[Q] How to make MF3 snappier? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

Well my S4 is running MF3, rooted and bloatware frozen... however sometimes it lags, even my S2 running Shostock 3.0.2 (based on 4.1.2) is way more snappier. So all you guys with MF3 what are you doing to make this crap MF3 worth the "S4 name" ?
Thanks.

I have been on a quest to see "lag" on S4 which I cannot say I have seen (or it is in places I am not paying attention to)
However I have been checking out some apps that state they make you device run like new or something towards those lines. maybe I can help you
#1 Get XPOSED FRAMEWORK from apps store (free) - this is like a gateway to some cooler fucntionality
#2 Get GREENIFY from apps store (free) - read instructions - do not greenify clocks or messaging apps or they wont work
--use common sense basically, I greenify all games, browsers....stuff that I start interaction with.
#3 Get WANAM XPOSED from apps store (free) - here you can adjust colors and a lot of functionality.
---one thing of interest is ENABLE BOOST MODE (enables benchmark boosting for CPU to achieve MAX power)
#4 Get Android Tuner (free/paid) - I paid for mine. However this app lets you tune every aspect of the OS, if you're a power linux guy you'll pick up on what it is doing.
---however this provides a feature called TRIM which keeps the drive/storage at top performance. Google "ssd trim" for details if you dont know what it is
Now I can use these apps *blindly* and force my phone to run slow, but if I disable them (back to stock settings) I seem to run just fine
A word of caution:
Throwing every "enhancement" feature from different 3rd party application on top of each other can have a negative effect.
*Ever run 2 decent antiviruses at the same time? They play tug-of-war with infected files and you lose performance

Thanks for those recommendations.. they look awesome will try one at a time except the XPOSED FRAMEWORK.. until a flashable image of MF3 is rolling, I'm trying to avoid messing with framework...
But well this is lag is kinda weird.. for example after using the browser or any other app for a bit of time then when press home button it lags to show the default screen and when it does the whole "desktop" is been redrawed of course this not always happen, sometimes it's very fast.
Also sometimes scrolling between the windows is very fast but sometimes very slow. And this lag is present when using several launchers, apex pro, nova or touchwiz, and i don't have much widgets running.. exactly the same as my galaxy s2 which can handle all this light usage without a problem..

Gee I dont experience any of those problems.
Scratch that - I do get desktop redrawn if I play a heavy game for a while. I do remember seeing it put back the weather and the icons. Nothing I would consider a showstopper nor can I make it happen on demand
I am using the default Samsung Touch Wizard and no other launcher
Good luck in your quest of the Lag Beast

[Q] protect apps to prevent lag

Hi
I have done the 1-click lagfix that relies on ext2.
I have also installet autokill (the one that changes the internals of the system)
I have 2200 point in qualcom.
STILL I have massive lagg now. It started out well after the rooting, but now its worse than ever. In fact I have even failed to answer a call due to the lagging.
(I have installed Tasker and have 4 tasks set up, i really hope this is not the reason because I would really miss tasker)
I can notice a big differense if I start the dialer and press Home istead of Back. Assuming Back actually kills the process? If I use Home, I can bring it up again in a split second. Using Back and it an take everything from 300 ms to 4000 ms.
I have now started to experiment with Launcher Pro (who some claims to be faster) but this is actuall just a shell and I cannot dedect any differense.
I have tried different presets in autokill, but since this lag is probably not due to lack of memory, i have now set it to "system default".
Is there a way to keep important processes in memory all the time? Like the dialer, contactbook, sms etc? I dont really care if it takes 500 ms longer to start up google maps or facebook, but the PHONE FEATURES must work properly on the phone.
I run a stockrom JM2
hello, as well as the lag fix, I also disabled ui animations and installed autokiller set to strict or optimum and the lag is now minimal for me, it's still there at times but not as bad as you describe.
ironicly i didnt have this problem before lagfix/autokill. It was there so i decided to run the fix (and the qualcom-score is always cool i thought). But now its worse.
Does anyone have experience with tasker as a performance-killer?

ICS 4.04 disapointment ...

