I'm searching for taught mountain bike holder for Nexus 4, but i can't find any suitable. All of them have in description, that it isn't good for this use. I need perfect grip, because I can't lose phone, when I do a bigger jump. Does anyone have any idea?
Thanks for any answer. I hope, I post it in right forum.
Very interested my self.
Right now I just have a pouch on top of the frame / and seat post which is okay but would like what you are looking for.

I'm waiting for my local bike shop to get the Timbuk 2 Goody Box back in stock. They had them last summer but sold out before I could get one.
The Goody Box mounts to your top tube and your headset, and sits above the bar. It's got a large window pocket on top for your phone.
Interested in this as well. Bonus points if it can cleanly accommodate a battery pack/charger as well.
A man's gotta Ingress at optimum levels, neh?
Maybe get this case since it has a metal machined screw mount on the back. Use it with a C-Clamp from hardware store to mount?
Or email rokform and see if they plan to make a Nexus 4 case. They have a nice bike mount for their cases.
I use this
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B008CMWY66/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i00
You can use it through the case and is waterproof. I also put a battery pack behind it and use a right angled USB cable. So I can use the cycle streets app using offline maps and it lasts a good 8 hours or so with the screen on.
Wow I'm assuming you guys never fall/ land everything. Even on the street curb/ bunny hopping, I'd probably either lose the phone or crash. Haha
I had this one from ridermounth
http://www.ridermount.com/Images/productimages/sm032.jpg
The nexus 4 won't fit there (at least my gnexus was a pain to fit there, so...).
THey have some for the s3, send them a mail.
They were very good and waterproof
I seen this one i dont know if it fits the nexus 4!

I got a phone mount for the bike a few months ago. The grip is strong enough to hold the phone but the mount was not heavy enough to absorb any vibrations. The whole thing kept vibrating like crazy. Make sure to get a heavy duty mount that can dampen any vibrations.

Dumb question perhaps, but I haven't had the chance to actually get my hands on a demo. Is the Note too big to comfortably carry with you while running?
Baaj,
I've had the GNote for the past 10 days and yes, it is big. People always gawk and stare at me and inevitably will pass a comment on its size.
But really, it's apparently the in-thing to go big. Big homes, big cars, big watches etc. I absolutely love this phone especially for its screen size and don't intend to be intimidated by these guys who don't know the value of having such great screen real estate.
Having said all the above, and I have to say that running with it may cause you problems. But to me, it's more because of my concern for the device itself. With such a size, you may find it difficult to care for it well enough. It'll be bouncing around and may even fall off and that is the main problem.
My advice... Get an iPod Nano for the running, and and keep the Note for every other thing out there.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using XDA App
I have not seen armbands for the Note yet, but as long as your arms are not super skinny, just use a armband.
The Nano or shuffle is a great idea too.
Have you taken a look at the MotoACTV?(expensive, but awesome!)
I use a BT headset at the gym and just least the note nearby(small gym)
But when I run I use my oldschool 1st gen ipod shuffle. I loaded it up with my fav tracks already, and I just loose myself when I run anyway....I don't want to be distracted by text's for facebook updates untill after I finish my run. Otherwise I get distracted and slow to a walk while I try and reply to a message"real fast". It totally those it off.
Now if you want to use those running apps to track your run that's different.
I have the exact same dilemma and concerns, so much so, that I was considering settling for the galaxy nexus and all its shortcomings just because it seems a little easier to hold. We'll have to use armbands, I wonder if they'll work though..
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
I've been running with my Gnote since I've had it. I bought an Aquapac (large arm band) and it works well, did a 9 mile run with it the other day, just needs the arm band modding a bit for my skinny runners arms. I also use a backpack for my longer runs and it fits perfectly in the front mesh pocket.
And you can't beat running new trails using the ViewRanger app on that big screen.
Cheers
Andrew
Hey there, I go running a fair bit and was a apprehensive as you about the size of the Note for this.
Luckily I have a running jacket that has an inside pocket pretty much exactly the same size as the Note is. When it is in there ... yes you can feel it but it really isn't THAT much heavier than my HTC Desire that I used to run with.
I wouldn't like to have it on an armband or anything like that though, so if I didn't have my jacket then I wouldn't be too sure of what to use.
I thought about getting a second hand wildfire or something to use just for my running, as I use Adidas Micoach and like the GPS coaching etc on it.
I wanted to be able to listen to music whilst tracking my run with run keeper!

Not toI sure about running, but I cycle about 5 kms every day with the note in my pocket. Barely feel it... But when I'm wearing shorts, I put it in a bag, because it juts out of the pocket and might fall off anytime...

