Anyone else tried this out? It's not near as good as stock android Google bubble photos... LG's looks distorted can't wait for some custom roms to fix LG's screw ups. You guys think the Google bubble photos will be made available in custom roms?
what's a bubble photo? you mean photosphere ? you can download the aosp camera and use it for those...

Can someone recommend me a really good camera app which I can use instead of the stock app? I have used Camera Zoom but that somehow cuts my photos from the corners when the front cam is used.
I am primarily looking for a camera app with a timer...which it seems isn't included in our stock camera.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, and thanks in advance to anyone who replies.

I quite like Snap Camera.

If you want full control of camera parameters, I recommend Camera FV-5.
I use Shot Control, because it has full exposure controls:
- Multiple Touch Focus/Meter regions on ICS (on supported devices with Android 4.0)
- Direct access to exposure control and zoom
- One tap access to ISO, White Balance, Scene Modes, Focus Modes, and Flash Mode Settings (based on device abilities)
- Custom mapping for hardware buttons (like volume down for focus, volume up for shutter)
- Pre-focus function
It's built for photographers who know how to manipulate DSLRs.
I don't think it has a timer, though, but the Dev is super responsive so I'm sure if you requested it, he'd add it.
ProCapture Pro has it all.

I am using Shot Control. If you are looking for an app that takes perfect shots with just one click, this may not be for you.
I'm telling you all, try ProCapture. Best camera app available.

I really liked using LG quickmemo app in the stock ROM. I'm now using cm10.2, has anyone got the apk for quick memo? I've tried searching but I've had no luck finding it. Maybe I'm the only one who got use from it?
I thought it was excellent for editing screenshots.
+1
But I'm not sure if it supports ROM other than stock without modification

It needs the lg framework so I doubt we will see it on aosp

i didn't think it was possible to port the G2 camera app to AOSP without lg framework either, but these amazing devs somehow made that work...
holding out hope for quick memo as well.
anyone know of a play store app that mimics it's functionality?
camera apk?

Hello guys,
I am new here so wanted to know if there is a working Android Kitkat Camera APK for a non root LG G2.
Photosphere in LG G2 Stock Camera is not that good for me and I wanted to make use of the Camera app used by Nexus 5.
If anyone can point me in the right direction, i'd appreciate it.
Thanks,

Similar question except on ROOTED phone.
I'm running AOKP Nightly from 2/8/14, but the camera options only let me adjust to 8MP which seems kind of a waste on a 13MP camera. Any suggestions on fixing this (app or instructions on flashing apk)?
Thanks in advance

Hey folks!
The recently published new camera app from Google has some nice features. Unfortunately, as many other camera apps for the G2, this camera app lacks in picture quality in comparison to the G2 stock camera and its derivatives...
I'm not a developer but I thought that maybe it would be possible to modify the GoogleCamere to shoot better pictures using our beloved G2...
What do you think?
Bye, Spatz

Why not just use one of the posted g2 camera mods? They're already optimized.

Because,
1. most of them are only updated for stock roms and
2. the don't have those nice new functions like focus control, that the new GoogleCamera offers...
The camera mods change more than just the camera app.
I find the Google camera just as good as far as basic photo quality.
Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
Most of the optimisations in the camera of OEM phones is in the app, but many are in the Kernel. Without both you will never get the same level of quality.
Porting them over is just not possible since its not just about settings, but also drivers and often you will not get the benefit of the drivers without the OEM app.
I wouldn't mind only a mod to select 16:9 for pictures instead of only 4:3 formats.

Well, you could try asking xdabbeb, but I believe he's tried it before. There is however, a stock camera apk which works very well with AOSP.
I too look forward to seeing the G3 cam ported to AOSP. One of the major things I miss from those roms
+1 searching for the G3 camera app...
The particular feature I am after (maybe someone knows another way to get it?) is the result you get in the gallery, so to speak, from using burst mode. The G3 cam and gallery app have each set of burst photos clumped together almost like a little short slide show. It allows you to select and save the ones that you would like to keep and easily discard the rest.
Any ideas?