Hello, I just installed the stock ICS on my Xoom, and I'm disapointed ...
As everybody was saying "the Xoom is now a whole new device", I was expecting so ...
There are good points with ICS :
- new functionalities like icons directories.
- gpu acceleration for a few 2D applications.
- a few websites are now smoother.
- typing texts in forums is now fast.
- a lot more available memory : around 512Mb instead of 400Mb in 3.2.1. EDIT : since a reboot of my Xoom, the available memory dropped down to 360Mb !!!
But I was expecting a lot more fluidity, smoothness, from the 2D applications of Android.
- the new market is more laggy than the one of honeycomb 3.2.1.
- some web pages are smoother now, but some other are slower !!!! XDA for exemple lags more than in 3.2.1 !!!
- the 2D GPU acceleration does not work for all applications : even when "force 2d acceleration" is selected, some applications become smooth, some other don't, even when they are the same kind of applications.
- stock web browser crashes more than in 3.2.1.
- on stock browser search string on some forums don't work anymore (try on XDA !), same problem with some dropdown menus which let the web page disappearing ...
- the new kill apps system in ICS does not really kill all apps. So we still need an app killer.
- the portrait mode is still laggy compared to the landscape mode.
- the available memory, when the Xoom has just been rebooted, vary between 510Mb and 360Mb ... !!! With absolutly no change in my Xoom configuration.
- When you force OFF the screen rotation in landscape mode, if you lock the Xoom and put it in portrait position, when you unlock the Xoom the display will be in portrait mode, and right after the Xoom will be unlocked it will go back to Landscape mode. This bug didn't exist in Honeycomb.
- the cursor to select text to copy seems more difficult to position than in Honeycomb.
- if you kill the stock browser with an app killer, when you relaunch the browser it will then open the last visited website, which is as expected. But if you kill the browser with the Android task killer, then the browser (when relaunched) will display nothing.
So I don't feel like I have a new device, some things are better, some worse.
As I am very concerned by the Android fluidity, ICS is a big step forward, but there are still some more steps to do, and I hope we will be able, one day, to see Android as fluid as an ipad on our Xoom ... But I guess I should stop dreaming.
Maybe you should trying running one of those custom ROMS and see if you see and
better performance or features..it's worth a shot
I think even Stevie Wonder saw this thread coming.

You may be right but I would expect Google to optimize more Android without the need of tuning a custom Rom to gain (maybe) a few more images per seconds ...
With this thread I wanted to ađvise people who are still waiting for the ICS update to minimize what they can expect of it, this way they may not be as disapointed as I was...

No.
Most of the stuttering is caused by apps which are written by developers who don't really understand Android,
Seriously.
Pay attention to which apps aren't responsive. Look at memory use, wake locks, watch for unnecessary services and background threads.
Eliminate apps one-by-one until stuttering in menus and the desktop stops. Don't run live wallpapers.
Factory reset. System settings from prior Android revisions can cause problems.
I have fixed many of my friends' Android devices when they blamed the device or OS for lag.
Stock 4.04 is quite responsive and fluid. If yours isn't, it's probably the apps you've installed or settings conflicts.
Change animation settings under development to none or at least down to .5 from 1.0.
Use a third party launcher and third party browser if unsatisfied with stock. We have choice...we can use it.
My Xoom is as smooth as butter...no lag or stutter at all.
I always choose the apps to install according to their fluidity. I know some apps are badly developped. I also have no apps running in background (that's why I choosed the stock ICS), always killing running apps before running a new one. I also don't use animated background.
I do my best to let my Xoom run as smooth as possible.

Have you changed your animation settings under Developer Options (in Settings Menu, toward the bottom) If you don't need animations, then change the settings to "none" it will make a difference.

Thanks for these advises but the problem for me is not the speed of the device but its fluidity. So changing the animation setting did change the speed of the way the menu are displayed but not the fluidity of the animations.
About the fird party launcher, I think it will not make it run smoother as it will run in the background and occupy memory.