Nail on the head, my friend. I would really miss this if I had go back to just a regular mp3 player.
I would say that it is possible. Before I ran with the Dell Streak in a book type case which protected the screen, back, sides and I used to just hold it in my hand.
Conclusion:
Yes you can, but invest in a good case or one of those arm bands like Andrew U.K. has and you will be fine.
Have fun!
As the title says, for what reasons are you getting the nexus 4? Or even getting rid of the nexus 4?
Could it be because of the lack of memory? (Is 16 not enough, and is it a pain always connecting it to your laptop/desktop to change anything on it?
There's no real thread for all the good and bad points of this device.
I personally have yet to actually get this phone, and was put off by it's lack of usb capabilities particularly with a ps3 controller. But earlier I discovered it's possible to connect a ps3 pad to this phone purely by bluetooth, so I now again want this phone as soon as google sort out the stock and shipping problems.
What's your view on it?
Reason to get it, Cheap, Pure google. Latest updates for years.
Reasons to get rid of it such as only 16GB storage, fragile, no 4G are just stupid as everyone is well aware of this BEFORE they purchase the phone.
my phone just fell from the recliner onto a rug which is sitting on a hardwood floor. its pretty much an 18" drop. that popped my glass loose. i can now barely squeeze the bottom and i get a clickin noise. 2 days after my 15 day return.
the nexus is an absolute hunk of junk and not worth the savings. way too many things to list on how cheap this phone really is.

Unlucky about that.
You're one of many that's complained about how crap the glass screen is. I've tried looking for drop tests on youtube while in the case but there doesn't seem to be anything. Most of the cases look dead flimsy as well.
As you say about the casing of the phone itself is perhaps a downside to it, but not one enough to deffer me from it, a good case should right that flaw (I hope).

Updates isn't really that much of an issue with cyanogenmod only being behind the official release by no time really.
Fraigility is a concern but as I said above a good case should right this flaw. I don't see 4G as a massive thing at this moment in time. It's fairly new in the UK, and massively overpriced comapred to standard 3G/+

My mate just got the note 2 and reckons it's better which I don't mainly due to it's huge size. Alright for a woman carrying it in a purse but not a man wearing jeans lol.
But I digress, How come you got rid of the first batch nexus 4? Yellow screen problems (Over I hope)? I've yet to see the Lumia in person, How is it?

Thats odd, can you not force it back in by sqeazing all the sides down? Least you don't have a huge dirty crack down it.
I've never really thought about insurance, but then again this will be the most expensive phone I'll buy to date when I get this.
Are they good prices I don't know?
Will it not be covered by your house insurance for when **** really hits the fan?
i came from Htc one X and i was using kidigi car mount, and was nice because i just need to "dock" in the mount no need to "plug" the wire like in universal mount. i read here about wireless car charger but not sure, its kind expensive and im kind temted for htc one (and this phone does not have wireless charging capabilities) so im not sure if i should buy. i was thinking something like this

i heard about clingo but not sure how many "uses" you need before the need for wash. so anyone knows a good car mount? should i buy for n4 or universal? if you had a link would be nice (ebay ) because amazon its to expensive to my country =X

I always go universal, personally. Because I can probably use the same mount down the road or my wife's phone can fit in it as well. The one you listed is good but also I like the iottie universal mounts as well.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/iOttie-Easy...716445?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item27cf4df1dd
These have the "gel" cups rather than the plain suction cups that easily warp in the hot sun. The gel pads are really sticky like the clingo, but the suction cup can be wiped clean with a damp lint free cloth to reconstitute the adhesive gel it uses. I use two different car mounts.
One is the Kropsson Aero which fits both my N7 (naked) and N4. I since cut the cushion pads down so that I can use it with my N7 with the Seidio Active case on lol.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/AER-jumiss-...040?pt=GPS_Holders_Mounts&hash=item4605c94078
And my second go to mount is mainly for my N7, the Xenomix NX2000 because even though I can use the above kropsson, the N7 does slightly obstruct my view. This Xenomix hangs off the dash a bit and keeps the N7 out of sight and I can clearly see out. Another 'good' thing is that I can use this with my N4 as well. I say "good" because you can't charge the phone while using this, the ports are covered lol.

The Aero is not meant to be placed on the windshield. In that respect look for the iottie's with the cushioned grips that can do both windshield and dash.

This is the "one touch" mounts. Where you just press the phone back slightly will release the grips. This is similar to the Aero I have. I just don't like putting suction cups on my windshield.

Best car mount?
If you want the best, be prepared to pay for the best.
http://www.proclipusa.com/
Look up the different DEVICE holder for the Nexus 4.
Look to find a mount suited for your VEHICLE.
I got the swivel mount for my accord and it came up to about $80. It's a bit on the pricier side, but these are truly the BEST mounts you will ever use, hands down.
Regards,
100% agree that Proclip (US name for Brodit) are the best mounts you can get. They're pricey but worth it.
I'm actually looking to sell my Nexus 4 mount with integrated charger, so shoot me a PM if you're interested in a bit of a cheaper price (you'll still need the vehicle plate). I'm only getting rid of mine since I've started using a case for my phone instead of going naked.

They are nice, my issue is that if I need a mount for my car and I can simply move from car to car without worry if the proclip will fit. From my understanding proclips fit a specific car model. So not really universal when you can use it in one model of a vehicle. So I'll need to buy two of these mounts to make it work and while worthwhile in the long run, 1. Is too expensive, 2. and what if I need to buy a new/different car for whatever reason?
And can you use different cases with these mounts? I see the one that can fit "some cases" but there's a limit there. A 40 plus 30 clip for each car, makes it about $140usd to be used each car.
Those factors alone, keep "ME" from buying it.

