-CatLog:
A logger for errors and running (system) tasks.
-CPU-Z:

-Clean Master:
One of the best tools for cleaning your app cache.
-GooManager:
A great CWM Mod Manager replacement to find the latest Custom Roms and gApps, seranoltexx devices supported!
-Greenify:
Prevents (wakelock) apps from running in the backround when device is idle, to save battery life.
-Perfect App Lock
Protects your system and applications with a password.
-Root Checker:
Checks if your device is rooted.
-ROM Toolbox:
The ultimate root tool, features apps like: rom backups, rootbrowser, cpu gov, buildprop editor, theme manager, bootloaders etc.
-Root Browser:
A great filemanager tool.
-Titanium Backup
A great tool to backup your existing applications and system files.
-Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper:
Application to temporarily backup/disable root to enable OTA (stock) firmware updates.
-WakeLock Detector:
Detects which app runs in backround causing battery drain.
-XDA App:

Just place the zip into root folder of your internal storage and flash the update.zip with CWM Recovery and everything will be installed.
This flashable file can be used with Stock Samsung Rom or CyanogenMod 10.x
note: If you wish to leave out certain apps just edit the zip folder and remove the apps from data/data & app folders.
Download Update.zip (36.5MB): http://www.mediafire.com/?cgha32b5lgwan32
Nice idea.
Thanks for sharing!
Your welcome, i use this zip when i change between roms after wiping my data/cache/dalvik, always useful to have the right root tools on a fresh device and not having to download and search in store.

I believe this is a feature already existing in stock kernels. Its what helps you save your battery when you aren't doing anything.

Yes to a certain extent, but if you monitor the system with wakelock, and a cpu monitor, it still fluctuates quite a bit, freezing system wakes is a whole other mission on its own, if you want your syncs and stuff still to work in the background.
Anybody manage to pull this of with tasker/other apps?
Edit: Kernel Tuner plug in + Tasker is the answer, just use a "A1 cpu tool" or "cpu spy plus" since they keep logging even when your phone sleeps

Nice list mate, but Airpush Detector is pointless for S4 mini, because the S4 mini use 4.2.2
And Button LED does not support S4 mini

I love my Continuum.
But... it is so much "noisier" than all other Android phones that I tried!
By "noisier", I mean constant bombardment of the system log by all the applications that run there and, most annoyingly, random interruption by unsolicited notifications, messages, RSS, etc.
This gets in the way of certain applications that I run in the foreground, so I tried an application called "Android Assistant" to help kill unneeded applications/services on boot. It doesn't help, as the system seems not to allow killing certain processes.
Is there a Continuum ROM that's cleaner than the latest ec07?
Is there a CyanogenMod ROM for the Continuum?
Frankly, I prefer keeping the existing ROM and only install a Market application that kills on boot all the the applications that I don't need (e.g. Market, Gmail, Corporate Email, etc.), but is there such an application that really works?
Thanks!
Titaniumbackup or a root tool to uninstall bloat / apps u don't use. That's short of setting up a kitchen and cooking ur own rom.
PS I'd try tib first cause I remember the trouble u had with flashing the rom to begin with

My ROM is less bloated, but it still has like Gmail for example
I enjoy a very minimulistic device with very little clutter and apps.. I am currently working on a rom based on nuckin's, with a few tweeks, apks removed and some added to my liking. i am currently flashing the first test. Hopefully with a day or two, or even possibly tonight if it doesn't get to late i will post it up in a beta form.
Thats what Im talking about when are we going to get Cyanogen to make us a rom

Good memory!
I actually took a look at TIB and the task of deciding which application or service to uninstall looks daunting.
This is especially scary when I am prompted by the following warning when I try to uninstall via TIB:
Some system packages are needed for your phone to work properly. If you un-install the wrong package, it's your fault and you may need to reinstall your ROM !

How do I know up front which system packages I can uninstall? For example, if I uninstall Gmail, will the Market stop working?
For example, I uninstalled a few applications that I don't need and now I am getting periodic "Force close" messages for the following:
hiddenmenu - com.android.hiddenmenu
Messaging - com.android.mms
What is "hiddenmenu"?
I am attaching a text file listing all currently installed APKs. If you could provide tips which ones must absolutely remain on the phone, that would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

well i think we could do something with CM as soon as/if we ever get an open source kernel newer than 2.1update.
Ok so I recently rooted my phone after a lot of trouble, before rooting I was really excited and impatient thinking of the possibilities I have if I rooted but now after rooting I feel like a fool as now after rooting I don't have any apps that only rooted phones can run except Market Enabler which I don't use that ever often making me feel a little stupid.
So I wanted to start this thread so people can Co tribute things you CAN, SHOULD DO OR INSTALL AFTER ROOTING
So let me start of to say Superuser is a must have app, like literally must have or else your not rooted. Another app is Mobile Odin Pro which causes money but is worth it as it allows you to upgrade new roms as they are released still while maintaining your root and data (after I downgraded the rooted then used mobile odin to upgrade to new room my smemo drawings are no more there, there are still in the folders but its not read by the application, any idea why it happened)
Systemapp cleaner is also a must have as I deleted a lot of stock apps I don't use at all
So you guys leave comments to suggests things that can be done or installed only on rooted phones (lets make an exclusive thing so the non rooted phone owners are jealous )
Composed on my Samsung Galaxy Note using XDA Premium app
The reasons I root after install a new ROM are:
- Use adfree to block online adds (saves 3G data too)
- Remove the camera shut sound (annoying and stupid)
- Be able to backup everything and modify files in /system/app if needed
- Clocksync is another favorite, although time got from cellullar provider should be exact enough.
root explorer
mybackup root
adfree
those are the 3 main ones i need root for
Just adfree for me...and mobile odin pro for convenience.
- Mobile Odin Pro
- Change the density
- Freeze/delete system apps i don't want/use
That's about it at the moment.
- Titanium Backup
- WifiKill acting funny in front of family and friends
- Installing new Arabic Fonts

