I was wondering if there were a way to create an overlay grid that shows x and y coordinates. Or every so many numbers. It could be opened on command and not interfere with touching anywhere else. Then use it to guide for hands free touching. "Run shell command"

Like windows has

Or would trying to run a live shell input task over voice even work?

Settings>developer options>tick 'pointer location' checkbox
Yeah. But I have to touch screen to find coordinates. I want to see coordinates so I can just speak "input x y" not all coordinate, but every so many.

Is there anyway to get the Asus screen shot shortcut (press and hold recent apps) on the Nexus 7?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium
Press Power and Volume Down simultaneously.

I am aware of power and volume down, but the design of the buttons combined with the folio case make it hard to access them. I am looking for an on screen shortcut like Asus uses on the TF300. Thanks.

Do you mean something like this. I don't know if you can add to the power menus on stock.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Yes, something like that would be great.

What ROM are you using.....I doubt it is possible on stock.
Sent from my BNTV250 using xda premium
You can do that with AOKP

Kaos Droid has that too.

I found an app called "Screenshot It" that adds a shortcut to the notification area. Thanks everyone for the input.
yeah AOKP has a power menu option to add it when you hold the power button, very easy to use
If your device is rooted, you can use a program called utter! (a voice activated assistant with a lot of voice commands that runs in the background). Shake your device to wake up utter! and say "Take a screenshot". Most commands in utter! do not require a rooted device but a few do.
If your ok aokp, you can change a softkey to a screen shot one. Really cool.

Has anyone else noticed this?
On my previous phone, I would get the regular notifications and could choose whether I expanded them or not. With the Nexus 4, all my notifications seem to come pre-expanded. Is there anyway to disable this feature?

Anyone?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
When you have 1 notification it expands when you have multiple it comes unexpanded. ie you get 1 text its expanded, you get a text and an email and downloaded an app, its not expanded.

Is there an option menu where I can turn that off? I prefer not to have the notifications automatically expand, even if it's only the first one

Does anyone know if there is a way to stop notifications from automatically expanding?
I don't think there's a way that you can. You would have to ask a Developer to code that for you in a custom ROM.

No, as of right now it is not possible.
I am not sure if there is a fix for this.
I press the button on my Bluetooth headset and I am prompted by "say call, followed by a name or a number".
It works perfectly if I am dialing a home or cell number. It does not recognize work numbers. No matter what I do. If I use Google voice search manually, it can dial my contacts work numbers without issue.
I am stock 4.2.2.
Help!

No one else is experiencing this?

Come on! There must be one expert that knows what l am talking about.

Does the contact your trying to dial the work number have more then three numbers? Because mine will actually ask me which number but will only pull home work or home mobile ect. Meaning you can only reach two numbers per contact doesn't seem to matter what there labeled as

Some have only 2. Some 3.
Even the ones with only 2 won't work. It is as if the word "work" was omitted from the search field.

How do we change which apps are on the lock screen. I cannot find the settings anywhere.
I want to add Gmail to there since that is the main notification that lights up.

Right there in settings where ud think it would be.... I understand though, sometimes we just overlook something no matter how long we search for it...
Sent from my LG-D800 using XDA Premium HD app
Where is it? I still don't see it. Can you take a screenshot of it for me. It's not there.

Shortcuts, right under wallpaper in settings/lockscreen. U must have swipe to unlock, as unlock type to get these options I think...
Sent from my LG-D800 using XDA Premium HD app
thank you. I had face to unlock so the apps shortcut was gone
I want to develop an app, which has clickable buttons and scrollable text (can scroll down). If you know any great guides please leave some here.

Ok, will try it!

Do a search with those few keywords on google. High chances are there are already sources out on the net that handles these particularly on stack overflow