Why, I don't know, but I have always found increased smoothness from launcher like ADWEX. As they say, "your mileage may vary." The configuration in my signature represents what I think is probably the best, smoothest and fastest combination I can find. I also have tons of apps and a pretty elaborate theme and still my Xoom is butter-smooth. It can be done.

Why kill the apps before running a new one? If you are choosing apps based on how well programmed they are that seems completely unnecessary.

Hi,
You didn't mention what apps you are running.
I'm running 4.0.4 stock rooted - and no issues in general. It got very laggy once after running for a week, but a reboot fixed it. Like any OS, very complex and not perfect - reboot once in a while.
I honestly don't find ICS to be very much different than HC (nor did I expect it to be). (ICS is what google wanted HC to be but ran out of time, so released HC)

Adw auncher makes for a much smoother home screen experiance than stock. Stock struggles with more than a couple of Widgets. Its a diferant experiance, but definatly faster.

I thought you took it as a personal attack because you said "stop using crappy apps", which to my point of view is agressive.
That's it. I'm sorry if your goal was not to be agressive.
You know, there are lots of fixes for any problems this device had at one time, but many require rooting and installing custom roms/kernels/recoveries and certain non-stock apps. I realize that some people like staying stock as much as possible...I don't. I want to get root immediately and start customizing. That's just me. Some people don't like to eat meat...I do. Some people can't imagine not driving everywhere...I've never owned a car. We're all different. But sometimes you just have to understand that your desire to stay all stock comes at a price. Lag exists. That's why custom roms exist...to eliminate lag, among other brilliant things.

[how to] have a lighter and faster stock rom!!!

First of all, please allow me to express that this method is not taken from somewhere else or not required any expertise to implement. This is just based on to remove heavy TW applications, and find better replacements for them. Mainly, this is not a mod at all
I am sharing this method because it is tried by lots of people and they conveyed their appreciation for overall performance and battery life increase.
As a start, either Flash a fully Stock odexed Rom or flash a TW based Custom Rom.
Then root it, and flash a performance kernel. Preferably H.O.C Hello World Kernel v1.3.7b.
Make a Full Nandroid Backup including /preload partition. I bear no responsibility for any lost info or broken device. (Actually it is impossible to break the phone by implementing this method but who knows
Then install Titanium Backup. Backup all user and system apps.
These are all kind of prerequisites. There we start now
First thing to be done is to get rid of TW Launcher. IT is hell of a burden for whole system. Best replacement for me is Nova Launcher. You choose your own. After you settle with new launcher and rest assured that it is OK, freeze TW via TB. Thanks to this step we have gained more than 50 mb of RAM
Second thing is to get rid of is Gallery. Due to Facebook, Picasa, G+, etc. integration Gallery is always working background and pushes system very hard. Best and fastest replacement is stock Android/Google Camera and Gallery. Here is the link: http://db.tt/L1ip1Inp Flash it via Recovery. This will install system folder. You can find preload variations on the net.
After you install the zip, set video recording resolution to 480p. Otherwise it gets stuck. When you confirm that media scanner is completed and Camera is working including whole features, then you can freeze and/or delete stock gallery and camera apps.
The other wise thing to do to lighten the rom would be deleting some bloatware, actually all bloatwares . Start with ad apps, and continue with live wallpapers and live wallpaper chooser. After that, you can delete Samsung scloud agents. If you are not using them, it will be wise.
Other apps to be deleted could be FM Radio, Google Play Music, etc. The ones you are sure that you are not using. Actually to give a complete and proper list is unfortunately impossible. Cause it is dependent to tastes and choices. For example, I don’t use All Share and Group Play, so I even deleted them. On the other hand, you may be using them. So even if I tell you what I have deleted, it may not work for you.
You can also delete some widget apps like Favorite Apps, contacts, etc. They consume RAM. Get rid of them. If you are not using stock keyboard, then get rid of Samsung IME, swype. Also you can delete street view, double clock, digital clock, etc. You decide it. There are lists floating around in which you can find the app safe to remove.
Any app not essential for system can be deleted. If you are hesitant whether an app is obligatory for system working or not, then just freeze it So that you can defreeze it later on if you face any problems.
I would strongly advise you to get rid of Play Store, Hangout, Play Music, Play Services. If you need GTalk, here it is: http://db.tt/6NKHZMvV (Replace it with Hangout apk (don’t know the name) and set the permissions. If you cannot find a replacement for Play Market, try 1Mobile. It is free. No warez either. Afterwards you won’t need Play Services. System will be free of another heavy duty as well
Now, we set our Rom according to your taste and needs. System is a lot lighter now. It is time to implement some mods.
Search for Direct Injection tweak on xda. Flash it via CWM right away. Let the phone boot.
Then, install Seeder from xda also. Choose all 3 options, set it to moderate and Turn it ON. Reboot the phone again.
After, install No Frills CPU from 1Mobile (we deleted Play Store ). Set governor as HYPER, and scheduler as row. Max Freq: 1,2GHZ; Min:200 MHZ. Tick applying settings on boot. Then activate your Battery Saving Mode.
Finally, go to recovery. Wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache. Let the phone reboot and settle for 30 minutes.
Enjoy the fastest Rom ever
Please do not report battery life before 3 full cycle.
Regards.
Nice guide. Cause you did more than me. But for the launcher, if you don't use widgets and just want ultimate simplicity get Sicksky launcher https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sicksky its the next generation zeam launcher. For me nova launcher still takes up a lot of space due to its number of features. So after reading the whole thread I realised that stock android is the best.

