On my last 2 phones, the Note 2 and SGS3, there was a flashlight toggle in the pulldown toggles. On this one it seems the only way to get it is with 3minit. Obviously 3minit is only unofficially supported one one ROM now. Is there another way to get it in the pulldown toggles that I'm oblivious to? I know there are other way's to turn on the flashlight, but I'm quite used to doing it a certain way. Was there something that changed on the S4 that makes it more difficult to do? Or did EVERYONE just get used to doing it a different way and not tell me?
There is a widget that allows you to toggle the flashlight on/off. I removed 3minit so not sure how that works or if the widget belonged to that app or not.

Hey all, I unlocked/rooted my phone and I'm wondering if there's anyway to customize which settings are in the notification bar? I'm hesitant to install a new rom because the stock rom has been solid, and I had less than stellar results on past android devices when using custom roms (random fc's, slowdowns, etc, even with CM).
Anyway, I basically want a quick flashlight toggle, and maybe put a few more quick settings options in there. Would it require a new rom?

Thanks, another question... what about customizing the unlock screen? Like dragging the slider up opens voice search and left opens camera?:good:
Install battery widget reborn, it has nice notification area, with flashlight, wifi settings, bluetooth, data sync, pretty much everything you have in quick settings

I'm pretty sure that it would require a ROM to put it on the lock ring but there's a camera lockscreen widget and you can touch and hold the nav bar on the lock screen to get search

OP, this is a Nexus. You won't find more functional ROMs. Just pick one and flash it.
Hi! I'm running the latest paranoid Android and i was wondering if hiding the navbar on the lockscreen only was possible. I looked all over the internet and couldnt find any information. Could anyone help me please?
I apologize in advance, since I'm not that familiar with PA...
On Carbon I have a thing called "Transparency Settings" wich regulate transparency for navbar and statusbar, with separate settings for lockscreen. You might just have something like it.
edit: Okay if you mean the black bar is showing, even with the buttons, it's a strange behavior with Android hopefully Google will fix it. The only way I know of is to set the phone in expanded mode, sorry.
Thank you for responding! It's OK i can live without this feature...

I have seen on several videos some kind of double function on the pulldown statusbar. When pulled down from the left side on the statusbar it displays the notifications and when pulled down from the right side it goes directly to the "tiles" with WiFi, Signal and user...
What mod is this? I would love to have that config...
// Manneman
It's integrated in some custom roms (i.e SlimBean).
Otherwise you can use xposed framework and gravity toolbox, it's also included in
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2316070
The option you're looking for is that one :
--- Quick pulldown - switches to QuickSettings when status bar is pulled down near edges
EDIT: beware, gravity toolbox is not compatible with MIUI
I'm running stock at the moment... so no worries. Thanx alot, mate!
You're welcome
You pull down with two fingers on stock don't you? No mod required.

Hell yeah ^^
Totally forgot about that feature on stock rom lol
Anyone know whether Beans' ROM (or stock, for that matter) is capable of disabling/hiding the notification toggles entirely? I'd inquire within his thread, but not permitted to because it's for devs only...
No, I don't see anything like that.

Not sure I totally understand the question, but you can hide the status/notification bar easy enough if you use Nova Launcher??

If you use Exposed, there is a module called NotifyClean that will hide what ever you want.

Thank you, but to clarify, what I was talking about was within the notification pull-down, at the top there is normally a row of toggles with items such as wifi on/off, bluetooth on/off, etc. While I realize that you can customize the order of the items that appear within this bar, as well as which items display, I am interested in knowing whether the entire bar can be removed/hidden.
thanks

Much gratitude; I wasn't aware that existed, and that sounds like it would do the trick.

That only hides the notifications, not the toggles (I use it myself & it works perfect for what it's intended to do but hiding the toggles ain't it)

Thanks for dashing the false hope! Back to original question: anyone? Might some other xposed module do this?
*bump* in hopes of someone knowing whether achieving this is possible (removing/hiding the toggles bar in the notification pulldown)
Message beans and ask him if it's possible. Beans is a very nice person and one hell of a dev. Just be polite and not demanding and he will probably at least respond

Coming from an S5, Note 4 or other very recent TW device.
What have you noticed is different in this S6 TW/ROM?
Removed:
- App drawer. No option to sort alphabetically. (Only on T-mobile? has the option)
- Capacitive Touch Keys led/backlight setting removed. (Available on At&T only)
- Clock has removed Smart Alarm. Now there is a new option to increase volume over a non adjustable time.
- No Widget for Flashlight. No option to long press the volume up to turn on.
- Messages, Import/Export via xml is gone completely.
- No options for LED indicator. Just on/off.
- LED notifications for third party apps is spotty. Still testing..
- Default actions. When plugging in headset you no longer get a customizable list of apps shown in the notification area.
Added:
- Pop-ups for Notifications. New. Plus, no setting to disable. They slide in from the top on whatever you are doing.
- Charging/Fast Charging shows how much time left until fully charged. (nice)
Maybe this will help ROM developers to see what people are unhappy about missing what they had on their old device.
As well as others that may be interested in the differences.
"pop up" notifications are Heads Up and are part of AOSP
Why do you need a widget for flashlight? There is a quick toggle for it.
EDIT: It occurred to me that the flashlight quick toggle may also be new in AOSP for 5.x -- so that's probably why it's in a different place

Don't really care if it's in AOSP. This is a TW Samsung ROM. They can improve and change. People expect them to in fact.
Not going to get into the whole AOSP vs customized argument. (Google also removed Silent Mode. They haven't been making the brightest of decisions lately..)
It's annoying as hell.
Time yourself getting to a widget and getting to a quick setting down at the end of the row.
Widget is faster. No reason to remove the option.

My point on heads up is that you're complaining about it in the context of TW... But it's not a TW feature, it's an AOSP one.

Did I need to be that specific with my title? I thought it would be pretty clear. Should I have said "TW/Rom/New to all recent Samsung device users/firmware/anything else"?
You're picking nits..
The two that are killing me:
1) No long press recent apps for menu
2) No direct dial and direct text widgets (ones imported from my S5 through Nova still work, which makes it even more annoying).

How is a quick setting toggle not quicker than a widget. That's just dumb to say...

Maybe if you have lots of home screens.
Or had the toggle in the first 5 options. But I'm sure people have other things there already.
I can get to a widget faster and easier.
It was an option and was removed. Why? No good reason.
The more I'm using the S6 the more apparent it is that Samsung's slimmed down TW is lacking many options that used to be there.
If you want a widget for flashlight just add torch to the my places widget. You can add direct call to that too

Interesting. I had to search for what that is.
I have no my places widget available using Nova.
Only when using stock launcher. Which is especially awful this time around without even alphabetical sort.
The widget for flashlight was available with Nova on the S5.

Thanks, never knew about that widget, but it is one of those TW only widgets...the old direct call way, you can direct email, direct message etc...I wonder if it's a lollipop or Samsung omission?
