Hi fellows,
For sure, more than 95% of ROM development at XDA is devoted to P1000 version (Euro/USA/... Galaxy Tab version). Unfortunately (or not...), Samsung released at Latin America two different versions of GT: P1000L and P1000N. My researches shown that theses version has different hardware from P1000 one, and the most important, IMO, is the touchscreen. Conclusion: when we try to use custom ROMs, we aren't able to even use it.
So, I have started this thread to centralize information regarding P1000L/P1000N. Please, if you have these devices and have already tried to use a custom ROM or Kernel, please post the information here. With this, we can verify what modifications we need to make to adapt XDA custom ROMs/Kernels to our GTs.

I can provide the PDA, Modem and CSC Multi files to be flashed in Odin for P1000N from Claro provider if they're needed at all, only downside is that they're JJ1 not the JJ5 which they're currently shipping Tabs with. Honestly I don't see any difference between the versions, but there should be some.
Well, apparently we got a new kernel for GT-P1000L deceives that camera and TV tuner is fully working and has interesting capabilities, like 1.4GHz overclocking! Thanks to @humberos. More info on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=974408
Additionally, my Vivo GT has received an update through Kies and now my ROM version is P1000LVJJMA, which I don't know yet if this kernel is compatible. I have contact @humberos and we will try to find out.

Im users of galaxy tab P1000N and i want to update mi galaxy tab to GingerBread because my baterry is finished in 5 hours +o- and a friend tell me in gingerbread the baterry lasts longer!

Currently http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1124224 is a Gingerbread Kernel that can run a version of CM7.
I can not attest to validity of the ROM, as I don't have a latin version, but yeah... There it is.

Are you on stock rom ? I upgraded my p1000n to gingerbread overcome and feel that the battery last less than with froyo.

This is my first expeeience with android, i come from wm.
I've got a lot to learn.
After many unsuccessful attempts with z4root, i did root my tab with oneclickroot.
I have read these latin tabs are different than others. How?
Lesser quality?

Not at all... just a little different in hardware. I had that firmware on my P1000N. Maybe if you check on the small print on the back of your tab, you should see P1000N... let us know.
Basically we have a few different Tab hardwares. The P1000, Euro US and etc, both GSM and CDMA versions. Latin versions P1000L / N (and maybe C as commented above). P1000L and N are the same, except P1000N does NOT have TV, P1000L has TV, 1seg like in Brazil. There is also another different hardware, the Tab with wifi only (no SIM chip).
Since P1000 is the most commonly used one, there is a lot more development going on for it... but luckyly we have HumberOS for the salvation of our latin version tabs. Just Google "xda humberos" to find his posts.

You can flash Gingerbread from Samsung. If you want to flash anything customized, like Overcome rom, you need to do it through humberos kernel, made for our latin tabs.

Yes, you loose root. Then you can just flash humberos' cf-root or voodoo lagfix kernel to get root back. Overcome is very good and stable. Just remember to replace the zImage file inside Overcome's zip file with HumberOS' kernel voodoo lagfix.

That's it. Read the last page of the thread. rlkalves just flashed Gingerbread.
Always use original USB cable from Samsung for flashing. Don't use USB HUBs. Make sure you have a good tight USB port, make sure your Windows and USB Drivers are all 100% and close all software to run ODIN or Heimdall ALONE.
i got a p1000n from comcel (colombian provider) and i flashed overcome, and is pretty awesome, maybe if you want i can make you a guide

I did install Overcome Hermes but overlooked the fact that there is still not usb connection to pc. Al sd cards and browse.though from kies i am able to get into internal and external
What is the procedure to go to another gb rom like Jupiter?
Is it a matter of repackaging the Jupiter's zip with latest zImage from first post and install via sd card with Recovery Cwm mode?

Download CM7 Beta
Uncompress .zip file and replace zImage.
Use Heimdall to flash it.
For your convenience i've made a pre-rooted version of the 1.1.7 update available (this is the HK release, as available from this page).
This is completely stock with the exception that SuperSU is installed for root - more mods will follow.
Installation is via the usual method - copy to the internal SD card as update.zip, power off then power on with vol+ held and select 'Upgrade'.
Although I have installed on my device, you install at your own risk!

You guys might just want to use my 1.1.7 ROM instead of this, as it includes my Policy Bugfix (fixes Firefox Menu Button crash in addition to a bunch of other things).

Do you know any way to rollback to one of you Roms?
I've tried MrColdBird file.. but it got stuck on the Meizu logo screen for about half an hour..
Luckily I was able to go back to the 2.1..

I was on that firmware as well and rolled back to my 1.1.7 Build just fine.
Make sure you wipe data when you install it though, as the 2.X builds convert the databases to a newer sqlite revision. :silly:
Leaving them as they are without wiping will result in force closes as the old 1.1.7 sqlite binary can't read them.

