[Q] Touch screen has stopped responding - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Today I placed the G2 down on my wireless charger and now the touchscreen has stopped responding. I can still use the power on-off to get to the screen to restart the device but I can't actually restart the device because I can't touch that option.
Has anyone else experienced this? How do I reset the device if I can't use the touchscreen?

Bizarreā€¦ In frustration I tapped multiple fingers on the screen and it started responding to touch input again.

That is strange... I wonder if there's a hard reset function on this phone of something like that happens? I know on the old droid razr you could hold down certain keys and it would reboot the phone (since it didn't have a removable battery either)

Touch screen not responding

When my HD2 returns from standby (switched on by the right hand button) the touchscreen is sometimes unresponsive. At first this just seemed like a short delay so I ignored it but this week it has refused to allow me to unlock it. The screen seems to be frozen.
I have tried turning the HD2 of and on - not completely off as I can't get to this function without being able to use the screen - and if I do this enough the screen will suddenly become responsive. The problem even survives a soft reset.
Yesterday, I decided to do a hard reset thinking I have done one reg tweak too many. After that the screen seemed fine and I could return the HD2 from stand by okay by sliding the 'lock' button. This morning the problem has reappeared and I again find that the screen will not respond to touch but then suddenly seems to work.
Anyone had the same problem or have any suggestions?
Thanks
I have the same problem as you on my brand new HD2. Did you allread have a solution for that?
folks, do report your issues here .. i have a feeling that this is a known hardware issue by HTC and they are just keeping veru quiet about this.

Re-calibrating Touch Screen?

I am wondering if there is any way to recalibrate the touch screen on the surround? It seems that it keeps on reading that I am touching it when I am not and I am not sure what is causing it. I tried resetting the phone to defaults but that did not help. Any help is appreciated.
Do you have a case on it and or a screen protector. This might be causing pressure on the screen not sure but just a thougth. Otherwise send it back and get a new one.
I had the same problem and tried reset from within the phone that should clear everything and it did not work. With the phone powered off I held both volume up and down in and pressed power and released it and got into the bootloader screen and chose to do a master clear and it worked. Mine was acting funny not seeing the P key I would press it and nothing but been working ever since.

Xperia Mini Pro Touchscreen Not Responding

Hey Guys..
Recently my Xperia Mini Pro touchscreen started to not respond. First it began as I slide out the HW keyboard the touch screen was not responsive. Then I slide the HW keyboard back in. It was normal. The shortly after, In the normal keyboard position the touch screen began not to respond. It sometimes responds. Mostly its stuck. I can navigate and operate the phone using the HW keyboard. But touch is not working. Sometimes i can fix it by holding the power key and bringing up the menu for shutdown and selecting shutdown with the HW keyboard out and the after switching to normal mode and cancelling it. Then the touch responsiveness comes back. But this doesn;t work all the time. I have updated the OS via PC companion and did a repair and completely reset the phone. But the problem still remains. Can some one please help me out. IS this problem fixable? then how can i fix it. Do i have to change the phone completely. is it useless now.. I need urgent help. If there are any tips, methods to fix this or at least understand what happened and how, I would appreciate it greatly. Thanks in advance.

Touchscreen either stops responding or doesn't touch where I'm actually touching

So today I just started having this issue out of the blue. Sometimes the touchscreen and the capacitive buttons stop responding and most times when I touch a part of the screen it shows me as touching another part of it.
If I lock the phone then unlock with the power button, it'll be fine for a bit then happen again.
Is this issue known and is there a fix for it?

LG G2 won't tap on and laggy keyboard

Hi everyone,
I've recently started having an intermittent problem with my G2 where it won't respond to a double tap on the screen but will wake up if the power button is pressed. The screen comes on but is dim and the keyboard is laggy yet the apps seem to work ok. If I restart the phone it works fine. Sometimes this problem occurs after the phone has been on charge but other times it just happens with no obvious reason. There does not appear to be any reason for it happening and I cannot pin down what is causing it.
