 1GB why do u need some thing more than Max 4GB can some one explain this is just for my info that's all
@Hari: dude you have no idea about it? Lemme give you some examples:
Songs!
Video Clips
Full length movies converted to 3gp (1 takes about 120 MB)
Big software (ex Wordnet dictionary that i use is 60 MB in size, and my total software installation is about 360 MB )
Games (TOmb Raider and Some other 3D games take around 80 MB on my card.)
Ebooks and Word Excel documents.
Email Attachments
pdf books
A lot of photos, 2MP photos take a lot of space.
And this is just what i use, other would surely have many different things i am sure. My 2 GB card is full, and i have intentionally left many of the things that i need just to keep 100 MB free. I will buy a 4 GB card soon but the prices are very high right now
ok got it
hi
thanks i got it lets say its a individual user issue as i dont play game and load videos may be 2GB is ok but for kids like U may be u would need 4 or 8gb
i get the picture thanks i dont think 4GB is too costly i think its around 800Inr at Bangalore that's wat i remember let me chek on the same i do remember buying my 2GB long time bak for 450Inr

I have more than 2.5 GB of songs and 1 GB of videos. Regretting why I bought only 4 GB Card . Running out of space .
BTW Ido not use 3 GP format for videos, prefer tmpgenc, which reduces size considerably but quality is awsome.
@krazy: I think u can get 4 gb for abt 450/-.
Members, the question is:
Does High Capacity Memory Cards slows down the device?
and not that how you fill up your space.

I'm getting a Nexus S soon but I'm worried I will low on memory. My 8GB SD Card on my MT4G has about 3GB left but I only have like 30 songs on it and a few applications. I use my phone as a multimedia device so I don't want to ever run low on memory.

On the Nexus S, you have 1 gig of space for app installs, you then have 13gigs of space for your "sd" card. So that's more than what you already have.
On my Vibrant I had 16 internal plus 8 external. I loaded it up with videos and then never watched any of them, except for the short user created ones I made to show off stuff I did, so I'm not too worried about space on the Nexus. I've got about 2gigs of songs on it now, a bunch of apps I use all the time and MSpot will let you have another 2gigs of music in the cloud for free, so that should take care of me until the next big bad phone comes along that I decide to get.
Hello guys.
Is the a difference bettween Nexus 4 with 8 Gb and Nexus 4 With 16Gb?
I want to buy it but I can't aford the 16 Gb.
Thanks in advance.
Only difference is storage.
Sent from my Nexus 4 on T-Mobile
Coming from a 16GB Galaxy SIII (which also had a 16GB SD Card in it) I thought there was no way I could buy the 8GB Nexus 4, so I opted for the 16GB.
The 16GB version comes with 12.92GB of available storage due to space taken by the operating system.
Funniest part is, I currently have 11.74GB available.
I could have easily went with the 8GB version. I used to store all my music and photos on my phone, but now that I have integrated into the cloud (Google+ automatically uploads my photos as I take them with my camera and I uploaded every album/song I own to my Google Music account) I find that storing media is completely unnecessary for me.
This may not be a good solution for those who do not have unlimited data or are constantly in areas with no data connection, but for me it's perfect.
just storage size but dont get 8gb if you're going to put ANY music on your phone. 16gb user here and it's still annoying...
Of course it depends on your storage preference. So look at your phone that you have now, what do you keep stored on your phone?
I wasn't sure and bought the 16GB before, but I only use a couple of GB's so most of my storage is empty....
I bought the 16GB nexus thinking there's no way 8 will be enough for me. But i don't think I've ever went over 6GB of storage. I only keep a few songs that I really like (30ish), and 2 or 3 big 3D games. I delete whatever I don't need immediately, like old rom zip, etc.
Guess I'm too organized to take advantage of the extra storage.
I have the 8gb and its plenty if space. So long as u don't save a bunch nandroid backups they take up alOt of space. I use dropbox ALOT now and just store what music I want at any given time on my device. Like maybe 2 GB of music. Also I don't store multiple ROMs no more than 2 at a time anymore. I didn't think I could live with 8gb but I still have almost 2gb left lol.

Thanks for the answers guys!
i think i go for 8 GB Nexus.
Thanks alot!!
I bought the 16 GB version just to be sure I wouldn't go out of space, but I still have 8,82 GB free without storing any music or movies on the phone, just the photos taken with te camera and lot of apps (about 3 GB due to heavy games).
I think could have bought the 8 GB version, but I'm happy with my decision.
Size! only have about 10GB available (pity there is no way to get into that other 6 gig) so after doing a nadroid (4gig) and Titanium backup (1 gig) with apps and things I'm left with only about 2 gig for movies etc which equals 2 movies at most, so yes size is the biggest issue, thats one of the reason I want to go over to CM or SlimKat (when they have stable builds... tried SK RC1 yesterday but its very 'buggy' kept freezing and rebooting my phone), cos the ROM size difference is quite big with stock based roms you can get away with about 1 gig, with CM/AOSP roms you can get away with about 300mb which is a nice space saving especially when space is limited like it is on the 16 gig G2.

You still won't have the full 14 gigs...
www.meenova.com
You can always go for usb host and those tiny micro usb flash drives.
But i agree, 10 gigs from device that cost so much is just horrendous
It could be possible to resize the internal partitions eg system, data etc but obviously a lightweight rom would be needed.

