This Model is even Older than the Galaxy S SHW M110S but still in the market in third world countries .
The Flashing Procedure for this Korean Galaxy A is similar to the Korean Galaxy S But this model has limited ROM's and Rooting Kernels as it was not that popular once the Galaxy S was revealed three months later.

General advice prior to Flashing any phone
Its always best to do a "clean" install. meaning you should remove any old scripts, data, cache, junk before flashing a new ROM, this is like taking a bath before using new clothes. For some models it is a must do, for others it may not be a major problem or can be resolved by flashing the dbdata.rfs to clear out the remaining junk that you failed to remove before flashing . But if you had "lagfix" and did not undo it, it can cause internal SD card unavailable situation, which can be difficult to resolve.
Hence before flashing its advisable to
a) undo lagfix, IF you had any.
b) Do a factory reset by settings>Privacy> factory reset ( erase SD Card - optional , as formatting SD card could be too)
c) And even going into recovery to wipe everything is also good.
d) Removing SIM Card and External SD card ( makes it easier for phone to boot up initially after flashing a new ROM)
Doing this will give you a "Clean" install or fresh start for your phone.
Make sure your Battery Charge is more than 50%, Samsung requires you to have 100% charge when using KIES to upgrade.
Reminder, What you do with your Phone is your own responsibility, so do it at your own risk
Flashing Procedure
1). You need to Factory Reset Phone first go to settings >Privacy> factory reset also can be done in recovery
2) Power Down and Enter Recovery Mode and wipe data and wipe cache
3) Power down and remove battery, Then reinsert the battery and Enter Download Mode
4) Fireup Odin3 ver 1.32 on PC and Connect phone with USB cable to PC
5) Now select the ROM you had downloaded in Odin under PDA ( do not tick or press anything else ) and DON'T Interrupt flashing unless stuck for some time
6) Press Start Button on Odin3 and wait till is completed
7) Once phone has booted up and everything is working, power down and enter Recovery Mode, here you "factory Reset" phone one more time
That's it Now you will be using the new ROM you just flashed.
Any problem, just check My Android Solution's for relevant solution

Thanks
I am very thankful that i found this thread! At last! i am able to find roms for my phone. The sad part is, this phone was given to me, and i didn't know what they did because i found out that my Storage settings states Unavailable, and Available storage 0.00b. I tried flashing it with the stock rom you provided but an error that says like "the file is to large than tha target partition" something like that. Could please kindly direct me what to do? please! I would be very very thankful!

You need to strictly follow the flashing guide , remove eveything including SIM card and Ext SD card, and format Internal SD card ( If possible) in the phone. After that following the guide flash the DB 19 Stock ROM, to see, if you can recover from the corrupt partitions problem.

Sir, i did follow the flashing guide, but flashing the stock rom still say the same error: The file is too large than the target partition. BTW, there is no sd card in the phone while flashing. But still the same, stock rom say the same error, the other rom (custom?) succeed but still the same problem. Thank you!
Edit:
I think formatting the internal storage is impossible as there is 0.00b available in the phone storage status also the Format Storage cannot be clicked. Thanks!

The thing is , you need a PIT FILE to repartition, unfortunately, I cannot locate one, so you need to search for it. also I do not have this phone, for me to try extracting a PIT File or help you with other methods.
Alternatively, you can try to switch SD Cards, and that needs a modified CWM kernel as ell as an Ext SD card partitioned into two partitions.

Sorry mate, This Phone was only sold in Korea and only a few countries. Few month later, Galaxy S came out and died. I remember many many developers back in Korea cooking ROMs but in about 2011, all the development completely stopped and the Galaxy A community closed. Gingerbread and Froyo ROMs are all we've got.
Thank you very much for the ROM

Back up your files (optional)
You must be rooted for this step. If you are already on a custom ROM you are probably already rooted. If you are on Eclair (2.1) follow step number 2 and then continue here.
1. Download Titanium Backup from the android market (scan the QR code below) and open it.

2. Unplug your phone from your computer if it is plugged in and go to the Backup/Restore tab of Titanium Backup.
3. Press the menu button and then batch. press the button that says RUN next to Back up all user apps + system data. This will take a while, but let it run.
4. When it is done, plug your phone into your computer and mount your phone. Copy the folder Titanium Backup from the root of your phone and save it somewhere. Continue on with this guide.

