thanks but these kind of apps not working

lots of profs here yet no one has idea?

up please

Do you have difficulties getting a good signal in your area?
In my experience, high battery drain due to cell standby happened when I left my S4 in that weird part of my room with terrible cell reception overnight.

thks for your reply but my s4 is live demo unit which means like wi-fi enabled tablet so there 's no cellular mode. So the software keeps searching for network and I want to disable it. Flight mode or other apps didnt help

There is a power saving toggle try to use it (its in settings... My device... Power saving mode)

Install this and check what apps or wakelocks are draining the battery

I am also experiencing the same thing.
Mine started with this and from next day onwards it is getting over heated and now currently heating issues and crashing
Do what spaceman said your phone isn't sleeping. One hour+ of staying awake.
Also, go into Google maps into settings into location settings and disable automatic location reporting and uncheck the other things.

I think it means that it prevents your phone from going into deep sleep.
Not entirely sure though, you might want to wait for someone to confirm what I said or tell you what it really means.
Regarding your question in post #1:
What have you been doing on your phone (i.e. playing games, phone calls, watching videos)? Do you have GPS and Bluetooth on? WiFi? 3G? How many (and which) widgets do you use?
Wakelocks stop your phone from entering deep sleep which therefore causes battey drain. The app will tell you what is causing the wakelocks so you know what is draining your battery and can deal with it. However, it might just be that your phone usage is causing the battery drain e.g 3G and GPS always on as the battery life isn't exactly amazing on the nexus 4

[Q] msm_hsic_host causing battery drain?

Hi everyone,
I noticed some heavy battery drain during the night. So I installed BetterBatteryStats to find the culprit.
The phone was fully charged and uplugged before going to bed. 7,5 hours later there was 80% left.
In the log "kernel wakelock", "msm_hsic_host" was on for 99% of the time and in "other" it showed my phone was awake the whole time.
I couldn't find any related threads here, but some on the nexus 4 forums. It seems to be related to the radio searching for a good signal, am I wrong?
I'm on stock rom XXUAMDE, rooted. Wifi was on, mobile data off. I set network mode to GSM only. I noticed yesterday the signal bar in the battery log was yellow/grey most of the day with GSM/WCDMA (auto connect) and green with GSM only. It appears 3G signal isn't the best in the area.
Any thoughts on how to fix this or some tests I can do?
Here are my battery stats for last night. 3,1%/h seems a bit too much. This is with MDN firmware btw, but no change.
Nobody had same problem?

Same problem here... Really annoying :/
Solution plz?
BUMP !
I did a factory reset. I could not find the problem, so I had to do something. While installing the apps I kept an eye on the battery consumption, but
everything seems normal. At night it lost 3% with wifi/data/nfc on!
Still no idea what was causing the battery drain though, but at least it is solved now.

Did a factory reset but the wake lock is still there... ****ing ****!!
I am on the HTC One and seeing the same problem. I guess we can exclude specific samsung/htc software but maybe we have something else in common

I don't think 3% overnight is bad? My S3 discharges about 1.5% per hour.........

In my Xperia Z is the same, almost 30% after 14 hours, still in 20% battery, but is annoying to have this "issue"
I also have this issue but only on mobile network, with WIFI no problems.
Looks like it's a qualcom issue and Nexus 4 owners have the same problem, some say it's fixed with android 4.2.2 but we have that one already:
http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=41855
update: Seems that I solved it by enabling fast dormancy. Had that disabled cause I was under the impression that my local provider (KPN) is not supporting it.

Is the percentage dropping rapidly? And do you have all the features active like GPS, WiFi, BT, max brightness, etc?

Try going to 4.2.2 and see if that helps.
If your still having the issue, it's probably something wrong with your hardware (battery).

Thanks for the reply, I was hoping not to do that, I have flashed slim ROM now, see if this helps, do you think it could be because I stream music from cool Google play music ?
Usually bad battery (especially when it happens out of nowhere) is due to an app causing drain. There are apps that tell you what's eating battery (including the built in meter), the best of which is Better Battery Stats, which you can get for free from the XDA thread.
Sent from an N4 blessed with AOKP and sanctified by Faux123!
yup, majority of the time its an app(s). battery life mostly has to do with your setup, the apps that you chose to install, things that check for notifications in the background, and the way that you use your device. take control of your apps, and their/your setup, and your battery life should be good, no matter what rom/kernel youre on. greenify is a good app to help you get control of your apps.
Check your cord if its faulty, I had a faulty stock cord before telling me my phone was at 100% and when I unplugged it and used it, it went down to 50%
Changed cord, everything was fine.
Do you use a wireless charger? For me 90% of the time it creates a wakelock that won't allow the phone to go into deep sleep. That will hurt battery. If it releases that wakelock or I reboot my phone battery life is phenomenal.

hows your data signal? anyways, thats not normal. disable auto brightness, if your battery is still draining like that, then its not the auto brightness. in that case, its most likely an app, or apps.

The best you can do is to post a screenshot as someone said before. Besides of this, if you have Google Services/Android System battery drain, you can go here:

Hope it helps.

[Q] Is this normal?

I've upgraded from a Gingerbread recently and now I have the S4 mini. The battery usage after deleting, freezing and "greenifying" apps is bugging compared to my experience. Is there something that can be done? I don't like powering off the phone when I go to bed since the alarm won't work and f charging overnight, too green for that.
Just realized I posted this in the wrong forum, if a mod could please move this to the S4 Mini forum

I mean that it bothers me.
And I've tried that and really, I don't notice any bad wakelocks, everything looks normal yet the battery won't go 24 hours
Anyone?
The big gap where there is no mobile signal was this on airplane more or something?

Same here
I also have low battery usage in omega v21.1. I always have 4G or WiFi on, and don't use it that much while at work, only whats app, some web browsing and PDF and autosync for mails and any do however I get to the end of the afternoon without battery. I've tried different batteries, greenify and intelli3g but nothing seems to help and this has happened with other roms too.

Yes! I use to put the phone on airplane mode when I go to bed.
Has anyone gotten to save more power on airplane mode?

[Q] Nexus 4 KitKat 4.4.4 battery drain

Since a few weeks I'm experiencing excessive battery drain on my stock Android Nexus 4.
What I tried without succes:
Switching from Chrome to Dolphin Browser
Lowering screen brightness
Lowering screen timeout
In the attachment you can find screenshots from monitoring app GSAM after half a day usage.
Mainly did some browsing, partly on 3G.
How to find out if the culprit is some background process, some app or some Android 4.4.* update?
First, you need an add blocker. If you're rooted try adaway. Google it.
I don't see anything terrible there. You're signals look good. But they're usually the main problem. If you had low Wi-Fi or data signals they could have caused your issue. The browser looks a little high relative to your screen on so maybe that's a little bit of an issue. Is this a one time occurrence or is it typical?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Free mobile app
Thanks for the tip.
I've been using home WiFi and the best 3G provider of my country, so in theory the signal should be healthy.
The day before yesterday the phone shut down after 8-9 hours being on, of which 3 - 3,5 hours active usage.
While browsing I see the battery dropping about 1% per minute. This is since about 2 weeks (not sure whether it's since a certain Android update).
I've read some user complaints about battery usage with the recent Android updates, but not about solutions.
I'll attach new screenshots from GSAM later today when the battery is almost empty.
how do i wipe the battery status on nexus 4?