They have a system to swap the mount from car-to-car but you'll still need the car specific mount in each car, so if you're constantly swapping they don't really make sense.

I use a ballistic case and the garmin gps holders grip it real well. There are two small cut outs in the sides of the case that aid in the grip.
They're only a few bucks on ebay or like $20 at best buy.
I'm using the Mountek mount that goes inside the CD drive. I don't use CD's anymore so it doesn't get in my way. I think it's a little pricey but totally worth it. Depending on your console it may get in the way of some of your buttons which it doesn't on my car. Also, some cars (such as my grandma's) have the CD slot lower in the console and the phone would be too low for me.

It doesn't slide but there is a considerable amount of tilt. You wouldn't be able to hide it from someone in the back seat but the person in the passenger seat would have to move in order to look at the screen. Again, this probably depends on how your console is set up, mine is dead center.

The phone is at a perfect height for me. For maps I don't look at the screen very often because the turn by turn directions are enough most of the time. Calls are not perfect with the speaker phone or with voice commands (I have to scream to the phone) that's why I need to buy a bluetooth speaker phone.

I have a similar setup in my Truck. I have a JVC head unit that has an external AUX port where my HTC Car Stereo stick goes to stream stuff from my N4 or N7. Use either Aero or Xenomix mount for my device, or none at all and to answer any calls, I use a Parrot Minikit Neo. This little guy goes to deep sleep and wakes up when the door opens or closes and I customized it with a greeting and signing off greeting which greets my 4 yr old when we get in the truck. She loves it lol.

Yes I admit its pretty lazy but it sucks to hold a tablet in place for such a long time.
Ideally laying on ones back would be best. Cases and accessories are fine too.

Of course, I also have had you have similar ideas, but I want to let it stand on the table, so I went and bought a stent, thought you could have thought of lying in bed watching the movie without the book to take the machine, was the best. I suggest that the wall in your room you install a bracket, or a rope hanging from the ceiling, and then put the machine back with a strong adhesive tied on it. In short the lazy lazy approach.I esky rc helicoptershand it to you.
Simple. Just make one..

I use this most every night "Nexus 10 DIY Pogo Dock©". I may have written about it as humour but I really do use it. Its greatest advantage is a soft underside unlike the metal based alternatives and of course being dirt cheap.

Yes I admit its pretty lazy but it sucks to hold a tablet in place for such a long time.
Ideally laying on ones back would be best. Cases and accessories are fine too.
Thanks!

Not the most inventive way to ask 'how do I keep my hands free while watching porn' ..... But 6/10 for effort.

I'm fat so the nexus rests over my belly during bed-movie time. I just hold it the minimum to make it not fall.
Leaning it against a pillow works pretty well if you have an extra.
Wow thanks for all the suggestions. Man I was really hesitant on posting this question at first cuz of the lazy factor
The pillow idea sounds good I will have to give that a try first.
The retractable arm looks epic... I will have to take that under some serious consideration... It looks entirely possible for me to mount that on the headboard. Heck it even looks like a conversation starter... "Hey baby wanna check out my bed/tablet mount?" :victory:
The DIY project looks interesting... I may just have to try that just for fun.
The gogopillow looks interesting... I am wondering if anyone has tried it yet... The only possible downside I can see is the tablet getting hot.
Any link for the belkin case or even the name of it?
Thanks again, and I hope this might have helped others who are just as lazy but was too lazy to ask.
90% of Nexus 10 cases function as a stand. If you don't like to cover your tablet a pillow works. They also make stand alone tablet stands, but I don't know how comfortable they would be on your lap. I bought the cheapest case I could find

Using it as a stand works perfectly.
Here are a number of different hands free Tablet alternatives:

The first post is from a Nexus 10 owner who actually bought a hands free holder while the second post includes links to multiple hands free tablet holders.
So I have a collection of devices, the Nexus 10 being one of them. Due to the nature of my job, I have around 3 cell phones and 2 tablets to carry around. I was wanting to buy a small backpack that can hold all of these for me. I don't want anything too big, just something I can throw over my shoulder. Can anyone suggest a small backpack with lots of slots & dividers for carefully carrying multiple tablets and phones?
Thanks
Would that work for you? Or maybe too small? I didn¡t know if you wanted it to not be so bulky. http://www.amazon.com/SOLO-Collecti...370039095&sr=8-1&keywords=tablet+10"+backpack

This is actually pretty much what I'm looking for! I don't see any pictures of the inside of the main compartment, so I'm not sure if I could store 2+ tablets in it with some sort of cushion between them. You're on the right track, though. Thanks!
Not sure if it these are too large, but these are the two I carry. I generally have 2 MBP's, at least one tablet, and phone.

Its probably not ideal for more than 2 devices and randoms, but my fiance got me a parachutist bag (because I always wear an army-style field jacket ) with 3 main pockets, a small one, and "pen" holders. I later found out they were for holding shells, but who cares? Its great for my devices. Don't have a link here as it came from an army surplus store.