TIP: Even once your phone is flashed it is a good idea to do backups. You can do them in the same way as this guide.
Downloads

ClockWorkMod recovery http://www.mediafire.com/?ve234hbg64ctcu0 (do not unzip)
)
NOTE: This guide only works on Windows. If you have a Mac or Linux, download the files and put them on a flash drive and use someone else's computer. It should only take at most 15 minutes.

TIP: If you have a spare flash drive, keep all these programs on it along with any ROMs you may wish to flash. That way, it will only take a matter of minutes to flash your phone.
step 1: Restore to stock firmware.
If you are currently on eclair (2.1) with the stock firmware you can skip this step. Otherwise, follow the steps below.
1. Install the drivers if you do not already have them. When they are done installing restart your computer. You can find these drivers in the drivers folder of your downloaded folder (Install either the 32bit or 64bit version).
2. Go to the downloaded folder and open ODIN.exe
3. Get into download mode by using one of the three methods shown below. There is a known bug that some people are not able to get into download mode. If the three button thing does not work, try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=818439
Method 1: Key Combination 1 (recommended)
1. Remove your battery, external SD card and SIM card
2. Reinsert battery and battery cover.
3. Hold down both volume buttons and while holding them down plug the phone in.
Method 2: Key Combination 2 (if method 1 doesn't work)
1. Remove your battery, external SD card and SIM card
2. Reinsert battery and battery cover.
3. Hold down both volume buttons and the power button.
Method 3: ADB (for advanced users.)
1. Download the android SDK from http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html (NOT THE .EXE VERSION)
2. Drag it into the ROOT (top-most directory) of your hard drive.
3. Open the Command Prompt and navigate to the tools folder in the android SDK.
4. type adb shell then press enter
5. type adb reboot download then press enter

4. Open odin and plug in your phone. Wait 30 seconds or so for your phone to register (when it does one of those strange squares at the top will fill in with seemingly meaningless numbers and letters).
5. Press start and wait until it is finished. Do not unplug for any reason.
4. When it is done you should have a freshly installed stock firmware on 2.1 eclair. Continue to step 2.

step 2: Root the phone.
If you are already rooted skip this step. Note that rooting BEFORE using ODIN does not mean you are still rooted.
1. To begin, mount your phone by plugging it in to the computer (you must have the drivers installed in step 1.1)
2. Go to the root file in the downloaded folder. It is called root.zip. Drag it onto your phone's root directory.
3. Rename the root file to update.zip and then turn your phone off.
4. Unplug your phone and hold down both volume buttons and the power button until a strange menu with blue items pops up. This is called the recovery menu.
5. Use the volume keys to scroll to 'reinstall packages' and press the power button to select. When it is done you will be rooted and then you can just scroll to the restart phone menu item.

step 3: Getting the ROM.
Go to xda and find the rom of your choice. Download it (it will be a .ZIP file) and drag it onto the root (the directory that mounts) of your phone. Do not unzip it. Continue to step 4.

TIP: You can find many ROMs in the Android Development section. Some are better than others. Read the comments to see which one you want to use.
step 4: Install clockwork recovery.
1. Go to the download folder and rename clockworkrecovery.zip to update.zip. Mount your phone and drag the update.zip file into the root directory. It is ok to overwrite the update.zip you used before. When it is done copying turn off your phone.
2. Unplug your phone and hold down both volume buttons and the power button until a strange menu with blue items pops up. This is called the recovery menu.
3. Scroll using the volume buttons to the menu item titled "reinstall packages" and press the power button to select.
4. Your phone should restart and you should be at a green menu. Continue to step 5.

step 5: Install rom.
1. From the clockwork recovery use the volume keys to scroll to "install zip from sd card" and use the power button to select
2. Scroll to "choose zip from sd card" and use the power button to enter
3. Choose your rom and select it. Confirm that you want to install it and then give it time to install. Follow any other instructions they give you and then navigate back through the menus to restart the phone. Congrats you have your newly flashed rom.

