Best Nintendo emulator - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey, I'm looking for the best emulator to run the legend of zelda but don't want a hog of a program. I know emulators can be pretty large and inefficient so I'm wondering if anyone knows of a good light one

I think you posted this in the wrong area, wouldn't this be general Android apps? This isn't specific to the G2.
That being said, I'll still answer the question.
I don't know about 'light' emulators, per se, but you do find different qualities of apps. Mainly because some are mere ports and some are good, ARM-based apps. "Legend of Zelda" doesn't tell me what system you want to run...
If you visit the Coolrom page on your phone for the version of Zelda you want, the recommended emulator that they post for whatever system you're looking at is good. Off the top of my head, that'd be:
-DraStic (DS Emulator)
-SuperGNES (SNES)
-Super N64 (Nintendo 64)
Good luck!

you want the emulator for PC or Android???
I personally use n64oid v2.7 i play both the legend of zelda ocarina of time and the legend of zelda majoras mask without any glitches or laggs.

Galaxy S can play PS2 games?

I read the ps2 gets up to 66milliion triangles/sec while the galaxy s is 90
So this must mean it could play them smoother than ps2??
We just need an emulator?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
I have no idea if that's true or not, but the reality is even if the GPU is more powerful that doesn't mean that the Galaxy S could play PS2 games well at all. The PS2 has a very specific dedicated graphics chip and processor. You'd have to emulate that hardware which takes up even more processing power. It's apples to oranges.
You could probably find a way to make it happen but I'm sure it wouldn't be easy and it wouldn't be flawless. Unless Sony released something on the Android PS Phone. That's about the only way I could see anything happening.
quick answer no.
long answer, emulation requires a cpu that is 10x as fast as the console thats being emulated.
Unfortunately the phone doesn't just have to run the game, it has to pretend to be a ps2 running the game, which is much more difficult. A modern desktop has trouble emulating ps2 games, so even the best phone doesn't stand a chance.
wait for 5-10 years.

Na not possible.
There's a reason you have to buy those 30 gig memory cards for ps2.

Jetpack Joyride

Does anyone know whether this game is available for our phone? Also can anyone reccomend me a game similar to that game.
Also what games can you reccomend me to play?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
I am sure it will come to Android eventually.
I have looked for similar but found nothing like it . I thought that by now developers would start preferring android over iOS considering we have a greater market share on smartphones.
Exactly, Developers can get a lot of money from Android as it is a huge share of the app markets.

Try Run Run Bear. It is similar to Jetpack Joyride.

'slide me' marketplace has the latest n64oid. Its a paid version and works with all my games.... unlike the old version I downloaded from the original marketplace. Works great and you can also add hi Res texture packs.

Best emulators from their category:
Nesoid - nintendo emulator (bt/wifi multiplayer option)
Snesoid - super nintendo emulator (bt/wifi multiplayer option)
N64oid - nintendo 64 emulator
Fpse - playstation emulator
Gameboid - gameboy advance emulator
Gensoid - sega genesis emulator (bt/wifi multiplayer option)
The better device u've got, the better chances for fluid multiplayer game because it requires more cpu power to emulate game and sync connection at the same time.

Just a couple of app questions...

So Im looking for a couple apps, I used to have some emulators on my phone... nes, snes, 64 and psx. I loved em. Can't find them anymore, however. Anyone know of any good ones for the a500?
Also looking for a decent home launcher app. Using the paid version of adw right now, and its ok, I just can't seem to find any themes for it that look good on a tablet.
Any help with either topic would be very much appreciated!
Sent from my a500 using XDA pro.
id love to find a good home launcher app as well
I broke down and bought spb shell 3d... it actually was worth the high price. Sure, they should add some theming options, and a little more customization would be nice... but over all, its a nice app.

For emulators go to slideme.org. do a search for "yongzh". All of his emulators that i have tried has worked. They are all free except for theN64 emulator
Sent from my EPAD using Tapatalk
Gameboid is a awesome gba emulator.. works perfectly and its free..
spb shell isnt that good in my opinion because its eats all your ram.. it gets killed in backgroud if youre using games, etc (ram hungry apps) and it takes a long time to restart^^

[Q] What is the best way to play N64 games?

I've installed N64oid on my Nexus 4 and tried to run Ocarina of Time. Though it is decent, there is still a lot of frame drop. My assumption is that the phone shouldn't have any problem given the specs it has and that there is something that I can do to make this run a lot smoother.
Try this emulator.

It doesn't matter how powerful the phone is if the emulator isn't 100% flawless.
