I go to the gym a lot and see quite a few people with iPods strapped to their arms. Some have their iPhones as well.
I'm wondering if there is an arm strap that would fit the Titan (xv6800) even if it is not entirely designed for it.
I'm planning on using my Motorola Bluetooth headset to rock out while I work out. So access to buttons is not really needed. Just touch screen.
THere is no item that fits or no one exercises?

Who has time to workout?!?!? I am always tweaking my phone and installing all these updated ROMS !!
What is this "exercise" you speak of?

I just ordered an arm band from ebay. It hasn't come in yet so I can't comment on it but I'll certainly let you know how I like it.
Try this.....you can usually pick some up relatively cheap. Not the most stylish.....but hey, it works for everything!
well I was going to recommend a shoe string but I think the duck tape is the ultimate solution. Way to go McGuyver. I looked around (only foir a short period) and did not see any type or workout strap for that phone. Perhaps a universal or generic case/strap would be better. I'll keep my eyes open.
Another solution is to somehow extend your bluetooth range (that is if you're staying in one general area) and just wear your headset instead so you dont have to carry your phone around.
ipods look fine strapped to arms, but the mogul is too big and heavy. I wouldn't trust any strap to hold this titan down. Even if it doesn't fly off at high velocity, it might get bumped on machinery.
The only true solution would be wolverine-style adamantium bone-grafted mogul holder with mini-usb and audio connectors.
It's only a matter of time people. Don't just hold your phone, click it onto your skeleton!
What?!??? Isn't carrying this brick around work-out enough?!???!???
The armband from ebay came in and it works fine (look for iphone sport and you'll find it) It's definitely a tight fit but there is absolutely no chance of it coming out. $6 shipped.
I also read on PPC geeks that the dimensions of the original Zune are similar. So a sports band for the Zune will probably work too
I use the stock holster, i put it on my back and work out! I have the motorola s9 bluetooth. So far no uissues at all.
I bought one for the Zune and use that...it works pretty well

Get this, I have it and it works great; great for running and everything else. Touchscreen works too.

So here in buffalo we had the Chase Corporate Challenge this past week. I was pretty excited to have my evo, both for music, and to use as a timer (if you've ever walked/run the corporate challenge, you know that you'll never get an accurate time unless you take time tracking into your own hands). Not being much of a runner (besides occasional run-ins with the treadmill at the gym) I hadn't gone jogging with my phone before, so I was pretty dismayed when my phone started to completely act up on me.
First off, my music kept skipping and going to the next track. On top of that, for some reason, my phone kept going into voice search mode. Lastly I discovered that the route/timing tracking software I was using must have gotten itself paused for a large chunk of my run in the middle... completely losing where I was and ruining any chance at getting a real time for my run. What made it even worse is about 80% of my company is iPhone users... so the whole thing was pretty embarrassing.
I have a few theories that I need to test as to why it acted so flaky... I kept it in my pocket the whole time. After the run when I was diagnosing, I noticed that when I jiggled the headphone plug, the phone would pause/play the music and sometimes go into voice command mode. I can only imagine that on top of that, the power button must have kept getting pressed when it was flying around in my pocket and somehow my thigh was hitting the pause/play button on the lockscreen. As for the route tracking software, I have no idea... it probably got confused when my phone kept doing all the other things.
So this post is partly a rant, but I'd like to know, has anyone else gone running with their phone? Have their adventures been more successful than mine? And what the heck is up with the voice command thing? Maybe it was the headphones I was using sending odd signals somehow through the jack? Does anyone have any ideas there? At some point I want to get a pair of BT stereo headphones, but it seems like even then not all my problems will be solved... Very annoyed.
At least the good news is I think I came in first out of the "XXL" category here in buffalo... if only they tracked the results by weight, I'd be a superstar
I have no idea if this would cause a problem because I haven't researched how it works, but I wonder if the phone's proximity switch could cause problems when jogging/running.
You should try and get a waist band thing for it or look for something that you can put it on your arm. Just something that can hold it securely in one place.
this has been covered exhaustively, unfortunately not many people seem to care
or they haven't tried the headphone jack out yet.

Hey
Check out the "list of issues" thread in this forum. #6 sounds like yours

been running 2 times with music on and using my tracks... everything was perfect.
I jog 4 miles a day and lift weights. Never had those issues. Maybe its just you.
sounds like a bad headphone jack
I run and bike with my EVO and it has been a pleasure. I recommend using CardioTrainer as your work out recorder. It does a great job and even speaks over your music at set intervals to tell you how far you have in what amount of time. It also auto pauses your workout if you take a break and automatically uploads all of the data to a private website.
I went running with my Evo for the first time today.
I strapped it on to am arm band.
It felt a little large at first, but got used to it on my arm after a few minutes.
I played music and also ran Google's "MyTracks" software.
MyTracks uses GPS to log your run and reports all kinds of stats (Pace, Avg moving time, Distance, etc).
I had absolutely no problems.
I agree with other posters that you should try to get an arm band or a belt.
It almost sounds like you were hitting the bottom 4 buttons, but i don't think that is it.
I was listening to music through the headphone jack on my home stereo earlier today and noticed some of the same ****. No skipping, but the song would change by themselves. Happened like 5 times in the course of a couple of hours. Strange.
Just as a side note the BT headphones I have work almost flawless, it's awesome.
the problem with the headphones jack is that it is like the one for the nexus, and the nexus comes with headphones that control playing (play/pause, skip forward/backward). standard headphones don't have the contact that mediates those controls, so when the jack jostles around, it hits that contact point, and causes the skipping issue. as far as i know, only solution is to use a set of headphones with those controls.
which is why i kept the headphones from the N1 when i sold it.
I would never put my EVO in my pocket when I run. In my opinion, a tight belt clip or an arm band are the only solutions.