Restore your files (optional)
1. Download Titanium Backup from the android market (scan the QR code below) and open it.
2. Plug your phone into your computer and mount it. Drag the Titanium Backup folder you saved earlier onto the root of your phone. While technically it should still be there from before, I included this step just to be safe if anything went wrong. Unplug your phone when complete
3. Open Titanium Backup and click on the Backup/Restore tab. Press the menu button and then batch. press the button that says RUN next to Restore missing apps (select the one that includes data). This will take a while, but let it run. It will ask for you to confirm the install of each application.
4. When it is done all your files should be there.

FAQs
I have a Mac or Linux computer what do I do?
If you have never flashed a ROM or Kernel before and are still on the stock firmware you can continue with this guide and just not install drivers or use ODIN. You MUST however have USB debugging on.
My computer does not recognize my phone
Try reinstalling the drivers and make sure you restart after that. Also, try turning on USB debugging. If it continues to not work, it may be a problem with the cable you are using.
What is the best ROM?
This is of personal choice. While some ROMs are more stable then others, the top ROMs are generally the best. Read recent posts about each ROM to see some of the issues/comments about it and then make an informed decision.
How do I know if I am on stock firmware?
Stock firmware means the phone (in its software state) is exactly as it was when it came out of the box. While you can be rooted, you can not be on a custom ROM, custom Kernel, custom Modem, etc.
Do I have to use ODIN every time?
Not always, but if you over-flash other ROMs bad things can and will happen. Here is the rule of thumb: if it does not specifically say anything about being able to not use ODIN in the original thread for the ROM you MUST you ODIN.
I can't get into download mode what do I do?
This is a common error, try a different method to get into it.

The 3e Security Error: If you are current running Froyo when you boot into recovery you now have 3e security which does not allow unsigned zips to be flashed. This is a problem because it will not allow for clockwork mod to be flashed as the update.zip. There are two ways to fix this.
First: Use Odin One Click to flash back to 2.1 and flash the clockwork mod zip from there. Continue on flashing the rom after that. 2.1 Eclair has 2e Security.

You need to configure the APN settings. Google the specific settings for your carrier.
Good guide. I'd like to mention that instead of steps 2-4, what someone can do is just put update.zip (that is clockwork recovery) in your sdcard, just boot into 2e recovery, and reinstall packages so that clockwork recovery gets installed. From CWM you can just flash a rom. No rooting needed as long as the rom you flash has root permissions (which is most roms). I found this to be less of a hassle.

This is true, but I wanted something that works for all ROMs. The only reason I had the ROM manager step is because it cuts down another step that someone could get confused on (flashing clockworkmod by hand)

Lol yea but people go Willy Nilly flashing away then when their phone fries they start asking how to restore their phones.
Folks should know how to use Odin, Tibu, and get into the different modes before they flash.

for Step 2. if this isnt your first time installing a rom and uve already rooted before, if you have the cwm recovery update.zip on your sdcard already you can just reboot to stock recovery skipping the root step and "reinstall packages" *you will have to do it twice* and you will be in cwm recovery and you can flash the rom zip file and enjoy your new rom without using the root step.
*also might work for first time rooting too not sure didnt do it that way *as the root method just pushes this update.zip to your sd and does the same thing
Is installing system data safe?
Will it over write files that it shouldn't?
Oh noes! We don't want to be loosing our data! Of course, losing it would be much worse...

What an excellent guide! It should save people new to flashing a ton of time. I had to pick pieces of information up here and there before my first flash and was pretty nervous about it, wish I could have found a guide like this before hand.
yes! ... is .zip sorry about that, but now there are separate files and now I downloaded again without problems.

Hi Everyone
my Galaxy S will not boot past the "Galaxy S" screen on startup. I have read several posts with the same problem and I have tried all suggestions that I have come across. Here is what I have tried so far:
Removed battery and sim card for several hours - no change
Went into recovery mode (volume up + power + home button). Received a "E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblkOp1 (No such file or directory)" and "E:copy_dbdata_media:Can't mount SDCARD: copy default media content failed." error messages.
In recovery mode, performed a "wipe data/factory reset" to restore the phone back to default - still no change
Do i need to send my phone back to Samsung or take it to a phone shop? or can it be sorted at home?
Brian
Did this just randomly start to occur? did you drop the phone? or did you try to flash another rom & thus got stuck on boot?
If not, have you tried going in to download mode? (volume down + power + home button)
Go into download mode and flash a new ROM including bootloader. You should also tick 'Re-Partition' in Odin and use a PIT-file.