Thanks for reply and advise.
Though I need weather, mail and calender widgets. I dont know if I can use thim with SickSky but if they dont work with it, then sorry
Actually my RAM usage is around 550-650. Itmeans there is a lot of room for Nova Even if you limit background processes via Developer Options by three or two, you will se a noticable RAM usage decrease. Try it now
But still, there may be lots of additions to this. So whoever comes up with a new advise is more than welcomed
This should be a contribution thread, I hope.
I actually love TW starter but will try other things you said.
nice guide though:good:
TW Launcher is the best, I tried almost all launchers but the satisfaction and ease I get with TWL none can provide even if its a little heavy on ram but really not that heavy to make your system laggy.
Overall your motto to keep the rom lite and fast looks good to me but removing Play Store is a crime don't do that. lol

Prologue & Intent
I have used AOSP/CM based roms exclusively since owning Android handsets, there are many benefits to this, especially on handsets that manufacturers simply abandon and leave in a poor state, this is thankfully not the case on our trusty Galaxy S3!
However, one of the bugbears of being in the alpha/beta test world that is CM/AOSP etc, its the many teething bugs that can hamper your usage of the device and to make things more irritating, the S3 has plenty of hardware revisions and proprietary software that makes obtaining a truly perfect experience tricky for the developer and the user to achieve!
For these reasons, like me, you might have decided to return to Samsung stock rom or one of the the excellent refined versions of stock by the likes of @_Sale_ or @qaraqumus (NeatRom 4.3 & QS 4.4.2 N7100 Port).
When you return, you are greeted by missing features, but also greeted with excellent camera, depending on your view more polished stock applications that you can keep or get rid of according to taste. Of course, the main thing you will start to experience is STABILITY and its quite addictive!
So this guide is work in progress, I only returned to stock based roms 3 weeks ago, I really wanted a good stable camera and I was to be fair a bit bored of being a nightlie flashaholic! If you have useful information that can be verified as useful then please contribute and lets help others realise that stock is not a dirty word!
I find that all of the missing features from customs roms can be replicated and there is no reason to think that you will be de-featured by returning to stock, nor are any of these things laborious or complicated!
How to get the missing features back that you loved in custom roms!
So you have gone back to stock!
a) You are enjoying the stability and you probably love having the stock camera back! Oooh, perfect burst mode and video record pause! yum yum!
b) You are sad, you miss quick panels, you miss pie, you hate the annoying battery alerts and camera low functionality on low battery power!
These are the sort of things I felt I could not live without, so with help from my XDA friends, I have found answers to all the stuff I wanted back! If there is is something missing that you want back, ask on this thread and lets see if we can discover more together!
1) How to get back functionality like no low battery alerts, using your camera properly when on low power, browser exit, system tweaks, battery icon location and style, quick settings layout, sound behavior, long back kill, etc etc!
1. Install Xposed Framework, go here and follow instructions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/xposed-installer-versions-changelog-t2714053
2. Install the most excellent apps you will ever install on your custom rom, Wanam Xposed, now you can configure everything I mention and more! : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ma.wanam.xposed&hl=en_GB