- Mobile Odin Pro (too good for easily flash what you want);
- Set CPU;

this was happening to me before but after scrolling down-up through permissions i was able to tap INSTALL button
anyone?
Some apps will cause this, I had it when I had Screen Adjuster running, stopped it and I was able to install.
Specifically, any apps that you've given permission to draw over other apps can potentially cause what you're experiencing. E.g., screen filter and other floating apps.
kien and ohyeahar tnx for help, i solved it by uninstalling twilight

avoid this and you will have no problem
hi all, hope someone can help me with this. i bought this phone but it only has like 9gb available, i rooted my device and i wanted to know if there is something i can do to free up memory, since its running low. please help, its the GT-I9505
If you are rooted you can use a program like titanium backup to delete system apps. You nee to be careful i deleted samsung store and it messed with other fuctioning stuff. You might want to find a list of what you can and canot uninstall.
Try flashing a ROM, like Cyanogenmod, that isn't touch wiz based. I did and I haven't had a single lag or internal storage issue. Good luck!
try the Clean Master app from play store

im a big fan of pure google android, and this touchwiz just isnt for me. can you point me out to a stable rom?
Try using the latest snapshot of cyanogenmod, or one of the latest nightlies both are pretty stable and I use them.
All of the rom touchwiz or non touchwiz will have the same available space i.e 9gb because of the default size samsung has used for the os on this phone. I think the only way to get the full amount is to flash a Chinese version of the rom and to do something with the pit files. I wouldnt go near that if i was a noob to this though because its messing with the partitions

Root App delete is an unknown extremely powerful app. It will remove and push in a user app and turn it into a system app. It will remove any system app completely. To be safe you can completely disable an app which it completely hides away from the system (doesn't appear at all on reboot) and if anything starts acting up, you simply access the disabled app menu in Root App delete and restore it to resume normal functionality. That's what am using to lighten my current stock rooted s4 rom. It's awesome! Even android v1.6 can run it. You don't need to damage your stock rom just disable and watch over a period of time. If the system remains stable, delete the app permanently, if the default keyboard sucks, install your custom keyboard then push it into the OS for it to become a system app then delete the default keyboard that sucks. This app gives me a field day in making my rom lighter just don't select the Pro option use the Junior, it is very very powerful all for 100% Free. In google play if you care to look alittle harder, all the apps that are paid for, have someone else giving all those features literally for free . I specialize in finding fremium apps. All my apps are fremium apps

As the word "Useful" varies user to user. Here are some apps those I always keep on my rooted phone.
Titanium backup:-Helps to backup games+apps even with data. The most needy app as I am Flashaholic.Lol
Es file explorer:-My favorite file manager. You don't need root for normal using. But for advance use(like editing system file, set permission to system files etc) root is needed.
Ad blocker:-Help you to get rid of annoying add on web pages.
Tasker:-Apps for little bit of more advance user.Helps you to automate your device.Such as ,I want to silent my phone when I am school,it automatically does that.
Xposed:-There are several module in Xposed by which U can taste the flavours of such things those are not present on your ROM.There are a long list of modules.Just check it.
Greenify+Amplify+power nap+App oops Xposed:-Battery back up is Bad.Just give it a try.For instruction check here.
Viper4android+Dolby Atmos(optional):-A must apps for music lovers. It comes with its own driver.U can Controll many parameters of music sound.
Kernel adiutor:-Helps you to take control of various Kernel parameters.Just use it with little bit of concern.
Battery calibrator:-Useful apps If battery monitor is showing wrong information.Use it when U flash different Roms like me.
Link2sd:-Helps you to move app over to Sdcard.Smae as Apps2sd but works in different way(by creating link). Don't know if it will work in marshmallow or nougat. As there is now adaptable storage now.
Flashify or Rashr:-Don't have PC all time.Helps you to flash zip or image file without rebooting to recover, including zip file, kernels, boot image, recovery image etc.
Servicely:-Sometime some apps keep running at background and consume battery. This apps helps you to prevent those apps from running in background.
Root call blocker:-If your ROM don't come with call blocker option .This is a useful app.
There are also many apps like Lucky patcher,Wakelock blocker,Rom toolbox,Dumpster,GL tools,Gravity box,Sdfix etc,U can use.
Just make sure what U R doing before using most of those apps.As mishandling some apps may cause brick your phone.

If the stock kernel(coming with ur ROM) supports DT2W then there should be an option in kernel adiutor. If not then then there will be no option. If u want DT2W then u have to use another kernel which supports that.Look into your devices forum.

Which version of Android are you on?
The best way of flashing t.w.r.p is by fastboot.
1)Setup ADB and Fastboot on your PC.
2)Open a command window inside the folder where your TWRP recovery .img file is saved. To do that, “Shift + Right click” on any empty white space inside the folder and then select “Open command window here” from the context menu.
3)Connect your device to the PC, make sure USB debugging is enabled from Developer options.
4)Boot your Lenovo A6000 into Bootloader mode using the command below:
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
5)Once your phone boots into bootloader mode, issue the following command to flash TWRP recovery image:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
6)Reboot your phone using the following command:
Code:
fastboot reboot
U can flash T.w.r.p.img by flashify or rashr app available on playstore. There should be an option like"flash/install recovery from SD card".Select the image file from there and flash it.