When you go into download mode it means your phone is ready to flash new software, roms etc, it requires the use of a simple program called Odin (3.1 being the usual preferred choice), from there you install selected roms into it's interface, you then plug in your phone (in download mode) & you let it do it's thing, all being well you'll reboot & your Galaxy S will be born again, only bigger, better, stronger & faster
Let me encourage you into a simple set up to get your phone up & running before you do anything else, once done you can then spend more time reading a lot of stuff just like most of the rest of us has had to do, once you read you'll will be in a better position to decide whether to stick with what works or whether to change, the key is finding what you can & can't do, what works for you etc, trust me you'll get the hang of it & it's well worth it!
I'm assuming your phone is Galaxy S I9000? READ CLICK--> THIS <--CLICK GUIDE THOROUGHLY!
Also take a look at THIS for I9000 models
The idea is to flash your phone back to stock firmware using the correct tools & to then flash over it with seriously better software to show you just what it can & should look & behave like, it'll also hopefully stop you from ever connecting to Kies again.... READ, READ, READ
Also watch the youtube videos by Totallydubbed provided in the links, they will seriously help you out.
simply, Brian, I want to introduce this method for you.
Make yourself understood what is ODIN flash. Please try to search this forum or do a google search. I suggest you use the offical 2.3.4 JVP rom.
ODIN to flash the room.
1st of all, make sure your phone model definitely I9000, no T959 or others.
2nd, don't connect the KIES, and in the settings-->application-->(click this) USB debugging.
3. Download the relevant files for flashing rom. Sorry, I have no link 4 U yet, but I hope it can help.

You should also close all Kies-processes (the one in the taskbar right at the bottom (Win7) too.

As I said, You should watch the great videos by Totallydubbed in those links to get familiar with a few things.
The button sequence for download mode is long press (volume down + power + home button) until that image appears, be careful not to press too hard on those keys m8, you're gonna need them, let us know how you get on.
Thanks mate, i have managed to get into the download mode, just need to sit and go through what i actually have to do now

Is Odin3_v1.3.exe any good have found one but not sure
All the others have far too many links for me to understand lol

to be honest, if kies crashed your phone, and you aren't very tech, take it back and while you are at it remind samsung what a piece is sh*t kies is! It happens all too often and its about time they sorted it, failing that you can try as a above posts, and use odin to flash brew firmware

I have downloaded Darky Resurrection 10.1 file i have used Bitzipper to extract it but when i open Odin 1.7 i can find the PIT file but not the PDA file?
Please help this is driving me mad lol
Brian
At first you have to flash a Gingerbread-firmware from Samsung (NO custom-ROM) containing Gingerbread-bootloader with Odin (flash with PIT-file and Re-Partition ticked) and then anither kernel that brings CWM to you and finally flash the custom-ROM with CWM.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
Brian,
It's easy to get confused with too much reading but the answer to your problem is already provided for you in the links however we'll try this.....
Flash Ficeto's Odin JVH base rom here it will root your phone & ready to go to Darky's
As provided
1. use Odin 3.1.3 to be 100% safe, make sure phone is not connected! then press pit file & track to the pit 512 & make sure repartition is ticked!
2. press PDA & track to the TAR file in the Ficeto folder, (do not unzip it!), assuming you've done this correctly you can put the phone into download mode
3. Once in download mode connect phone & wait 10-15 seconds before pressing start.
4. Assuming all of the above steps have went well the phone will be up & running & you can begin to set it up, accounts, wifi, settings etc, once you've done that check back here & let us know & we can then get you to the next step.
Please also say how strong/good your wifi, 3G, call & internet signals are too as you may need to flash through a few different modems to get back to the same quality you had before, then again you may not, however this is a minor step after so just get flashing the roms first.
If for any reason you cannot find Ficeto's PDA/TAR file in the folder it means you've downloaded the CWM version = (clockworkmod) instead, CWM is how you flash roms from an already up & running phone via the power button, so if this is the case just make sure you download the THIS ODIN VERSION from the link provided.
I didnt find any step-by-step tutorials about this on xda, which is kind of weird and because i have spare time and its 3:19am I decided to make this tutorial
EDIT: If you are coming from eclair, install a froyo ROM and make sure it has a bootloader. Remember, if you cancel an installation that changes your bootloader, or stop it in anyway, you may hardbrick your phone. MAKE SURE YOU DON'T CANCEL OR TRY TO PAUSE THE INSTALLATION, JUST LET IT FLASH SMOOTHLY. use a laptop if you can, just in case an unlucky power surge would stop the flashing process
EDIT2: Here is a good Tutorial video from xda user Tejas Ahobala (if you don't know what he is doing at the start, dont worry. He is doing a factory reset before flashing):
EDIT3: A word from one of the commenters:

