Ok so over the past couple of days I have noticed that my Gmails are not deleting on the server end, just one my phone. Has anyone else noticed this problem and/or found a fix for it? Sync settings is showing that everything is syncing just fine but nothing is deleting on the server end.
I noticed this, I would delete inbox items that would go to trash but they would not delete when choosing empty trash, and would still show in all mail and under important. Then when reopening Gmail they were back in the inbox.
It was like this for the past few days and bugging me like crazy, but yesterday everything deleted normally and everything seems to be back to normal, not sure what was going on but maybe it was server side?

yes its a gmail server issue....same thing happens to yahoo all the time. it has something to do with executing the command from your phone.
try clearing your gmail data and re-sync.

Well ive pretty much given up on getting my gmail pushed to my 8125 since nothing has seemed to work so i was just going to go back to using outlook to check my mail every 5 minutes. This used to work when i first set it up but i tried it today and whenever i hit send/receive it never brought up any messages even though i just sent it from my yahoo account. I then deleted the gmail account off of the phone and re-set it up. I sent a test message from my yahoo account, hit send/receive, and it showed up. I then sent a test message from my comcast account and it showed up also, one problem though....the first message from my yahoo account dissapeared. I thought it was strange so i hit send/receive again and the second message i sent to myself from comcast also dissapeared. Im not deleting the messages off of the servers or anything, they just dissapear whenever i hit send/receive. Im getting really fed up with trying to set up my email account and im very tempted to just go back to my treo....

I have a T-mobile MDA and I have the same problem with gmail. When I first set it up I had 200+ emails then everytime I did a send/receive I would loose some until finally I lost all of them. I tried downloading straight from gmail and the same thing happened. Now I can't get anything when I send/Receive. According to T-mobile this is a known issue with gmail...they said that gmail is still a beta setup and their pop settings don't always work. I have since just had my gmail forwarded and it seems to work..atleast I know that it is there
Well I don't know if this exactly a fix....but I use gmail as my main account and I just have my gmail forwarded to an exchange account I have. I mean...I do have to prune two accounts but, as for now, its the only soloution I have.

I've been having some problems with POP3 and gmail on my TyTN/8525. That problem being: it doesn't work anymore. It worked great for about a week, then just stopped working for no apparent reason. I didn't change any of my gmail settings during this time.
After it stopped working, I randomly got 5 of the 100+ e-mails that I was suppsoed to get. Gmail is receiving them fine and I can see them when I login to gmail, they just don't get downloaded when my phone pops it. I can send e-mail through gmail's pop fine.
Anyone have a clue what my problem might be?

Which wireless provider?
Have you tried deleting the Gmail account on the TyTn and then re-adding it?
Can you POP3 access it from you'r home computer etc (to make sure it is not a Gmail issue)?
If these do not help post you're setup so we can take a look
I think the problem seems to stem from the fact that Gmail breaks down your messages in groups, like around 300 or so messages at a time. On top of that, Pocket IE doesn't download the full messages by default and, as such, leaves a copy of the messages on the server. I think when this happens, Gmail doesn't prepare the next "group" of messages to send to you. Also, Pocket IE, by default, is set to show only messages from the last 3 days, so even though it may have downloaded a bunch of messages, you'll only see the ones that are 3 days old or less. You'll want to uncheck that option.
Try setting up your account as you normally would in the desktop mail app of your choice, Outlook Express for example. Make sure it isn't set to leave a copy of the messages on the server. If Outlook Express didn't download the first group of messages, make sure to do a manual send and receive. That will hopefully tell Gmail to prepare your next group of messages. Alternate Send/Receives with your phone and Gmail until you get to your most recent messages. Also, try putting recent in front of your user name, IE, "recent:[email protected]" instead of just your user name/e-mail address.
i find with gmail that it stops working every few weeks and i have to go into gmail on my pc and re-check the Get all pop email from now, ( it seems there are too many emails to be sent down )
using the "recent:" prefix before your login in your outlook username should fix this.

So I set up the email to sync email "as it arrives" in the settings. Which only seems to be in affect for the first few days. Now it sync "as it wants to".
Once in a while I'll get an email right a way. Most times I have to send/receive a bunch of times, soft reset, sync with Windows Live and hope that it finds a few more.
As well the inbox should always hold 50 emails. Now when I delete emails from my inbox on the phone it doesn't sync with the server and days later I log into hotmail on my PC and those emails I deleted are still there. So it's only removing them from my phone's inbox.
I tried clearing my Windows Live login and everything and re-doing it and setting it up from scratch again but it seems to fall back into this same routine after another day or so.
Anyone else experience this and find a way to resolve it?
Did not find anything in a search. It seems like every couple of days or so my inbox purges itself of everything but new mail. The messages are still in my inbox on the pc, just not the phone. I am sure this is a setting I am missing, but where is it? Thanks in advance for any advice offered.
Have you checked how many day's mail you are downloading? The default is 3 days and messages older than this will be deleted from your phone.
make sure you are using imap gmail.
if you are using pop3 it will do that. And also check that you have imap service on from gmail website. and like ^^ said make sure you have it set for more days.
By default mine deletes off the phone once it's checked on the PC.
I've been having trouble with gMail for a while now anyway. I use its Exchange feature to deliver PUSH e-mail, as it arrives. The server seems to disappear regularly and, when it returns, messages are deleted from my phone in chunks. Sometimes, it seems as though one message in particular blocks the account from receiving more for a while, then, suddenly, a batch will arrive. I wonder if this strange behaviour also shows itself with straightforward POP and IMAP accounts.
Hi guys, I have a strange problem with the standard email app on the s6e+.
I have my .live.co.uk (hotmail) account on my phone, it auto discovers the account info, and all works ok, sends and receives fine, except when I delete an email, it will then reappear as a new email 5 mins later. So if I delete 5 emails, after a short amount of time, I will have the same 5 new emails again that I have already deleted!
I've had a bit of a search on here and can't see anything that relates to my issue.
I've deleted the account and cleared the info from the email app so I've definitely cleared everything and started again.
I cba defaulting the whole phone when I might not work anyway
I have another email account from my domain and that works 100%, so must be Hotmail, but I've never seen any of my android phones do this!
Has anyone come across this before??
