[Q] Bluetooth problems with Quarx' 4.3 - Defy Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was wondering if I was the only one that has this problem with Quarx' latest ROM (4.3) for the Defy+:
When bluetooth is turned on, there's no sound at all when calling, everything is muted. The second when I turn off bluetooth, both callers can hear eachother again. I can reproduce this anytime, and the bluetooth switch can be done while calling. Bluetooth doesn't even have to be connected to a device, it will immediately mute all calling sounds when turned on.
I know there are still some issues with the bluetooth driver, but everybody only mentions the bad quality when playing music through bluetooth.
I'm using a clean install. Tried the 20130801 and the 20130915 release, they both have the same problem.

This is a known problem in 4.2 and 4.3.
If you need to use the Bluetooth use the 4.1 version.

Solved Problem
Hello, I had tehe same problem, but with the latest build of Quarx (17/09) the problem was solved!
Now I have a new problem... My battery is having drops.... For exemple, when it is charging, the battery come from 50 to 60% and when it is discharging, I have a inverse problem... The battery drops from 60 to 50%...
I have applied many fixes, but nothing is funcionating...
Please, I need help!
I want to recover 10% of my battery life...
Sorry by my terrible english
(I know, it isn't the area, but I can't to post at developers area... )

That 10% will come later on when the phone is discharging. A lot of people have this drop. It is due to the battery controller in our defys.

It is "disabled" now??

No, when discharging it'll take longer to discharge 10%.

Ok, tankyou!
I have noted this "longer time" while the battery is discharging...
However, Can I do something to "calibrate" this 10% to have an precion during the battery discharge?

Nexus S kills the batteries

Hello
My friend have a Nexus S (9020A) the problem is when the battery dies it's impossible to charge the phone, it won't turn on! I have tried with a lot of batteries now and it kills all of them! it works like normal when you don't let the battery die completely but it should not do this anyway, what is wrong?
I think I know what your talking about.
The phone consumes more power than it receives when its using data. Do if your at 5% and charging, but also using the internet. You will last for mere minutes.
Best thing to do is to simply let it charge and not touch it when its doing so. You can still hotspot, text talk. But streaming music, data apps (like tapatalk or skype) and web browser WILL KILL YOUR BATTERY WHILE YOU CHARGE.
But if your saying it won't charge. Sorry. No idea

What? That's just nonsense.
If you turn the phone off and then try to charge it with the battery in, you're not able to charge it?

no, the phone kills the batteries, I would have test the batteries on other phone if I had, but atm I just have the Nexus S, it won't let me charge the batteries when they are dead.. if there is 1% left I can charge but when it dies it's dead forever... there must be something wrong with the phone, right?
Try wiping battery stats?

don't work.. when battery have some % left the phone works like normal... but if I let it die, then it's dead.. I can't even turn on the phone, it's like there is no battery inserted.
The phone should shut down automatically when the voltage reaches a certain threshold. Is the phone not doing this? These batteries are not meant to drop below a certain voltage and doing so could damage them.

This is so insanely inaccurate. Using the hotspot is one of the most battery intensive operations the phone can carry out. Streaming music, Skype, and browsing don't even hold a candle to it. The only thing that comes close would be navigation (and that can be even worse sometimes), followed by talking on the phone by a pretty decent, but not massive margin. It also depends on the charger. Where do you get your information?

if the phone is doing the same with all type of ROMS, then it may be hardware related issue.
I have been running various Roms since the start but never faced this issue. A lot of times battery has drained fully. With some of the new roms that are there my phone lasts more than a day with Data on Roaming full time.
I know most phone batteries will not be chargeable if you deplete them completely. Usually this happens by throwin it in the drawer and not using it for a long time but ive never heard of it happening just by using the phone. Id say its definitely a hardware issue

the problem can be the battery, even if it's a new one.
I tried two other batteries, and the problem had continued.
I think the other ones was fake/old batteries, but sold as original and new.
Thanks for the help, the problem is solved, I just had to do full sbf install for 3 times. Now my mobile is on for about 26 hours using the new battery. (On 4.2.2)
Maybe I had problems both with the old battery and the battery files on the ROMs.