Sent from my HTC EVO 4G using Tapatalk Pro.
Thanks for all the suggestions. It definitely does seem to be a headphone jack issue, as the phone is constantly getting signals to activate voice dialing. I saw there was a DIY mod on android forums that involved bending one of the headphone contacts... I'm trying to decide if I want to try that or just find a set of nexus-style headphones until I get the BT set (BT stereo headphones are pretty pricey so I need to do research before I just throw down $100-200 on a set).
I could try finding an armband... but this thing is huge. good thing I have big arms? Seems more reasonable than a belt clip though, as I don't exactly have a flat stomach lol... seems that having something there while running would be pretty uncomfortable!
How do you run with it in your pocket? Unless you're wearing spandex...
I run with mine but I just hold it in my hand. But I never run more than 5k.
Definitely a headphone problem. If you have crappy headphones with bad contacts or wires, it will confuse the EVO into thinking you are pressing remote buttons on the inline remote.
Also...how do you run with it in your pockets? That would annoy the crap out of me with all the un-anchored weight and probably some chaffing.
where can I get an armband for it?
There are also a number of apps fir the EVO that execute things like skipping songs, taking screen shots, etc by shaking the phone.
It sounds like one of those was running in the background.

I have normal running shorts but I've been wearing lightweight cotton plaid golf-type shorts for running recently. They're almost as light as the running shorts and they have deep narrow pockets... didn't bother me at all. Of course I also mentioned that I'm a large guy, so maybe all the fat on my thighs acts as a barrier so it doesn't annoy me haha.
I'm searching for taught mountain bike holder for Nexus 4, but i can't find any suitable. All of them have in description, that it isn't good for this use. I need perfect grip, because I can't lose phone, when I do a bigger jump. Does anyone have any idea?
Thanks for any answer. I hope, I post it in right forum.
Very interested my self.
Right now I just have a pouch on top of the frame / and seat post which is okay but would like what you are looking for.

I'm waiting for my local bike shop to get the Timbuk 2 Goody Box back in stock. They had them last summer but sold out before I could get one.
The Goody Box mounts to your top tube and your headset, and sits above the bar. It's got a large window pocket on top for your phone.
Interested in this as well. Bonus points if it can cleanly accommodate a battery pack/charger as well.
A man's gotta Ingress at optimum levels, neh?
Maybe get this case since it has a metal machined screw mount on the back. Use it with a C-Clamp from hardware store to mount?
Or email rokform and see if they plan to make a Nexus 4 case. They have a nice bike mount for their cases.
I use this
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B008CMWY66/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i00
You can use it through the case and is waterproof. I also put a battery pack behind it and use a right angled USB cable. So I can use the cycle streets app using offline maps and it lasts a good 8 hours or so with the screen on.
Wow I'm assuming you guys never fall/ land everything. Even on the street curb/ bunny hopping, I'd probably either lose the phone or crash. Haha
I had this one from ridermounth
http://www.ridermount.com/Images/productimages/sm032.jpg
The nexus 4 won't fit there (at least my gnexus was a pain to fit there, so...).
THey have some for the s3, send them a mail.

I got a phone mount for the bike a few months ago. The grip is strong enough to hold the phone but the mount was not heavy enough to absorb any vibrations. The whole thing kept vibrating like crazy. Make sure to get a heavy duty mount that can dampen any vibrations.
i came from Htc one X and i was using kidigi car mount, and was nice because i just need to "dock" in the mount no need to "plug" the wire like in universal mount. i read here about wireless car charger but not sure, its kind expensive and im kind temted for htc one (and this phone does not have wireless charging capabilities) so im not sure if i should buy. i was thinking something like this

i heard about clingo but not sure how many "uses" you need before the need for wash. so anyone knows a good car mount? should i buy for n4 or universal? if you had a link would be nice (ebay ) because amazon its to expensive to my country =X
Thanks a lot

I always go universal, personally. Because I can probably use the same mount down the road or my wife's phone can fit in it as well. The one you listed is good but also I like the iottie universal mounts as well.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/iOttie-Easy...716445?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item27cf4df1dd
These have the "gel" cups rather than the plain suction cups that easily warp in the hot sun. The gel pads are really sticky like the clingo, but the suction cup can be wiped clean with a damp lint free cloth to reconstitute the adhesive gel it uses. I use two different car mounts.
One is the Kropsson Aero which fits both my N7 (naked) and N4. I since cut the cushion pads down so that I can use it with my N7 with the Seidio Active case on lol.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/AER-jumiss-...040?pt=GPS_Holders_Mounts&hash=item4605c94078
And my second go to mount is mainly for my N7, the Xenomix NX2000 because even though I can use the above kropsson, the N7 does slightly obstruct my view. This Xenomix hangs off the dash a bit and keeps the N7 out of sight and I can clearly see out. Another 'good' thing is that I can use this with my N4 as well. I say "good" because you can't charge the phone while using this, the ports are covered lol.