Thanks a ton for this guide. I had rooted my phone a couple of months back but wasn't really able to figure out how to use ODIN to install a custom ROM all this while. A few pointers for others noobs...
1. The tip about some custom ROMs requiring a wipe data is important.
2. If you're already using CWM, use the 'shutdown' option and not the 'reboot' option when the phone reboots during the flashing process.

Here we go...
______________________________________________________________
Terms and words -->
Flashing ==> means installing a new ROM
ROM ==> is the operating system, any version of modded or un-modded android
Android ==> Google made operating system!!!
ODIN ==> Here, it means the program that you can use to flash ROMs on your phone (the phone im going to use here is samsung galaxy 3)
Soft brick ==> No, not the construction brick, this means you've got no working operating system or you have one but its damaged and you can't use it, so you cant see your homescreen, you only see a boot-loop when it wants to come up. You can view your recovery and boot loader (The download screen) when soft bricked, so you can easily fix this problem by re-flashing.
Hard brick ==> Similar to the construction brick, your phone with little hope of recovery without sending to the samsung base for repairs To avoid hard bricks, open the .TAR file which contains your ROM using winRAR, and check if it contains sbl.bin and boot.bin files or not. If it does contain, and you are nervous or this is your first time flashing etc, simply go and flash Kyrillos' ROM or Kyora ROM instead. (I'm not advertising, just stating a couple of ROMs that I know are safe) these ROMs can only soft brick your phone should the worse happen and there is no chance of hard brick
______________________________________________________________
Should this guide be followed carefully, nothing harmful can happen to your phone. Yet I wont take responsibility if something happens to your phone.
______________________________________________________________
**************************************
Remember to Backup your contacts and apps!
**************************************______________________________________________________________
Stuff to download:
1) ODIN and a .OPS file, found Here, Or alternatively here.
2) The ROM, depending on what ROM you want there are different versions available. check This thread, the kitchens/ stock ROM packs part for stock ROMs, or if you want to try a custom ROM, try any other. I personally use Kyrillos' ROM, or Hillbeast's KyoraROM. Marcellusbe is praised highly by all for giving us the Cyanogenmod.
______________________________________________________________
1) Extract 'Flash tools.rar'
2) open Odin multi-downloader. This is how it's meant to look like.

