GSMarena is showing a FM radio app on at least one of the international versions http://www.gsmarena.com/lg_g2-review-982p8.php . I wonder if this is still in the hardware or not.

Going over kernel sources I'm thinking the g2 is like the g. All variants have FM hardware support but its a matter if a) kernel has all the modules enabled and b) antenna pin is grounded or connected.
If someone wants I can build you the modules to insmod into the kernel to see if you can get FM support going. Just tell me which varient you have.

No.
G2 even needs a special switch chip to select between BT and FM digital audio.
Only the International (or Sprint LS980) models that came with a stock FM app can work.

Why didn't you post in that thread? We really don't need another, especially when the answer is in the thread you quoted...
You can't. Even if "some" of the hardware is there, there is no kernel support or drivers. With no kernel support and no drivers, it's not happening.
Ok thanks
I will continue on the quoted topic

Thanks i will consider that, although i am a little skeptic about a rom developed in China, you know. You never know.I mean for the code in it , so the best variant is stock rom , which is the google`s one.I found the stock rooted image of 4.2.1 now i can do voice calls , and when i am done, the phone automatically returns to lte - if the signal is better than h+.Not sure for the last one though.Could you give me a link to test that Mui after all I purchased my phhone two days ago and stil can`t able to navigate tru the devolopments threads , way too many.

Yes im on tmobile us.Could you give me a link for this zip i'm not sure i have the same. There is not much difference in 4.2.1.and 4.2.2. or there is, i guess some security holes?Oh the reason im on stock rom and not on CM is when makinf a video call in skype the app just force closes. And i am not sure if there is CM which is 4.2.1?

What CM10.1 rom are you using? Many of the CM10.1 roms already have the necessary files and tweaks for LTE to work. Try making calls without flashing the lte enabler. If that doesn't work you can try editing the file for the tmobile sound fix manually. Here's the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2233319
Hello,
how to install CM11 from 9500 to my 9502 (same hardware, only diff=2 SIMs)
Install zip skips with: this is for 9500, you have a 9502.
Is there any way?

Hello, you only need to open the file updater-script (in ROM's ZIP under META-INF/com/google/android) and delete any line like the followings:
Code:
assert.getprop
getprop
abort: "This package is for"
And just leave the mount as first line, then save the file and flash ZIP.
I'm not sure that i9502 shares the same radio IC of i9500, but one thing for sure: you can use only SIM 1

The fact is that for multiSIM support the kernel (device-specific) needs additional drivers and Android needs additional libs built for that drivers, Android framework needs also to be compiled with multiSIM stuff to support a secondary SIM

sorry to revive this post..but is it possible to combine files from a i9502 rom with a CM rom to make it work?
Can't we just flash the I9502 modem(s) and kernel and then flash the I9500 CM11/12 rom and it will detect the dual sim capability?

Which marshmallow roms for the sprint version work with gsm networks ? was using the optimized cm12.1 by jdc team after editing the updater scripts file so that it installs the gsm files instead of cdma. However the same trick doesn't work for MM roms including AOSP 6.0.1, CM13 , CM13 optimized jdc team, and also the nougat rom.
Any one successfully using these roms with gsm networks ?

Hi,
I'm also looking for such a ROM. I recently bought a Sprint S4 which was made to look like an i9500 in the about phone section. All marshmallow ROMs I've tried installing onto the phone present network problems telling me invalid simcard, out of service and so forth. I'm stuck with this i9500/L720 stock Samsung ROM. Please anyone, help!

Yay! Finally got it to work. Thanks. I didn't find the line for editting the network mode in the custom ROM I installed (optimizedCM13 by JDCTeam) but I added it none the less. Got the app "Advanced System Status" , turned the radio off and entered the GSM auto mode. Everything works well now.
Update: Actually, no additional lines were needed. Removed them and just used the "Advanced System Status" app.
I have to configure it again each time I reboot though.

Nope, as long as you don't flash using odin (Unless you're using it to flash TWRP.), you won't lose the unlock.

I have a g900v running LOS 14.1.1 and the only issue I've noticed is that I cannot receive GIFs and pictures via MMS are scaled down pretty bad. I've tried all of the APN recommendations with no luck. However using Textra w/legacy mode does work.
If you install, I'd be curious to know if you have the same problem. Otherwise it's been extremely stable.

I don't get the idea. Would it be possible for me to use different NFC tags on my phone to have NFC working as well? NFC is the only non-working feature on 14.1 that really annoys me and I have been trying unsuccessfully to find a fix.
Thanks

We (LOS developers) recently found that nfc is broken in all msm8974 phones, no matter the vendor.
It was working a bit ago, but it seems that someone broke it again with possibly the Jan merge.