The Aero is not meant to be placed on the windshield. In that respect look for the iottie's with the cushioned grips that can do both windshield and dash.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/iOttie-Easy...686615?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item51a00ef857
This is the "one touch" mounts. Where you just press the phone back slightly will release the grips. This is similar to the Aero I have. I just don't like putting suction cups on my windshield.

Best car mount?
If you want the best, be prepared to pay for the best.
http://www.proclipusa.com/
Look up the different DEVICE holder for the Nexus 4.
Look to find a mount suited for your VEHICLE.
I got the swivel mount for my accord and it came up to about $80. It's a bit on the pricier side, but these are truly the BEST mounts you will ever use, hands down.
Regards,
100% agree that Proclip (US name for Brodit) are the best mounts you can get. They're pricey but worth it.
I'm actually looking to sell my Nexus 4 mount with integrated charger, so shoot me a PM if you're interested in a bit of a cheaper price (you'll still need the vehicle plate). I'm only getting rid of mine since I've started using a case for my phone instead of going naked.

They are nice, my issue is that if I need a mount for my car and I can simply move from car to car without worry if the proclip will fit. From my understanding proclips fit a specific car model. So not really universal when you can use it in one model of a vehicle. So I'll need to buy two of these mounts to make it work and while worthwhile in the long run, 1. Is too expensive, 2. and what if I need to buy a new/different car for whatever reason?
And can you use different cases with these mounts? I see the one that can fit "some cases" but there's a limit there. A 40 plus 30 clip for each car, makes it about $140usd to be used each car.
Those factors alone, keep "ME" from buying it.

seems like the phones, new phones new cases and accs xD but yeah they are specific as far i see. iOttie seems good pick
They have a system to swap the mount from car-to-car but you'll still need the car specific mount in each car, so if you're constantly swapping they don't really make sense.

I use a ballistic case and the garmin gps holders grip it real well. There are two small cut outs in the sides of the case that aid in the grip.
They're only a few bucks on ebay or like $20 at best buy.
I'm using the Mountek mount that goes inside the CD drive. I don't use CD's anymore so it doesn't get in my way. I think it's a little pricey but totally worth it. Depending on your console it may get in the way of some of your buttons which it doesn't on my car. Also, some cars (such as my grandma's) have the CD slot lower in the console and the phone would be too low for me.
Mountek nGroove
I almost went with the Exogear Exomount 2 but I didn't think it would stick to my dashboard since it's textured and contoured a bit.

I use the mount for maps and with a OBD2 Adapter. Now I just need the Jabra Cruiser 2 to go on sale so I can have a complete setup.

It doesn't slide but there is a considerable amount of tilt. You wouldn't be able to hide it from someone in the back seat but the person in the passenger seat would have to move in order to look at the screen. Again, this probably depends on how your console is set up, mine is dead center.

The phone is at a perfect height for me. For maps I don't look at the screen very often because the turn by turn directions are enough most of the time. Calls are not perfect with the speaker phone or with voice commands (I have to scream to the phone) that's why I need to buy a bluetooth speaker phone.

I have a similar setup in my Truck. I have a JVC head unit that has an external AUX port where my HTC Car Stereo stick goes to stream stuff from my N4 or N7. Use either Aero or Xenomix mount for my device, or none at all and to answer any calls, I use a Parrot Minikit Neo. This little guy goes to deep sleep and wakes up when the door opens or closes and I customized it with a greeting and signing off greeting which greets my 4 yr old when we get in the truck. She loves it lol.

Hi!
I'm really tempted to buy the LTE model of this tablet... and use it full time as a phone?!
Is there anyone else doing this? Do you feel silly holding it out in public?
Obviously, it wouldn't be getting held up to my ear (I know there's no speaker to do that anyway).
I was just wondering what other people's experiences are in using it as one!
Thanks.
If you're using it with a Bluetooth headset I don't see the problem. As far as tablets go, this is quite compact and slim. You would need some kind of bag through to carry it around. I couldn't imagine having it in my hand all the time. Its big to fit in a pocket.

I've had to use mine as an emergency backup phone as I lost my regular phone a couple weeks ago. It works pretty well, and the top speaker actually works like a receiver earpiece if you decide to use it without a headset. Of course it looks really awkward, and I was getting these strange stares on the Seoul metro, so I wouldn't recommend it.
I've been using this as my phone in the US for several months now, and it's behaved just fine, it's the same resolution as phones twice its price and hspa+ has been more than adequate for my purposes.
A word of warning though... I've been keeping it in my pocket, I generally have large pockets, but in so doing it seems I've warped the frame a little, the screen is very slightly separated from the frame in one corner of the device. So I would try to find some way to carry it externally.
Thanks guys!