3.. Optional install Gravity Box for Xposed, for enabling a few features not included in the more compatible Wanam! Such as full screen lockscreen widgets and some additional hardware key functionality! Be careful ensure that you mirror any similar settings between Wanam and Gravity Box to ensure you have not cross fighting! [/url]
4. Boot Manager - Highlights what apps boot with your phone and allows you to stop them doing so!
5. Flat Style Bar Indicators - Lets you pick some nice looking wifi/mobile indicators for your status bar
6) Recent App Cleaner - Cleans out my recent apps when I turn my screen off and allows you to select apps that you want to keep open as well
7) Xad - Works like Adaway, stopping adverts where it can, its better than adaway as well
8) Xposed Additions - Allow excellent re-mapping of your hardware buttons!
9) XuiMod - Only use this change the system transitions when opening and closing apps, really nice
10) YouTube Adaway - Removes ads and suggestion pop ups in YouTube
11) Start feeling really happy about returning to stock!
How to stop battery drain!
Ok, this is annoying, but it is easy to sort out! there are some basics to observe and then some extra things you can do as well! Everything can be done safely and be reversable so you may experiment freely! Of course, it's a great idea to do a nandroid backup in case you make a mess of things, but if you follow this guide you will be fine and happy!
i) Get Greenify from the Playstore, run it, follow the instructions and limit the apps from waking your device up! On 4.3 roms I find it very useful, however on 4.4.2 I find it a lot less useful, in fact I don't use it at all on QS and I find that xposed Recent App Cleaner performs a better job. However for 4.3 users, stuff like Facebook etc will wake your phone up until the cows come home, but do not greenify apps that you want to be able to deliver on demand messages, like Whatsapp etc, obvious? UPDATE - If you are Pro user then use the Hibernate and Lock Feature to ensure your phone goes to sleep nicely!!!https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.oasisfeng.greenify&hl=en_GB
ii) Instal betterybatterystats, follow the xda thread to understand more about what you are doing and you will soon know which naughty apps that are waking up your device! You can then install apps such as Titanium Backup and freeze those apps, so that they no longer run and no longer drain your battery. If you decide you want an app back, then unfreeze it! It is as safe as that! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.keramidas.TitaniumBackup&hl=en_GB
iii) Tryout Recent App Cleaner for ensuring apps a killed when your screen is off, seems to work better on QS/4.4.2 roms than greenify, read my post here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=58086117&postcount=112
Alternatively use RootAppDelete, i prefer this app, you simply click on system app, choose junior mode (pro mode will delete the app, which is fine if you know for sure you want an app gone forever! or at least untill you next flash an update rom back to your device, disabling is the safer and easier option!) which will then only freeze the apps (just like titanium) and you then tap the offending app and allow it to disable it. If you want one back, then tap the disabled icon and tap the app you want to bring back to life! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=zsj.android.systemappremover&hl=en_GB
What system apps should I get rid of?
This depends on your usage and which revision of android/rom you are using, but for me all of the below were pointless battery draining ram using wastes of space or apps that have a better alternative that are more system resource friendly! If you are unsure, google search the name of the app and you will find results explaining what they were doing within the first page of results, i did!:
NOTE: Please make sure you research each app/service to ensure that your application will not be affected by freezing of any of the below, you can do this in google search or if you use Root App Delete you can press the info button to get an instant google search result!