Dear experts..
please help me in choosing 16gb or 32 gb variant of moto g4 plus.
I liked the specs of moto g4 plus and have been looking to buy it since a very long time. and equally so scared of reading negative reviews.
Iam a very moderate mobile user , my requirements :
1. occassional calling - less than 1 hr on call / day
2.browsing
3.less than 1hr on social media / day
4. occasional usage of camera,music,videos
5. never touch any games apps
Now iam confused between choosing 16gb/2gb vs 32gb/3gb because of 2 reasons
1. there is difference of 3000 INR between these variants in india currently,
2. the negative reviews
- why should i spend 3000 more bucks on a mobile which "MIGHT " creats issues in future ? so i want to go for a lower version of this same mobile for lesser price?
please clarify these doubts :
- for my above mentioned requirements, is 2gb ram really sufficient ?
- iam having Strontium Nitro 32GB 70MB/s UHS-1 Class 10 microsdhc Memory card, i want to use this SD card as permanant internal storage. does it support as internal storage memory ? and is it advisable to do so ? will there be any lags ?
-Of the 16 gb internal memory, i guess only 9 gb is available, If i update g4plus OS to nougat and in future to android O , how much internal space would left to me in 16gb. ? can i compensate this space issue with SD card ?
- apart from Ram and space is there any thing that would bother me among these two variants in future ? ? iam going to use it atleast for 3 years..
Please kindly enlighten me, iam so confused.
Thanks in advance...
stay blessed...

~ "for my above mentioned requirements, is 2gb ram really sufficient ?"
2GB RAM is sufficient ONLY if you'd be carrying out these activities one at a time. Running social media app such as FB for an hour, whilst also browsing and/or listening to music, streaming media, is VERY likely to cause noticeable lag.
~ "Strontium Nitro 32GB 70MB/s UHS-1 Class 10 microsdhc Memory card, i want to use this SD card as permanant internal storage. does it support as internal storage memory ? and is it advisable to do so ? will there be any lags ?"
By permanent internal storage you most likely meant adoptable storage, which IS SUPPORTED by both 16gb and 32gb variants. IME you can never truly replace the efficiency of the inbuilt storage, specially for operations that would require constant yet quick I/O ops. Even while using your ext sdcard as adoptable storage its best practice to prioritize large external app data for the secondary storage - example offline YouTube content or camera RAW files.
Plus, external SD cards are not designed to endure rigorous read write operations and have a much smaller write cycle life. Besides, you may want to keep i mind that ext cards, are more prone to data corruption, and also if the card is ejected /damaged by mistake it'd crash the system given its functioning as internal storage.
As for the lags, not very noticeable in terms of animations, transitions or UI latency, but definitely in app launches, high load operations such as graphic rich games or image editing and saving edited files.
~ "Of the 16 gb internal memory, i guess only 9 gb is available, If i update g4plus OS to nougat and in future to android O , how much internal space would left to me in 16gb. ? can i compensate this space issue with SD card ?"
9 GB initial space in internal memory is rather low by today's standards. Even if you have set ext card as adoptable storage, several apps which have been designed for pre MM APIs vigorously cache data to internal drive by default, and unless you heavily tweak app data storage parameters you are likely to find much of 9gb taken up in no time.
So to specifically answer your question, yes you can compense for the low storage with am ext card but you'd be runnining a fairly tight ship, while also having to constantly keep check on storage performance.
~ " apart from Ram and space is there any thing that would bother me among these two variants in future ? ? iam going to use it atleast for 3 years.."
AFAIK storage & RAM are the only differences between the two variants. You should though do an accurate and detailed comparison on a site such as phonearena to be sure.
Bottomline: if the difference in price isn't unaffordable, you'd have much happier 3 years of use with the 32gb one.
All the best!
Sent from my Moto G4 Plus using XDA Labs
One thing I noted was that you're planning to use a UHS-1 memory card as adoptable storage. If so, I'd suggest upgrading to a UHS-3 memory card if you can (this doesn't just apply to our device, it's more general advice for adoptable storage). It's more expensive, but the write speeds of UHS-3 cards are rated at 30 MB/s minimum, whereas for UHS-1 I recall the minimum write speed is 10 MB/s - 10 MB/s may be too slow for operations (and your device may notify you of that). UHS-3 cards seem to work better for adoptable storage (though as frances91 points out, they will not keep up with the internal flash memory). Look for UHS-3 (or U3) markings, I think they also come with v30 markings - here's an example: https://www.amazon.co.uk/d/Memory-Cards/SanDisk-Extreme-microSDXC-Memory-Adapter/B01HXR51DI
Also, adoptable storage may mean that some apps get installed to your SD card rather than internal storage, which means that certain app functions (e.g. widgets) will not function until you move them to your internal storage. In addition to what frances91 has noted about data corruption (rare, but can happen), your adopted SD card is encrypted by your device, and so may not function if you eject/flash another system on your device until you erase the SD card. You therefore may wish to keep the SD card as portable storage, so apps are defaulting to internal storage for installation, and keeping your music/photos on your SD card. As portable storage, you can then eject the SD card as you wish.
I agree with frances91 though - if you see yourself using the device for 3+ years, I suggest spending the extra money now and buying the 3 GB/32 GB version to future proof yourself. Just ensure, if you see yourself flashing custom ROMs in the future, that the device you buy is not an Amazon Prime Exclusive (I didn't see one on Amazon India, just something to watch for).
Thank you very much @ echo92 , Frances91, killerhEmU .. will surely consider your points and buy it accordingly.. thanks for spending your valuable time to answer .