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
NOTE: Sometimes some random error message with a korean writing pops up. dont worry, it's nothing, just press OK every time you see it
3) Press the OPS button located in the 'Select OPS' section, as shown in the image below. NOTE THAT YOU SHOULD ONLY USE THIS OPS FILE IF YOU HAVE SAMSUNG GALAXY 3. YOU MAY ENCOUNTER SERIOUS PROBLEMS IF YOU USE THIS OPS FILE WITH A DIFFERENT PHONE. (works with i5800 and i5801 as far as I know.)
4) Browse for the 'apollo_0531.ops' that came in the rar file with odin and select it.
5) Tick the One Package option located on the left side of the application.
6) The ROM that you have downloaded should have a .tar extension. If its a .rar file, open it. If it has a .tar file inside it, extract it and use it, but if it has some weird ass stuff in it that only Jesus and Chuck Norris understand the meaning of, you need to use the 'free rar extraction frog' application to turn it into a .tar file. Download it for free from here.
7) The above step was just to confirm if you have the right file, so you dont get any errors. Now just select One Package button that is highlighted in the picture and browse and select the .tar file.
8) Make sure you have ticked everything that I have ticked. Use picture from part 5.
9) Go to your phone. go to Settings->Applications->Development and tick USB debugging if its not already ticked.
10) make sure you have the device drivers, just install Samsung KIES from HERE to make sure you do have the drivers. If the page doesn't show, just Google 'download samsung KIES'
11) turn the phone off, take the USB out, and press volume up, home button (the big fat button in between the menu and back buttons) and the power button together. hold them until you see the 'FORCE UPLOAD BY KEY PRESSING' screen. Now plug the USB back in.
12) Odin will immediately recognize your phone, and there will be a yellow label, like so:
13) Double check that you haven't missed anything.
14) Press start! HERE
15) You will see a blue download screen, saying please don't interrupt. PLEASE DON'T INTERUPT IT!!!!
16) The process will finish and system will reboot one or two times. go have some tea and come back 15 minutes later. You should have the Rom of your desire working on your phone.
NOTE: Some custom ROMs require you to wipe system data and then wipe cache. don't forget to do that! restart phone after wiping the data etc. If you've flashed a custom Rom and the device is showing a stupid triangle with an exclamation mark inside it, dont panic, press the menu button and you will see the menu (This menu is called the recovery menu).
EDIT4: How to flash kernels (on galaxy3/apollo/5800/5801)
METHOD 1==>
1--> you go to the kernel thread and download their kernel. it is to be a .tar file. (eg g3mod.tar)
2--> follow steps 3 to 5 from above tutorial
3--> put phone in download mode (step 11) and connect with usb
4--> in odin, select the 'select as one package file' option and browse for the kernel .TAR file. select it.
5--> check youve done everything. YOU SHOULD HAVE DONE EVERYTHING IN THE TUTORIAL EXCEPT THIS TIME INSTEAD OF USING A ROM YOU'RE USING A KERNEL!!
6--> There is no need for wipe unless otherwise stated by the developer.
7--> congratz man, you got yourself a new kernel!!
OPTIONAL 8--> download setcpu from xda (you can also download off market and pay for it for the donation)
its really usefull, it lets you control how much your phone uses the cpu and you can undervolt the cpu etc, you will find more info on the setcpu thread.
METHOD2==> (Only works for some kernels)
1--> go to the g3mod website and download the .zip version of the kernel. (there is a .tar and .zip)
2--> put the .zip in the root of your sd card
3--> go to recovery mode by either using kyrillos' rom (press & hold power
then choose reboot into recovery) or by turning the phone off and pressing volume up and down and the power button all together. select install .zip from sdcard and then select your .zip you downloaded before.
4--> it will install. no wipe needed unless the dev says so. reboot. HAVE FUN!!
HOW TO FLASH ROMS USING SYSTEM.IMG
1) Download system.img from safe source, preferably provided by dev, or any other trusted member who knows what they are doing.
2) Flash g3mod ROM.
3) Copy the system.img and paste into this path in your sdcard:
sdcard/android/data/g3mod/roms/**there are several folders here, just paste the system.img to the folder that suits the rom's name**
4) Boot into recovery.
5) Go to Multiboot.
6) Select desired ROM.
7) Done

the reason i made this was that when i first got my phone, it was february last year and the phone was running the eclair (so it sucked ) an i was being pushed by my friends that why i didnt have foryo and it took me literally something like 7 hours to find a 'followable' guide on flashing the xxjpa or something... anyway i thought having a really noob proof guide will be useful too ppl like me a year ago
nicely written
i was searching for tutorial like this 9 monhs ago and never found it with such detailed description

[Post 1] General Instructions
[Post 2] Installing Stock Rom 4.2.2
[Post 3] Rooting Your Device
[Post 4] Customize your ROM as per your wish
General Instructions
Introduction
Rooting your new purchased android device is leg shaking... Main reasons of rooting is to remove bloatwares, gain power of your own device with full potential, install root application and of course Custom Roms. Flashing with custom images will increase your flash bin counter and this breaks your warranty. So people avoid rooting but thanks to chainfire, reset of this counter is made easy as having nuts...
Before moving ahead let me explain what’s rooting...
Rooting your android device simply means you are enabling administrator rights for yourself!! To be more precise unrooted device restrict user and we use our phone as a guest account like in windows OS.
Warnings:
This ROOTING Steps are foolproof but Rooting means you are playing with systems, so please don't try if you don't know what you are doing...Hence it can brick your device (DEAD) and make it useless... So read the steps completely before proceeding..
Rooting is for your fun not for any legal issues viz, piracy.
Charge your phone well before proceeding.

