Which location setting is needed for the weather widget? - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

As the title says, which location setting needs to be turned on for the stock weather to work correctly and update when you go to a different location? As of now it says "current location service temporarily unavailable" when I refresh the widget.
I was having battery life problems, so I turned off every location based setting on the phone, but I want to at least turn the single one on that makes this widget work.
Thanks!

Sorry to keep bumping, but does anyone know which location setting to turn on to accomplish this?

Pretty sure it needs the one main settings under location.

Turn off WiFi notification

Is there any way to turn off the wifi message in the ongoing section of the drop down menu, when you are connected to a network? I can't find a way to disable it and its taking up precious space on my bar.

I beleive he's talking about the notification in the pull down menu that shows the wifi he's currently connected to, not the open network notification.
It bugs me too. I don't think we can take it off.

Help with Google Now

Hey guys so I was using Google now last week and it worked great. I remember turning off the "Access location via mobile or wifi data" When I turned that back on, I noticed that all my location based cards are gone. Anyone know what to do?

Lock screen apps

How do we change which apps are on the lock screen. I cannot find the settings anywhere.
I want to add Gmail to there since that is the main notification that lights up.

Right there in settings where ud think it would be.... I understand though, sometimes we just overlook something no matter how long we search for it...

Where is it? I still don't see it. Can you take a screenshot of it for me. It's not there.

Shortcuts, right under wallpaper in settings/lockscreen. U must have swipe to unlock, as unlock type to get these options I think...

thank you. I had face to unlock so the apps shortcut was gone

[ISSUE] Battery drain com.google.process.location

So, I'm trying to pinpoint exactly what keeps using this process (com.google.process.location) any ideas? I've looked at other threads... No luck. I do use Google now... Would this affect this even if I've placed location history and location reporting off? Another app which I think is the issue is "find my friends" would this happen to be using up my location even though I have put the location reporting off in Google settings? Thanks for any help.

However, I don't want to always have to put on and off location settings when I use something like maps.

Your not turning off your GPS. Your turning off the wireless network which cause the Google services drain.

I think I solved such an issue on one of our s4 by uninstalling maps app (restore original) and reinstalling

Lte icon won't go away

Can anyone tell me why my LTE icon will not go away. Did I enable something in settings? It wasn't that way until about a week ago.

My wife's has the same issue, and I have compared the deepest settings. I am a geek FWIW. I haven't tried rooting and/or reset though.

I don't know if this is why or not, but I always have a LTE symbol anymore, even on WiFi it doesn't go away. However it wasn't always like this. I noticed it happen immediately after my trial ran out for the Verizon caller id and I agreed to purchase it for 3 bucks a month. Once I did that I noticed I started getting the LTE symbol always. I just assumed it's normal because of caller Id?
Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
I would say not. Neither of us has purchased the caller ID app.

Just disabled that caller ID App and now it's gone. Weird.

It's the caller ID app that causes it. Disable it or if your rooted delete it.

Confirmed on my wifes! I disabled it on the first day.
