If you are rooted, you can use Xposed framework. The framework allows you make all types of changes to your ROM, even stock. Instructions and a detailed description are here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1574401
Once you have framework installed, you can choose which mods you want to run, a list can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2327541
I am currently using GravityBox with 4.3 rooted stock and it works great.

Thanks

Thanks. It worked. Installed Xposed and then gravity box and de-linked the volume.. but to modify the notification volume i had to install another app.. sound under settings wouldn't let me do it. so installed volume + and it worked.

From your home screen, if you hit the volume up or down, you will see a small settings icon appear next to the volume bar that comes up.
From there, you can change volume of media, notifications, and ringtones separately.

An app similar to Invisibright Pro but for Volume?

I use the invisibright app because it gives you the option to stick it in the notifications bar so you can access it whenever you need to change the brightness. I'm looking for a similar app that does the same except this time, its the volume settings, not brightness. My volume rockers have been modded to be used as menu and back buttons, which I find really handy, so I'm left with using recent plus to access volume settings. Sometimes it takes a while to have recent plus start up, and pulling up the notification bar is faster. Is there such an app?

Have you tried this one? Sounds like what you're looking for:

in recent plus you can set it for both volume and brightness all in the same long press

That's what I'm currently using for volume. I don't like it that much though because sometimes it takes forever to show up. The 'long-press' on that app seems to be a 'press for a lifetime' for me.

I emailed the dev about it. Received a reply 5 minutes later (talk about excellent customer service!) He acknowledged my suggestion of being able to change the volume as well, and said that he'll get it working pretty soon.

Hey guys,
I'm working on this today and ran into an interesting issue. Normally, volume rockers can are "smart" by sending a volume up/down event to the currently open app. You'll see this when you hit the rocker while playing music and it knows to adjust the media volume, not the system volume. If I implement this in the slider, I have a bad feeling that the key remap mod will kick in and it'll send a menu button action or something. Can someone (with a Nook) willing to test this out for me give me a quick PM? I only have a Droid Charge.
UPDATE:
nvm, found a much better way of doing it
Thanks.

This is great news, danny. I'm willing to test anything for you, but the thing is I've got my NC bricked just yesterday. :'( I've been up all night trying to fix it! T_T Once I get it up and running again I'll be 100% supporting this project of yours! ^_^
InvisiBright updated
3.3 now has options for volume and new slider height settings (both for tablets). Enjoy!

[Q] increase the volume of nexus 4 with or without root and

Hello everyone as the title would like to know how to increase the volume of the nexus 4 with or without root and because known that notifications and sound etc. .. is how low, I state that disposistivo is all original with root permissions with version 4.2.2 thanks in advance
Sorry dont understand your post fully but use the volume keys on the side? If you go to settings and sound youll be able to change your volume for notifications, apps, alarms. There will be many apps available on the play store that will allow you to easily change all these from your homescreen. I dont think you have to root.

Hi,
You can use a custom kernel like Faux kernel that include some patches to increase the speaker volume (and also the quality).
You can use an init.d script to tweaks some values or use his app (search for Speaker Loudness from Faux123 on the Play Store).
_motley kernel uses also these patches, maybe another kernel too (I have not looked at all the kernels that are available).
It works great

[Q] Change notification volume on stock rom

Hi
I would like to change notification volume (not ring)
I am on stock rooted rom with Franco kernel.
I use light flow app and widgetsoid, both have option to change notification volume only but it doesn't work. My notification volume doesn't change.
Any idea how to change this?
There is an app in Google play https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ta.volumecontrol
that will change every volume level without root!
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
Yes, but this and other apps like this in Google Play change both ring and notification volume.
If I set notification volume for example to 3/7, then ring volume automatically set to the same value

That's what I found, even when the app lets you set the volume levels separately. Missed a couple of calls until I saw an incoming call notification on the lock screen.

[Q] Notification Volume

So I've run across an issue that is quite bothersome to me.
is there no option to make the notification volume change with the ringer volume?
I haven't found the setting anywhere and on both my old htc and samsung devices there was an option, does lg not have one or am I missing it?

If you press the settings cog in the volume slider in the notification Window it let's you change volume for a bunch of different things, I'm not sure if that's what you are looking for.

No, I know how to change the volume.
What I'm looking for is a setting to make the notification volume change at the same time as the ringer volume.

Gotcha, I haven't looked too hard at that, I will take a look when I get a few minutes.
I'm sure there's an app that let's you do this. Have you checked the play store?
Nothing that I've found works so far

Hide nav bar root required

Sideload and install gmd hide soft keys run it and select hide soft keys keys and setup your quick nav bar ..my suggestion is to use the pro version of gmd and set navigation control's to none and then use udn pro as your navbar which seems to work better for me
Sent from my KFAPWI using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Works great, but how do you get the new nav bar to push everything up when on the bottom? Right now I have it set to 20px so it doesn't interfere with much, but it conflicts with my keyboard from time to time...

Did you guys lose menu buttons on some apps after installing these? My menu buttons for Voice and Trillian for instance have vanished and the menu button for the bar doesn't work on most apps for me.
Edit: Never mind, my issue was related to a busybox installation that was fixed by installing with a different installer. Oops.
Thanks for the info on this, it's very useful and stock is kinda lackluster.

I just got the same problem.
You mean that re-install the busybox will solve this?

I used the one from Faznx92's root tutorials, but I never had a busybox problem...
Something weird is going on, I got the menu problem again after rebooting I guess. Every time I uninstall busybox I get them back. I'll try the method OP used.
Edit: I keep getting the same problem. Each time I enable the auto hide soft keys app, I lose menu buttons in apps. Thr trick I found is to launch them all after booting then enable the auto hide. Just need to do that every time you reboot.
I would still love to be able to fix it for good
Freeze or uninstall stock "Soft Key Bar?"
Is it possible to remove it completly? I use auto hide soft keys but the stock Soft Key Bar interferes with it.

Do you guys know any way of swapping the default navbar with an aosp navbar? I want it to stay without hiding. I am mainly missing the recent apps button in the default navbar.
Thanks a lot!
You can disable the navbar with gravity box and use pie controls. That's what I do
Use UDN lite. Its far better and has more customization in the free version.
