It seems that if you enable multiphoto wallpaper and attempt to scroll quickly back and fourth throughout your screen, it will double click or kind of lag. Don't know how to explain this. But I'm dragging back and fourth onto of apps, I never release my finger, and it will register another click and open whatever app happens to open. Anyone else with this issue? On Verizon model.

I'm not rooted, I really didn't feel like tinkering with the phone right now, but I'm kind of getting tired of Launcher2's performance and behavior since the last OTA... aside from the obvious bugs (forgetting which home screen you are on), quite often it takes FOREVER to "redraw" when I exit an app and it force closes 5-6 times a week.
Any prospects of them releasing a bug-fix patch? I really don't have time to play around with loading roms and then maintaining my own update schedule.

Like there aren't a gazillion other threads about Android 2.2 and Froyo already on this forum?

That's not a bug, it was changed on purpose in 2.1 to go the the 3rd homescreen when you press the home button. It does seem like a weird idea at first but it's actually increased my navigation speed considerably. Before I would forget which screen I was on sometimes and I would have to pause and check. Now I know which one it's going to be and I know instantly which was to swipe to get where I want to go. I think it was a good choice.

Yes it is. I suggest you check again.
From any home screen other than the 3rd one you mention, hit the apps softkey to open apps. Now press either of the home screen buttons, soft or hard and you will (as you say) get returned to home screen 3 or the middle one. This is fine and good. BUT take a look at the mini icons at the bottom of the screen.
They are supposed to show
** ** to indicate you are on screen 3.
However they will incorrectly show the screen you were on before heading off to the apps screen and not the one you are on now.

That IS the home screen bug.
Yeah, that and the occasional battery pulls I have to do to reset a frozen phone and the bluetooth random reboots are getting bothersome.

Yes that would be a bug. I haven't heard of anyone else with this problem nor can I replicate it myself.
I've heard of many people with that bug. I have it also. Only on the stock ROM. The background is also offset to where it would be if you were on the previous screen (the one the dots indicate), as opposed to being centered when on the middle screen.

I had that issue before I rooted and installed Enom's ROM, now I rely on noticing how far left/right my wallpaper is shifted to tell which screen I'm on, as I have the phone/browser buttons in the bottom corners instead of the dots.
Hello
Whenever i require to scroll through a scroll screen, i noticed a delay after i start touching the screen trying to scroll.
for example if you long press the home screen and the list of widgets comes up, this list does not start scrolling immediately when you try to do that with your finger, a delay is noticed
has anyone experienced that, and how can this be resolved
Thanks
Try a lag fix

Not my sgs..
Mine is blazing fast out of the box and never has lag.
Topicstarter can i ask which baseband version ur phone came with?
To begin, I'm new to Honeycomb and he Asus Transformer. (Not new to android however.)
Every once in a while the "tron-like" screen transition will turn yellow on one of my screens. Most often it happens to the one just to the right of the center screen. It comes and goes at random and a reboot always turns it back to blue. To better explain I attached a photo below.
So what's happening here? Does it indicate something I'm not aware of? If it's something widely known and normal I'd feel foolish. I also tried a search on this forum and google but found nothing about it.
when you add an app or widget to the screen the screen you put that app or widget on turns that colour to show that it is selected but there is a bug in the code that does not change it back sometimes. to fix it just force quit the browser or reboot
Also im noting that you are using a third party screenshot app if you go into settings and hit screen then check the screenshot button it will allow you to take screenshots by holding the multitasking key also if you have the dock the button where F8 should be (the rectangle and camera) that will also take a screenshot
Thanks for the info. It's odd though, it just does it randomly, never when I add an app or widget.
Also thanks for the tip about the screenshot being native. I thought I saw that option somewhere.

I've noticed this too. good eye! rotate portrait and back, and it stops... weird.
This has happened twice today. I am using the phone and the voice typing display will not go away. I can use the phone.. .i can go to the homescreen, open apps, look at settings, etc, but i cannot close the voice prompt, and i can't use it.
It essesentially makes the phone useless until i reboot.
I am not sure why it is doing this. Not rooted nor unlocked or anything.. just stock.
The other thing it is doing is that sometimes when i wave my hand over the screen i will see the unlock screen. it will have the time and a lock icon below it ... if i touch the lock icon, it moves to a lower (on the screen) position and when i re adjust to hit the lock again it moves back up. Not sure how to screen shot this... maybe a video from a different phone.
when this happens, it will unlock by pressing the power button. I think this has something to do with the smart lock. DAMN google for forcing you to have a lock when you use Android Pay. Never had this problem on my Note 4 with Wallet.
Anyway, any help on either of these bugs would be appreciated
ok, i can reproduce the bug.
can someone else try this to confirm?
- with the phone screen off have someone send you a text message.
- swipe up directly to messages. ( use the google one, but i am not sure if it matters.)
- reply to the message with a google voice typing
- hit the power button to turn off the screen.
- Have the person text you again.
- open message by swiping up to it.
At this point the tap to speak screen will be there and not go away until you reboot.
no one else?
here is a video showing the problem I can't believe I am the only one experiencing this

I can try it when I get my phone, but that's a few weeks away...
So on my note 4 long pressing the home button opened up the Google application. Now with the v20 though it opens up an overlay. However, about half the time or more that I long press the home button, the overlay doesn't open or it immediately closes or when I try searching for something it randomly deletes everything I've typed and closes my keyboard. Does anyone else have this issue or know how to fix it?
The overlay was a change introduced in Android 6 and later called Google now on tap. As far as the issues you speak of I can't say that I have any problems with the way the app works at all. Perhaps it could be attributed to use error. Could it be you don't fully know how now in tap is supposed to work and what makes it different than the older push to open Google now shortcut on Android before Android 6?
I suggest a quick "Google" for Google now on tap so that you understand what has changed and how it exactly is supposed to work.

@EROMITLAB No, I'm fully aware of how it works and how to use it. I was also aware of why the overlay was changed. I'm not attempting to use the now on tap portion, nine times out of ten I'm only ever trying to quickly get to Google and perform a basic search and the white square will appear around the end of the screen as if it's going to open or when I go to search it will just close. Yes, definitely user error. How could I ever be so foolish as to not know how to use Google. Clearly I'm the reason the app won't load or even occasionally pops up with a force close.

No need to mock me I was honestly just trying to help. There are occasional post from folks in here who aren't as tech savvy as the majority of people in these forums. Sorry you felt disrespected or insulted.
Anyway no I don't have these issues at all with the V20. Sorry about your luck.

Hmm, just tried it out and it works like it should for me. On a Tmo V20.

I have the same problem. It's definitely not just you! Although, mine never force closes and always opens the overlay search box, it ALWAYS closes out my search after typing a few characters, and then I have to start again. Frustrating.

Hey, I just tried something and it's an acceptable workaround for me. Hold down the home key until the overlay search box appears and wait a few seconds to let it calm down. Then tap the menu button at the bottom right corner of the screen and choose Settings. Now toggle off the first menu item to disable Now On Tap.
Once that's done, long-pressing the home key will launch the standard Google application, and you can start typing immediately without getting kicked out.

I get the same issue when trying to type into the Google Now on Tap. I'll begin typing then after a few seconds the keyboard will disappear along with what I typed in. I've seen one person say that it was Nova Launcher and once they switched it, the issue was gone. That did not work for me.

Dude, just do what I suggested in the post directly above yours. Turn off Now On Tap and you're all good.