If coming from an older version of MIUI then you do not need to full wipe. He releases a new version every week/Friday...here is the main page. Search for the latest date and go into that folder. In this case it's 5.1.9(date being 1/9/2015)...Our phone is named "dior". Every week you can go in and get the latest build. Just flash that in recovery without wiping your data and everything will stay intact. You will need to flash the latest SuperSU zip along with the ROM to maintain root or use the built in root app. The fact that you are rooted now does not matter.

If you're coming from anything besides MIUI then you have to do a full wipe....Also, no need to flash a baseband or kernel. I would start fresh with the latest build from 1/10

Yes you can use Philz to wipe. Don't flash gapps. They're already included in these MIUI builds and it could cause issues.

i'm planning to buy ZUK EDGE from Zuk Official Shop (http://www.zukmobile.cc/buy-zuk-mobile.html)
I'm just concerned about 2 things before my buying :
- Android 7.0 (for the multiwindow mode mainly)
- Multilanguage ROM (French language mostly)
I asked (and a lot of people too did) on the questions page but the people who are answering are once saying "multilanguage is available" and sometimes "just english & chinese".
They updated the sheet recently and it seems clear that Android 7.0 is preinstalled. But which build? They are unclear about it.
I did some researchs on the internet and i found that the most recent and stable build of Android 7.0 for ZUK EDGE is : ZUI 2.5.406
It is apparently bringing every features of Android 7.0, the ability to show "on-screen buttons" (back, menu, app view), and even multilanguage...
Do you have a link to download this 2.5.406 ROM for ZUK EDGE ? Does someone already have it / tried it ?

For what I have seen so far, you'll have to choose between ZUI 2.5 or multi languages. The custom rom are built on 2.3.
Only official rom is 2.5 (my phone came with 2.3 but there was an update ready for 2.5).
I try the 2 Italian rom mention in other post, there is French.
The CM have French too. I'm back on official 2.5,camera is a bit better.

With the OTA,of the update app of zui.
But if you're already rooted, that won't work, you'll need to use the qualcomm tool QTFIL I think, i found the tuto on zuk fan europe I'll try post the link later.

when i open "system Update", it just crashes. my phone goes to first screen.
my phone is Not rootet and bootloader is lock.

From memory it is the official zuk rom, so locked bootloader might work.
fyi, to open the port for qfil i struggle a bit, and once open you need to start the download very very quicly, less than a second....good luck with that.

yes. the original Rom have a lot of chinese apps but u can uninstall them easily

What i am confused about is the phone is advertised as being released with Android 7.0 and i purchased mine directly from ZUK and they say it's Android 6.0, how is that possible? Did anyone here buy official ROM and if so was there an update to 7.0?

I purchased mine directly from zukmobile.cc and it came with Android 6.0 and no updater app or update option in settings. I flashed the latest ZUI from my previous post using this process and it worked perfectly:

Official? I think so anyway, see my post on the previous page. It has English on it you just have to select it manually in settings.

No, I just downloaded QPST and watched the video on mute. You can see everything he's doing.
Ok so i got the phone and it has Android 7.0 out the box! All is good with that. But i have an issue with "ok google" it is greyed out. Anyone?

For Mediatek Devices it is pretty easy because if you manage to build a ROM for a device that has its software made by the same company who did the same software for another device (i hope this sentence is clear), then you can build a ROM for both devices with just some minor changes.

Yep.. Got that line clearly... But what to do when u don't have source codes for your perticuler device or similar device with same company and software ? U can't build.... Am i right?

I'll just reply here for the last time, it is OT, but still useful for development
When there is no kernel source code, i use the prebuilt kernel image (included with the Stock ROM), while everything else gets compiled (excluding proprietary files required to handle the hardware).

... the rom - download (mega) is it working with the 4gb version too? great job so far...
i have tried that rom, it does not work for 4gb version, doogee logo stuck on the screen

i bought phone from banggood came with offical outdated software, so i will never get update.the only rom with update is 20170621. the rom that we have here 6gb version,hope someone will provide rom 20170621 for 4gb version.

I'm also wondering about ROMs for the 4gb version of the phone? Have they updated that to the same level as the 6gb ROM? I thought the specs were identical apart from the extra 2gb of memory??

"Can you do" doesn't exist yet.
It is only the Stock ROM provided by DOOGEE directly, not something I made. You have to ask DOOGEE if you want other variants, then provide me the link.
Ah okay, i thought this was the pure stock Android Rom without Doogee "bloat".... Do you think there will be a lineage Version in future?

How did you flash it with SP Flash Tools?