So now your phone is having more RAM, more battery life and lag-free like other custom roms. zipaligned, deodex is for saving space in our device and for themes. As I observed, some people don't trust custom ROM and they want safety over theme and other Custom rom benefits. Yes that's good option, but is for self-customized ROM. Few of my friends Questioned me that they dont trust Customized ROMs. People who dont trust custom ROM can finally customize as per their need.
Nice thread, it will help beginners a lot.
But the link you gave that tells which apps can be removed is not very accurate, there are actually many other apps that can be removed safely.
I had made a post about it, but it was for 4.1.2.
Check it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39395506
It should be more or less the same for 4.2.2 but anyway, as soon as I get 4.2.2 I'll make a new post about safe to remove apps. For now I wait for a better version, cuz the current one seems to be full of bugs and many people are disappointed with it to the extent that they downgrade back to 4.1.2...
With all those apps removed when I start my phone I have like 160 mb RAM consumption, and now that I'm using it I just checked, I have 213 mb only...

How to upgrade from Gingerbread WF07 to a CM Based Kit Kat ROM on the SHW M110S using a Patch
Basic Considerations that will help you to restore your current ROM
First make a Backup of your current ROM, such that you can return to it, IF the Kit Kat ROM is not what you expected it to be. How?
a) When Using a tegrak Kernel on the M110S , you can get this done on the bootup screen , by entering it and making a system and also a dbdata/data backup of your phone, which can be restored by using the terak kernel again IF WF07 ROM is what suits you best.
Your backup will be placed in the Tegrak Folder in the Internal SD card...so save this to your PC or external SD card for safe keeping.
b) When using a Speedmod kernel, you need to enter recovery first to make a nandroid backup of your system and data
Your Backup will be placed in the ClockWorkMod Folder of your SD card. Which can be restored by using the speedMod kernel again IF WF07 ROM is what you desire.
c). You should also use SMS & Contacts Backup apps from play store as well as sync your contacts , calendar etc with Google using your Google account. You can use the same apps to restore them in your new ROM,
What you should know about this Kit Kat Patch on the M110S
a) It is basically using an i9000 CWM and Patching it for M110S, as such the CWM used will only be useful to install the Kit kat ROM, and its basic functions like making a nandroid backup, will not be working after patching, as the patch will change its build prop to M110S
b) mic used for recording as well as ringtone for incoming call, is not working after the patch is executed on any CM Based i9000 Kit Kat ROM
c) When charging, avoid using the Device as touch becomes erratic.
d) Actually you can use any Kit kat ROM but because once the patch is applied further flashing fails to boot the Phone, Gapps has to be prepacked with the ROM, So only [ROM][4.4.2][SHW M110S] Resurrection Remix® 4.4.2 KitKat v5.0.1 by @rodman01 is currently available by courtesy of Resurrection Remix Team.
So IF the above is acceptable to you, than you should use this Patch, as indeed Kit Kat will make your device perform much better.
The Kit Kat ROM's for Korean Galaxy S (SHW M110S) that have little to NO issues at the moment are
Common Issue in Kit Kat ROM's being having NO Ringtone only vibration and Mic for recording fails to function
[ROM][4.4.2][SHW M110S] Resurrection Remix® 4.4.2 KitKat v5.0.1 by @rodman01 has been prepacked with Gapps and tested for M110s & M190S
Warning!!! & Reminder
What you do with your Phone is your own responsibility, so do it at your own risk. Always ensure your Battery is fully Charged prior to flashing any phone Installation procedure for Kit Kat upgrade using Kit Kat Patch

Ensure you do not reboot the phone by "UNTICK" reboot in Odin3 such that it will not power ON after Flashing, in case it does power ON, just pull out Battery , press power button for 30 seconds and insert battery again

Fireup Odin3 on your PC, connect to Odin3 with USB cable,
select m110s-installation-recovery.tar under PDA and Flash it (with auto reboot ticked) and You Device must boot up into CWM 6.0.45 after this by itself ( so do not touch or press anything till it enters CWM 6.0.4.5 recovery).
6) In CWM Recovery version 6.0.4.5, You now choose the m110s-format-system.zip. you placed in your SD card by selecting "Install zip from sdcard" which will lead you to "choose zip from sdcard", which will take you to all the folders you have on your SD Card..scroll down to where you placed the downloaded files and select it
Once selected the zip will be Flashed on to your phone, so wait till it says "install completed"
7) Now select Resurrection Remix Kit Kat ROM in your SD card, as above and flash it and wait till it says "install completed"
8) Now Select the M110S_PatchTool.zip. as above and flash it till it says "install completed"
9) Now choose Reboot Phone and let your device reboot to enjoy the Kit Kat ROM.

