Hello,
I am currently using goldeneye 6.3 with kt kernel TMO variant, on an SGH-i337m.
I tried installing V4A every way possible, and only got it working on 2 occasions (out of hundreds of tries!) for at most 3 songs. (Switching to and from safe mode and compatibility mode, rebooting every few steps; moving the apk into system, installing it there with root; doing these steps with cache/dc wipes; redoing these steps, etc............!!!)
Although few in number, those songs that played with the V4A eq sounded so good that this utility is now a must-have for me.
Can anyone recommend a ROM they know plays nice with V4A, and also is touchwiz based? (I can't help but feel like I don't want to give up any of those samsung features!)
Thanks!

None, i cannot get it working on any TW Rom, i think it may work on a CM rom
Works perfect on GE 6.1 / KT for me. I assume you selected the right driver, followed the V4A instructions post exactly, etc? I use PowerAmp for music and copied the EQ settings from a post I saw on the GE thread. I know it works because turning the V4A Effects On and Off I hear a huge difference. Without V4A, music sounds more muffled. Having it enabled, bass is deep, clarity is crisp, etc. And I go from The Beatles to Wu Tang to Swedish House Mafia to comedy albums...all sound great.

Hey guys,
I'm goin crazy trying to solve this problem on my own so I gotta ask you guys out here.
So recently my phone has been acting strangely.
Everything is working as per normal then one day videos can't play properly. It will lag or stutter slowly, and no audio coming out of speakers.
Playing music doesn't work anymore, speakers just not generating any kind of audio.
Ringtones, notification sounds just dont work anymore.
Weird thing is when i reboot phone, during the samsung logo animation, there's audio for that.
After that, phone calls got sucky, I can't hear the caller, and not sure if caller can hear me. Very annoying.
So I thought my phone has gone way past it's time, and needed a good update. so I rooted my phone.
I've installed CWM, I think its version 6.03..
got that SU thingy,
and then installed cynogen rom (following instructions here: http://primehowto.com/install-android-4-4-4-kitkat-galaxy-s4-active-i9295-via-cm11/ )
I'm not a pro at this so I'm not sure if everything is done right.
Anyways, after doing everything, phone is still the same. theres basically no audio coming out anywhere on my phone at all.
speakers, headset, call speaker..
I want to try to re-do my rooting and installing a rom again from fresh, if you guys can provide me detailed step-by-step instructions i will truly appreciate it. (from start to finish, as if i just got a new stock phone and want to root and install a good stable rom, im not into experimental one. i need a working phone thats all. and which proper files i should get. )
Here are the details of my phone:
Samsung Galaxy S4 Active Model: GT-I9295
CynogenMod Version: 12-20150409-NIGHTLY-jactivelte
Android Version: 5.0.2
Baseband version: I9295XXUCNF1
Kernel version:
3.4.106-cyanogenmod-g91f93db
[email protected] #1
Build Number: cm_jactivelte-userdebug 5.0.2 LRX22G f86bdc2596 test-keys
SELinux status: Enforcing
Please help!!
Thank you thank you thank you so much

In recovery mode, ive wipe data and start a new phone. Sound during calls is back, but still vídeo lag and no sound in other stuffs.
Then ive install sound adapt (from google play), and configured to earpiece.
After a reboot, everysound start to play again.

