As the topic suggests, is it possible to run big file games from your SD card? Is there a way that the game knows to read from the obb file in the SD card, and not the one in the internal storage?

You could update to MF3 and use the app 2 sd feature, That doesnt always work for me though. You could also use GL 2 SD its free on the play store and youll need root, but that is easy to use and it works well for me.
Ahhh, I just downloaded gl2sd and its awesome! Thanks so much

Or just standard SD, which gives FCs when you move apps to the SD card (the data.img is read by the system as being internal storage). Not too sure about NativeSD but I think apps should work fine on that when placed on the SD card.
Yes, i have standart Micro sd. I do not now that problem.. When i move little apps on sd they work greatly būt when some bigger app (example - 15mb,yeah) thats notiks work and only said "not responding" and i have only once chance to force close that app.

I have just migrated from GS2 to the GS4,
Why cant i move Apps to extSD card to enable me to free-up more of the internal SD memory like i could with the S2??
The option was removed in ics/jb (not sure which version exactly) because Google think that microSD card aren't reliable enough.

I know something called redpill was available for the galaxy note, which changed the external SD card with the internal SD memory and somehow enabled users to move apps across to the external SD Card thought something might be available for the S4 by now??

you can use folder mount from play store. But need to be rooted first. This app works even with GS4.

Hi there,
How do I move games to sd card? Tried to Need for speed which is over 1GB inn size. But when I pressed move to sd card, only few mb were moved. Can someone explain to me, how to do it properly.
Edit: it is not only Need for speed who do not want to move, but other games too.

That's because it only moves the app itself to the external sd card, not the data of the game.
For moving those files I'd recommend using foldermount. It does require root tho.
If you are already rooted however, you can find it at the playstore.

But how do I know where the data of the is located?

Most of the times it's either located at /storage/sdcard0/android/obb or at /storage/sdcard0/android/data.
You can use any file Explorer to look where the files are located.

This app called 'My Device Storage Analyzer' helps nicely in finding where big files and data directories are hidden :good:
I read recently in the papers that there's a way of being able to install Apps onto a SD card in the phone instead of on the device due most of the internal memory being taken up with all kinds of crap.
If so, how do I do it if I install a custom ROM as I'm planning on rooting the phone ASAP and putting in a 64gb microSD card of which there should be plenty of space to install games onto it.
You can transfer app from internal memory to SD card with app.

So if I use a App like App2SD, there shouldn't be a maximum size limit on installing apps to the SD card, except the one for the SD card itself, I take it?
You are correct

To be clear, the stock app to sd implementation is extremely limited. You only move the apk. All of the app's data still resides on your internal

These new restrictions were introduced with Android 4.4. Lots of info out there, e.g. here