I just opened a new thread where you can find screenshots and download links, as well as more information: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=50215702. And it should also work well with M190S, as M110S and M190S are pretty much the same.

Help!
i followed the procedure as it is, but been having several issues since yesterday.
i came from stock 2.37. WF07 with tegrak kernel and ext4 lagfix
these are all what i have encountered so far...
-sleep of death; managed to fix it though by formating the internal sd
-boot loop; it keeps on bootlooping to that android working with korean characters (this happens at times when i reboot the phone and there is no way to fix it, other than flashing back to stock and doing the whole conversion process over again)
-no imei; i have backed up my efs as per instructed. but i cant fix it by using the backed up efs
-no wifi; wifi is grayed out. this is something that at this time really bugs me out.
any advice or help will be appreciated as everyone who might experience the same problems will have a quick solutions for this issues.
thanks!
PS.
reason why i bought this phone is for its wolfson DAC that produces audiophile grade sound quality.
do all KK Roms support Voodoo Sound?
i tried flashing 4 KK roms already
SlimKat
SuperNexus
Omni ROM 4.4 Kit Kata
and the Resurrection Remix®

First thing about devices is that you should avoid lagfix, But if you did, you must undo it before flashing anything else, you could have serious problems when not undone. IF you did not format your SD card, the tegrak restore files would still be in your SD card, so flash the WF07 and tegrak kernel and undo lag fix.
follow this How to Flash and UNBRICK Samsung Anycall Galaxy S ( SHW M110S ) to flash and recover.

i could directly flash back to the stock 2.3.7 but i cant flash the tegrak kernel. it says error about dbdata. i tried to flash the pit files for 110s from this forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29331775&postcount=1 and the samsung logo has changed, to the one that seems like old samsung anycall logo with talk play and love. then the downloading icon became english when it was used and supposed to be korean. now i could no longer boot the phone with ANY available rom. even the stock ones.
what should i do.

I gave you the link to follow, but you chose to follow your own direction, so its pretty difficult for both of us. You see that link had directions and links to the repair kit with pit files and by using it, you can recover from most problems.
so use the repair kit, if you can get download mode
if not, try hard to get download mode, follow [Tutorial][A.I.O. Rescue & Recovery] My Android Solutions. [Help & Troubleshooting] without it, you may have to take it to service center to reslove.

Done, but need more help!
i followed the guide and everything went smooth..
successfully removed lagfix ext4, and managed to boot KK, and it was a very pleasing experience.
but, the main reason why i bought this phone is to use it as a portable music player ala- ipodTouch. there is no sound coming from the jack.
tried two roms, AOSP based SuperNexus and SlimKat, both didnt work.
reading the description, there should be no reason for this right? its says, MIC IS NOT WORKING, but is it built right into the head/earphone jack? the voodoo sound app, has this option of hi-fi RECORDING, so does that mean that the mic and the earphone jack are working as one piece of hardware?
can anyone explain or help?

Yes possibly so, the problem being we are technically using an i9000 ROM ( which does not have a DMB TV and also uses a x gold modem) all this are related components for sound to be channeled in the correct way. The M110S is using a qualcom modem and has a DMB TV & Radio hardware, for which we don't have the schematics or direction, how sound is directed (from mic, modem to speakers and headphone ) this has been the problem all along.
The other Galaxy S range of devices did not have this problem as the Google Nexus, is same as the i9000 range of phones , which made it easier to port from Google releases of Android.
BTW you should only used CM based ROM.s AOSP is not compatible with the patch so follow directions as given in the 1st post and use ROM recommended for it.

sorry, why you stop at step 7? M110S and M190S are same except for S hoppin feature implemented by SKT, so if you have a problem you can use the M110S repair kit or the M190S tutorial to get back to stock ROM again.