Hi guys,
does anyone know if Viper4Android can be installed to OxygenOS? Honestly, I don't really like Audio Tuner. That's why i would like to use V4A. Is there some kind of flashable zip which automatically removes Audio Tuner (like AudoFX etc.) and installs Viper on top?
Also, do I have to set the kernel still to permissive?
Thanks in advance!
I too wish to install Viper4Android. Has anyone managed to do so on the OnePlus 2?
I tried this but I get a very distorted audio when I enable V4A. Anyone got it working?
Thats because V4A does not work on OxygenOS, at least not for now. But if you flashed a CM based rom however, it should work as per normal.
Viper is not operating properly
As for me lolliviper is making noisy sounds when activated either with cm12.1 rom or oxygen os. I hope there will be a fix soon.
Does anyone know why doesnt v4a work with oxygen and can it be fixed? is it a fundamental unfixable problem or just a weird bug?
Go get the new community build of OxygenOS 3.0! V4A finally works!
Hi i found this mod and it´s excellent, very crisp and clear.
I used it on many roms 5x-6x etc always working and never gave bootloop.
Maxaudio is okay, but nut nearly what our device is cable of performing.
Made by this brilliant dude worstenbrod here > http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/mod-dolby-atmos-t3109446
Just flash dap_r6.5 zip in twrp
Can anyone confirm if the sound is better?
Can it be flashed with FlashFire (without custom recovery)?
If you get it working (don't forget to backup ROM) for sure you will get a great improvement.
In my G2 I had a couple of sound MOD that I was not able to live without is what I miss most on my G4.
I will unlock my G4 and try if it works. The MOD is this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/mod-beatsaudio-e-xloud-installer-t3029951
Hello guys.
2 weeks ago my oneplus one got stolen and after that i decided to get a new contract with the p9 lite for free.
In this 2 weeks my phone crashed so many times, spotify crashes non stop, everything feels so slow. In my opo i used most of the time cm with viper4android cuz music is for me one of the most important things on my phone and the other stuff was great too for me. At least i have to say that actually all oft that sucks on my p9. I would give that phone a try with a custom Rom or maybe stock? What would u recommend to me? I cant believe that this is normal with that hardware.
Best regards Woozyclown
That is NOT normal behaviour, my phone never gave me a single problem. Unfortunately, the custom ROM scene is still in an EXTREMELY early stage, I tried them all and would NOT recommend any custom firmware for daily usage as people are still working on those and maybe in some months, but not now. If your bootloader is unlocked, I would recommend flashing your firmware ex novo (possibly a debranded one specific for your device), installing a custom recovery and root your device. From there, you can install all the mods you want (just be careful and do backups before you install any). I am using A.R.I.S.E. sound mods, they work very, very well. If you need any help, just ask!
Sorry, but in my opinion custom ROM for our P9 lite are already usable as daily driver.
I used CyanogenMod 13, Resurrection Remix (6.0.1) and now LineageOS 14.1.
So far, I can say that CyanogenMod 13 is pretty stable, it does not have any bug and I used it as daily driver. Resurrection Remix only has a problem video video recording, but everything else works. LineageOS 14.1 is already stable, the only "big" issue that is has are USB tethering, Wi-Fi/Bluetooth hostpot but I guess they will be fixed soon and SELinux.
If you follow carefully the instructions to install a ROM, I don't see any problems.
I am personally on LineageOS and I managed to install Dolby Atmos, it works very good
Thanks for ur answers. I will take a look on cm and lineageOS. What sound options would give me Dolby atmos? Is it like viper4android? I dont need 5.1 Simulation or something like that, just need it for a eq and to enhance the loudness.

Dolby Atmos boost up sound, I have excellent bass sounds and also volume increase without losing quality. Also it's customizable and you can modify the options, although default settings are already great.
Same here i havent flashed any rom and im still on marshmallow phone runs perfectly fine
I flashed stock oreo roms on my g5 plus using fastboot and twrp methods. I also tried different versions of it (soak test 1 and october patch).
Each time I flashed the stock oreo rom, I encountered audio issues on music player apps like play music, spotify etc.
When a song played, I could hear a slight buzz as the song was playing, making it seem like the audio file has problems. Happens when I plug in headphones/use speakers.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling those apps and factory reset but nothing seems to fix this.
This does not happen with apps like youtube or the phone app, where the audio is absolutely normal. (with headphones/speakers/earpiece).
I have used custom nougat roms (stock and custom) and custom oreo roms like RR, PE and never faced such an issue with audio quality before.
Can anyone help me identify what the problem is?
please help if possible!
can anyone help?
guys can anybody help me out??

There's most likely no way to figure out why some apps sound normal for you and others don't. A clean flash is always a good advice, if that doesn't help it's most likely a hardware issue (of your device or your audio hardware). I flashed stock Oreo a few days ago, rooted with magisk and flashed viper4android and ainur sauron as modules. The sound is great using Poweramp, YouTube or any other source.