I have been experiencing similar battery problems running Whiterabbit 2.1.1 on my Green lens Defy Mb525. Which 4.2.2 ROM are you using Jinx? If I flash a new ROM and recalibrate the battery is that likely to fix it? I'm guessing sbf install is the same as a full factory reset. (forgive me, I'm a beginner when it comes to all this!) How come you needed to reinstall 3 times?
I don't know, what solved my problem, but the fact is that I reinstalled the sbf three times than updated to Quarx's latest 4.2.2 nightly than I got it right.
My phone just run out of power after 3 days 4 hours. Good luck!

Thanks for taking the time to reply Jinx.
3 days is excellent! I flashed sbf twice, had some trouble running Jellybean ROMs without serious lag, so am currently reverting back to 7.2, running 'Cyanmobile experience'. It runs smoothly, but still encountering the battery drops, so its somewhat of a mystery!
I'll keep experimenting.
I have a spare battery, and an external wall charger. Currently swapping between the two to last through the day with enough juice!

Somehow, even for me, after 3 sbf flashes, CM10 is really smooth and there are no problems so far. Oddly, after the second sbf flash, CM10 was quite laggy.
I bought my brand New defy in October 2012. I've had huge battery drops ever since I jumped onto the CM10 bandwagon from this February. How's that possible?

Dude.. My phone was on 60 percent at 6pm once when I slept... Next morning at seven it was off... Wifi off data off.. All **** off... I dint even get a call or msg... Definitely not 1 percent I guess...
If I leave data and WiFi off, about 2% to 10% but that isn't usual. When I am home, I leave WiFi on and that gets my currents and YouTube video preloaded. 15% to 20% Max. I rarely leave it to charge overnight.

REBOOTED - nothing, drain battery like hell, lose about 30-40% in 5 hours...
I woke up with 15-20% battery drained... wtf guys ?
I kill all apps, turn of data, wifi and etc, still nothing...
BATTERY STATUS - messaging use 84% of battery... wtf ?
To all of you having problems with battery drain, you should know that last Google Maps update messed up the deep sleep state of the system.
I´m running Carbon ROM, but also tested with other 2 ROM´s and the results were the same, around 20%-25% battery drain over night.
I read that disabling "Reporting Location" and "Location History" under Location settings in the Google Settings app(the one with the green icon) helps a little, but still is an issue.
With these settings disabled, I get around 5% battery drain over night. Although the wakelock has decreased, is still there waking up the device. Already reported to Google to see if they can do anything to fix it. The wakelock appears as "Android System" or "Google Services".
Before update I had around 3% battery drain over night(around 8 hours) with WiFi.
Hope this helps.
:fingers-crossed:
As a battery life druggie, I get 1% max. Regardless rom. Usually wifi off and 2g data on. (wifi on is bad for HUMAN DEEP SLEEP).
A not sure useful or not hint, set pm.sleep_mode=1 in your build.prop
Disable everything you can think of. Wifi, gps etc.
Uninstall bloatwares, replace with downloadable ones, use greenify to freeze them.

Simple solution - turn Wi-Fi off and see if it fixes the battery issue. Possible it is but to draw 50% that quick you'd have to be far away from the Wireless AP. In most cases that's very unlikely.

And look what i said, WKD does not seem to be able to see all the wakelocks, install BBS and see if you get any extra wakelocks.
If that doesn't help, i would suggest you to do a complete reflash to stock and see if it still happens on stock.
turn off your wifi when you are not using it. there is a constant drain with a wifi connection.
Drain is STILL there with wifi and everything off (airplane mode)
I installed BetterBatteryStats and everything seems normal. In a 1 hour period the largest offender was msm_hsic_host and sns_async_evwakelock and suspend_backoff with a total of 4 min.