Custom kernel sir?
Your stock kernel is good! Remember that!
The custom kernels are better if only if you have to have some of the features, like a desperate need to under or overclock your device, change led behavior and so fourth!
There are many to choose from and you will find them easily enough, I am sure you know of them! I use Boeffla and I have a stable gently overclocked profile you can get from my signature if you want an easy ride with great OC performance, stability and great battery results!
However, it's always best to stay on stock kernel whilst you make your system stable, once it is, then is the time to play with your kernel! I won't and nor will most other users want to help you if you don't follow that simple rule!

Yet another screen brigtness app - Sick of Samsung's lame auto brightness feature locking to full brightness and requiring a phone reboot? Bored of Touchwiz and in general all of the samey samey swipey swipey launchers out there? Try Smart Launcher 2! I have not looked back since, perfect experience for your phone, just be willing to play with it for half an hour and I'm sure many of you will appreciate it's overall simplicity! Of and freeze touchwiz afterwards and save yourself a nice chunk of RAM! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ginlemon.flowerfree&hl=en
Trouble shooting
Correct Wiping procedure:
Forgot the correct procedure for wiping your phone when making a switch between rom variants? Just so you do know, when moving from Android revisions or even within the same android build number (i.e. 4.2.2 / 4.3 / 4.31 / 4.4.4 etc) IT IS IMPERATIVE that you Factory Wipe Data, Cache, Davlik and format System! Failure to do so can lead to odd performance or nasty bootloops! Thanks to @andrewwright for reminding me to remind you!
NOTES
I have not developed any of the apps or mods or guides that are linked to this guide, please pay respect to their respective authors and contributors directly on their forum threads.
I will endeavor to update this guide with new things I discover and learn from peoples contributions on this thread.
You always take responsibility for your device! The easy way to protect yourself is make a nandroid backup, back up your apps using titanium backup, freeze or disable your apps rather than uninstall them, don't do anything suggested on this thread unless you are either competent or willing to learn as you make mistakes!

When flashing roms:
To stop the likes of bootloop when swapping between aosp and custom tw sammy roms remember to format data and system in recovery FIRST then flash rom/gapps. factory reset isnt enough imo for a clean install. When returning with an odin flash if you have a bootloop go into recovery and "factory reset" and reboot the phone.
I see so many threads started about these bootloop problems when swapping between aosp and tw its a good idea to have this here imo.
Also for the total noobs out there...PIT FILES are a LAST resort! Dont mess with these till you understand what there for. If you still dont understand after reading about pit files....ASK SOMEONE. Dont just flash and hope for the best.
Great idea and a good guide.

I'll add a trouble shooting section and incorporate this, thanks for contributing!
I forgot that some people don't always know the mega basics!
And God, I hope people don't use pit files on this device! I made custom pit files for the s2, but that device needed them! I have threads for that work, but yes no need for people to play with that on our trusty phone!

I think gravitybox has more features than wanam. Like double tap notification bar to sleep.
probably you should include gravitybox modules. I'm using it. On archidroid.

Indeed, I use Gravity box also, I need a bit of both to get the system functionality I desire.
I will be updating the OP for Gravity box shortly, there are a few things to be cautious of according to some user reports, so I need to put a disclaimer to it. Cheers for contributing :good:

yeah. GB is not meant for samsung touchwhiz. wanam is designed for touchwhiz.
so far i dont have any issue.
the reason why i use GB is because
-double tap status bar to lock screen
-status bar icon can be changed to kitkat icons
-ram bar available for recents apps
if only wanam have these features then i would go for wanam.
currently having greenify and gravitybox in my xposed module.

It's very hard to differentiate between archi and neat, both as good as each other!
Mixing both modules no issues, but obviously make sure your settings between the two don't conflict otherwise you could have issues.

