Hey guys, I m new in xda. Well I'm in a bit of trouble. think u guys can help me.
I wanted to replace my superuser app with superSU v1.45. I installed superSU and then uninstalled the superuser app from the onscreen option of superSU. And after that everytime I try to open superSU ,it says it needs to update the binary, then I need to choose a option between normal and cwm method. When I choose normal it keeps saying "Installation aborted." My superuser app is uninstalled and I lost my root.
So If there is any process of recovering my root again without flashing the stock rom again by odin, please suggest me.
***I m in stock rom now.
***Baseband version: S5360DDLC2
***Karnel: White karnel 1.3.3 build#62
There are two ways - if your phone is already rooted but you just have a problem with the app then the best superuser app for our phone is
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.noshufou.android.su
once installed swipe to the right and then press update binary
if it says the binary is not detected you have to root your phone again
the best way to do this is as follows (note this will prob only work on stock based roms and not cm7 due to build prop)
download attachment
go into cwm
mount system
flash zip
select superuser by chainsdd
restart
once restarted use link2sd (playstore) to uninstall the superuser app
download the latest version of the app from the link at start of this post and update the binary as iv already said
thank you markassmith . I will try & tell you if it works.... (t:thumbup:humbup)

Hi everybody
I am owner of S4 LTE (GT-I9505) with fw version XXUEMJ7.
I followed the instructions for rooting the phone using the correct files fo my phone's version.
I installed the TWRP recovery but I have the following problems:
1. SuperSu does not appear in my apps drawer.
2. Knox is still active.
3. Titanium Backup stuck trying get root permission and the same time I receive knox message on ststus bar.
4. Root Checker stuck and I receive knox message on the status bar.
5. Knox disabler is ineffective.
6. Terminal program is ineffective too and when I try su command I receive knox message again.
Is it safe to full wipe my phone and install an AOSP rom or there is any posibility to brick my phone?
TWRP recovery seems to work properly.

You can't because of KNOX, install a Pre-Rooted Rom instead.

I did it.
First I installed the pre-rooted XXUEMJ7 rom and TWRP recovery with ODIN.
Then I downloaded Liquidsmooth v2.37 and flashed via TWRP.
Everything is fine now and Liquidsmooth rom works very well.
Hello, just flashed omni and its really great, I found out that my device is not Rooted, (it was but after the format probably canceled(?))
Anyway, is it normal? And there is anyway to root without a PC and will it mess the system?
Thanks!

Flash the update supersu zip in linked in its thread.
I think its a bug in omnirom. Happened to me as well when i updated omnirom. You will just have to root it again.

Same here. That's why I keep the supersu zip file on my tablet
You can always enable Backup (or Survival mode) in Super SU, so you never lose root, even after a ful system wipe. That way, you'll always see the message below once you reboot from recovery after wipe:
Code:
Root access may be lost. Fix root? (Y/N)
You can also simply put flashable SuperSU package (the one you flash via recovery) into "Flash After Update" folder.
Then it will auto flash each time you update rom. You can also put there other zips like custom kernel.
It is a very useful OmniRom function
When you open SuperSu for the first time (once you have installed it), it asks you to install a script to survive over the flashes. There's nothing else needed. You'll be rooted always, even if you flash any update. At least that works for me..:silly:
Greetings!
So I just got done rooting my Note 3 with towelroot and everything went fine. I checked to make sure it worked with "Root Checker" and it said I successfully had root access. So next step I took was to download a SuperUser app from the PlayStore, and no matter WHAT SuperUser app I use, NONE of them can update the SU Binary????? so I went and downloaded "Busybox Installer" and downloaded the latest Busybox version to my Note. Then went back to retry to update the Binary but still no progess!! I'm stuck and I really don't know what else to do! I'm not trying to install any ROM or Safestrap. Just want my phone rooted to mess around with some permissions and hacked apks. So can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong???? I've rebooted my Note COUNTLESS number of times and still SuperSU still says it fails to update the Binary! It successfully disable KNOX tho. So what can I do so that I can use my root to my full potential and update the SU Binary???

I'm pretty sure I've read somewhere that its just a problem with towelroot.. And that same thing happened to me on my note 3. I'm pretty sure what I did was download safestrap (you can I install it after) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2517610 and flash this (chainfires supersu +binary) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2517610
If that doesn't work just either pm me or comment that it didn't and I'll see if I can find another way! And you can always uninstall safestrap once you flashed the package (don't forget to clear cache and dalvic)

Once rooted with towelroot, I uninstalled the towelroot app. After the next reboot, SuperSU was not complaining anymore for me.

Download the flashable zip of supersu. Then instead of flashing, go to the Commons folder inside it and extract the apk. Install it and then run it from app drawer.

This just prompts SU binary update and fails.
I managed to download safestrap and have the su zip in my downloads, but dont knwo where to go from here.
I also don't use anything but stock ROM, won't I trip KNOX by flashing my stock?
First time rooting so I probably shouldn't play around with things alone. Thanks

Still not downloading the binary. Now I can't even uninstall it through drawer, did the flash make it a system app?
I think I should've uninstalled it before the flash.
