Hi guys,
Galaxy S4 I9505, rooted.
was playing around with wanam xposed. did a reboot. then the trouble began.
I can boot into safe mode, then the phone works completely (including volume keys).
but after a normal reboot the phone goes to the 'warning custom os' screen. on that screen vol up or down doesn't respond.
so I cannot boot into recovery OR download mode, so i am kind of stuck.
any suggestions?

Hey guys, I'm coming from the m919 forum, but maybe you guys could help a brother from another mother(phone? lol) out...
My s4 has been acting very weird lately. The button combo (vol up+home+power) doesn't work for me. If i try it, it goes straight to download mode. I get no gs4 splash screen at all. Only way to boot into recovery is through goo manager. BUTTON COMBO DOES NOT WORK!
If I restart the phone through the power menu it only boots into download mode. If I turn off the phone through the power menu, it will turn off for a second, and then boot into download Mode as long as the battery is in. I press no buttons. Only way it reboots "regularly" is when I get into recovery through goo manager and selecting reboot system.
Only other way to boot the system is doing button combo for download mode and hitting cancel when the screen comes up.
I was advised to Odin back to stock, which I did. Problem is still there.
The phone did turn off and stay off for about an hour, then the download mode thing came back. This is driving me crazy.
Has ANYONE run into this problem? It can't be just me, my luck can't be that bad.
If it matters, I'm running rooted stock 4.2(MDL) with twrp v2.6.3.1 installed
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
I updated TWRP to 3.1.1.2 inside TWRP. The issue I encounter now is that my S8 stucks on the very first booting screen. You know the very first screen where it stated "Samsung Galaxy S8" and down below "powered by android".
I can't do anything. It's just like the phone has frozen at that state. Nothing works anymore. Even If I try to turn it off by pressing Volume down + Bixby + power button, it just restart and get stucks at the boot screen again and again. There's NO boot loop.
I'm on europe version of the Galaxy S8
stock rom and rooted (Magisk)
Got TWRP installed but after updating TWRP the phone freeze at the very first booting screen.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks for your efforts!
First of all - make sure you have the correct TWRP for your device. I know for myself that by searching google I got the S8+ twrp at first and flashed it by mistake without noticing.
Then try this-
Connect your device to a power socket (pc or wall, doesn't matter)
When you are on the very first screen, turn off the device by pressing Power + Volume down. Your device will shut down and you will see the charging animation.
Once you see it, disconnect the device from the USB and try one of the following:
Power + Volume up + Bixby for recovery mode
or
Power +Volume down + Bixby for download mode
I think the download mode will work, then just flash a stock rom or the correct recovery and try again
I failed right at the second step. Once I connect my S8 to power socket and tried to turn of the device by pressing Volume down + Power, the device turnt off for about 2 seconds and then reboot again to the very first screen. Even if my S8 is on power socket, I do not see the charging animation. So that is why I cannot continue with step 3.
Any Ideas buddy?
EDIT:
I got it enter the download mode
I downloaded the TWRP img from here https://eu.dl.twrp.me/dreamlte/
After enter the download mode, I flash TWRP via odin. It passed via Odin but my S8 doesn't enter TWRP but instead stuck at the very first boot screen.
Any ideas, buddy?
EDIT:
I've solved it myself. Thanks for your efforts!
I got the exact same problem but how did u do it please help me
Hi I just got the exact same problem as you but I cannot get how I would fix it please help???
Edit: I got it to download mode but I do nut understand how I would flash it
The only way around this I found was to Odin back to stock https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8+/development/rom-galaxy-s8-t3749444
Then follow the instructions to reinstall twrp using odin https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...-s8-exynos-t3847712/post77735501#post77735501
Hi Guys!
I'm new to XDA developers, but I've been following this forum for many years.
I would like to resurrect my old phone, a Samsung Galaxy S4 Value Edition (GT-I9515), witch is most likely bricked.
About one year ago, the device started to randomly reboot, until it no longer powered on (It was NOT rooted or modded).
Recovery also did not work, so I decided to flash the stock firmware with Odin. The flash failed, so i decided to follow a (really stupid ) guide that said that to solve it was necessary to flash a PIT file of the Samsung GT-I9505, so I tried it.
Since then, I'm not able to boot the phone anymore.
What can I do with the phone now? What have I tried? I'll try to be as clear as possible:
Recovery mode:
I can boot into recovery only by pressing VOL UP + POWER with phone connected to charger, and then inserting battery keeping pressed the buttons, but when I try to boot into Recovery Mode, 3 different things can happen:
It does not power on
It vibrates, then reboot and freeze in Samsung GT-I9515 logo
It vibrates randomly and then open successfully the stock recovery
Download mode:
I can boot into download only by pressing VOL DOWN + POWER with phone connected to charger, and then inserting battery keeping pressed the buttons, but when I try to boot into Download Mode, it seems that the screen freeze at a certain point while loading the recovery mode warning (this warning loads slowly, like a slide from top to bottom). The device rarely fully load the warning, and when it does, when I press the VOL UP key to confirm entering download mode (sometimes it does not respond to VOL UP click for confirmation and i must reboot) Odin is able to find the device but during a flash the Odin log stop at Setup Connection, so the device is not responding.
Normal boot:
Yesterday, after hundreds of attempts, I was able to start the phone normally (I don't know how) , it asked for the initial configuration and language, but when I turned it off, the problem reappeared and I was not able to boot it normally. In most cases, the device freezes in Samsung GT-I9515 logo, it continues to restart or simply does not vibrate or power on.
When charging, I don't see anything such as the charging battery icon or the LED.
I realize that I was wrong to flash that PIT file, but is there anything I can do to make this device work properly?
Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Noone?
Hi guys,
My friend has a grand prime 530FZ and it boots into safe mode by itself. Soft and hard reboot dont have any effects.
After many tests, i saw that the volume down button was broken so i think it is constantly being pressed while booting, thats why it boots into safe mode.
Now i would like to know how can i disable these volume buttons or how can i manage to get normal boot without changing the motherboard.
Otherwise the phone works well, i can access to download mode but not into recovery because of this constant volume down during boot.
Thanks for your help guys
Hello! Here is my story:
I had a rooted stock os where i just changed the boot anim and everything was fine. I rebooted my device yesterday , the boot anim was fine etc. until today. When i rebooted my phone today , it booted into download mode with no reason. I didnt do any crap on it and it was fine until today. When i was in download mode i remembered i had a custom rom on my sd card so i wanted to flash twrp. I flashed it without factory reset and it didnt work. Now im stuck in a boot loop and i tried entering recovery but doesnt work.
Ok so i saw you can enter download mode with some key combo but u need the home button which this phone doesnt have (on screen controls).
Is there a way i can go in download mode and flash stock firmware with odin or unbrick the phone?
Enter Download Mode : Turn Power Off. Press and hold Volume Up key + Power Key, When Samsung Logo appears release Power Key only, keep pressing Volume Up key until Android Recovery Mode Appears.
I managed to find this method a long time ago so its fixed. Thanks for responding doe.