Give the profile a try and find out. I find ondemand the most balanced performing governor, offering both performance and battery saving potential. However, upon my using my v3 profile for s couple of days, I have chose to alter my setting of swappiness from 60 to 40 and have altered the zram down to 160mb. The balancing of the profile is getting close to perfect and I hope to release a final version by next weekend!
Let me know how you get on if you choose to try

LAG Fix and FROZEN Apps

What I did to get rid of the random jitters that is sadly on the Note 4. For those of us who hate three second lags
Caution: Not responsible for ANYTHING that happens to your phone
Root Requirements:
Tip One: Freeze / completely remove any unwanted bloats you have no use for. I prefer to freeze, never know what the future holds
Tip Two: I disabled both eMMC Entropy contribution as well as SDCard entropy contribution. Using any kernel modifier app (I'm a fauxclock kind of a girl)
Next Two is Thanks to @megalomanic14 Per @eduardmc recommendationTip Three: Uncheck Force Gpu Rendering in developer options
Tip Four: Use Wanam xpose to deactivate Dvsf under Advanced
It did not do any major hit on my battery, Been running average 6 hour battery since receiving my note, and I have done the same screen time Yesterday and by the way things are going today, Will be achieving the same.

Thanks for the tips! We should start a thread (or I can hijack this one) where we talk about the stuff that we are able to freeze without any side effects. Would you mind going through some of the stuff you froze?

However some folks may need email and Lookout. I prefer Cerberus over lookout and only use GMAIL on my device.
as far as the google apps and greenify, if you use Xposed and use the Greenify module, no need to change to user.
Also if you use Xposed, and S-Health, make sure you make the changes from the other dozen threads or you'll self induce lots of lag.
I wonder if to add any battery tip lol

That's pretty high for stock. I'm at 1.5 stock rooted not debloated.. and with that list she has debloated, most definitely should lower ram usage.
Guys, I think this may be a big part of what you're describing...
http://gs5.wonderhowto.com/how-to/f...es-when-using-xposed-your-galaxy-s5-0157344/#
I just followed the steps listed there, and all of my apps started responding like new, and the 2-3 second freezing I was experiencing is gone as well.
Turns out it was Xposed Framework, and a build.prop line that needs to be changed from true to false.
Give it a try, and see if that doesn't fix your issues as well. I was just about to wipe and start over, when I thought, "Let me google that..." and found the link above.

thanx, follow this guide and the phone is really responsive now. Very Smooth (but i think i could be smoother coming from the htc m8). installed xposed and wanam, did not have a problem with Shealth since i previously disabled it. Don't use it - dont need it. Everyone who wants the smoother faster experience right now should follow this guide.
I removed a bunch of these as described in OP. I've also gona a lot further and removed a lot of other apps and processes. I was able to get every app installed on the phone, down to just one page and freed up 1Gb of data. From a fresh reboot, I'm only using 1.16Gb of RAM. After some useage and being idle, it's about 1.65Gb. Before I was normally sitting around 1.80Gb used and over 2Gb after light useage. So this list definitely helps and I haven't lost any functionality or get any errors.
OP Should add this to the list.
it actually increase the performance BY ALOT .
THANX TO
"MEGALOMANIC14" FIREKATN4
"1. Uncheck Force Gpu Rendering in developer options...about phone, click MegaKat V10 (whatever build your on) 10 times to unlock dev options
2. Use Wanam and Xposed to deactivate Dvsf under Advanced in Wanam...dramatic boost in responsiveness, lower running temp, no screen dimming or cpu throttling
3. Change Animation and Transition settings in developer options...set all 3 from 1.0x to 0.5x. ..another huge boost to responsiveness and speed of any launcher
4. Greenify all downloaded user apps...Dont touch system app/don't activate greenify xposed mod
5. Disable the follow apps
Samsung Push Service
Google Chrome
Google Books
Google Magazines
Google Music
Google Hangouts
Google Plus
*obviously unless you use any of the above
6. Install latest Google Play Services apk...def seems to have lower battery drain that previous few apks ...thanks pierriotis for the new apk
https://mega.co.nz/#!6JpBAaYZ!xyyIch...hb-U1960ZaLhaQ
7. Disable google location history and location reporting...doesn't affect maps or g now at all only stops a ton of data mining and wake locks
8. Do not use power saving mode...it defeats the optimizations and tweaks I've done to make the battery life so awesome
Enjoy the new build...latterly for those who want v1 on crack and steroids...use multicore controller or setcpu to max throttle the cpu to 2.7 ghz full time on performance governor lol then you're head will be spinning"
