I bought a x10 which was locked on orange. i unlocked it and debranded to a generic firmware. Every sim works in the phone except for o2 sims. I tried emailing them to see what the problem was and they are saying it's my phone. I've tried a few o2 sims same problem. Tried the sims in other phones and they've worked. It is something to do with the phone not registering on the network. Could this be due to me debranding in which case does anyone have access to orange firmware files. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Hi,
Look HERE
Here's a video on how to revert the settings so that the S4 accepts the unlock code. Look for How to Fix "Network Unlock Request Unsuccessful" on your Galaxy S4 on Youtube for a tutorial.
I'd post the links but since I'm a newbie I'm not allowed to post... the video ID is cY4LcdO2WAE
Hi All, i need a bit of help i tried to unlock my i9505 from 3 network and now i get "no sim card" i have tried 3 various sim cards which i know they are working in other phones.
I am sure i followed the instructions correct. in the service mode, Main Menu, item 4 SIM says Not Used. i think that is the problem.
Does anyone no how to reset it.
Cant go to UMTS menu
Hi
When I try this, when I input key 1, it doesn't go to UMTS menu. Any idea why? I have MF3 as baseband.

Transmitted telepathically from my S4
Hello all,
I'm newbie here.
I have a i9505 from Australia either Vodafone or. 3 network.
I'm using the phone in New Zealand and only Vodafone sim card can be use. I try to unlock the network but I can't get to the service mode of MAIN MENU with selection UMTS section. Is it because the modem different or something else? Also how do I find out what modem model I'm using?
Hope someone could help me out ASAP .
Thank you very much
Regards,
SGTTS

Hi everyone,
I have this problem too. I enter service mode with *#0011#, choose "back" from the soft menu and nothing happens.
Is there another way to safely unlock this phone?

Hi,
Your modem is probably too recent to allow this.
Have you asked your provider for an unlock code?

yeah well they said they could unlock it in the shop for £20 but really skint at moment and just trying to save a few quid if a shop can do it there must be a way
1. Downgrade the modem (at minimum) or ROM (at maximum) to Android 4.2.2 using Odin.
2. Root.
3. Install and run RegionLock Away.
4. Restore the original modem or ROM using Odin.
5. Insert your SIM.
If not immediately prompted to enter an unlock code, you were successful. Otherwise, you'll have to pony up cash for an unlock code.

thanks how do I downgrade the modem ?? also once rooted can it be put back to its normal state as my updates wont work now (thanks guys)
RegionLock Away is that in the apps store yes??
Look in S4 General for a thread with links to the modems. After getting your modem, look in the Towelroot thread on S4 General. Use the instructions there to downgrade the modem. If desired, use Towelroot to root. RegionLock Away is found on XDA. Search for it. Once done with the app, restore your original modem.

depends if u need your MSL
to root you 1st need to unlock the bootloader via htcdev.com
after unlocking bootloader, you need to flash TWRP from download mode
boot into TWRP to flash either Magisk (my preference) or SuperSU

HTC Bolt SIM-Unlock
I followed the steps from the instructions and was able to SIM-Unlock the phone.
Also, performed UICC unlock in Software Updates after I paid off the phone.
I tested it with a friend's T-Mobile SIM and worked flawlessly.
Also tested with another friend's AT&T SIM and again worked flawlessly.
I have since switched to Verizon and found out that it will not work on Verizon, so I decided to sell it.
Sold it on eBay and now the guy who purchased it says he is getting the following error :
"GSM/UMTS Mode not supported in the U.S. Only foreign SIM card usable in device. Your device will switch to CDMA mode now."
When I google this error, everything I find is for older HTC devices, and these posts are back from 2011.
Has anyone come across this, or do you think this guy is trying to pull a fast one on me?
Again, I know for a fact it is unlocked and will work on AT&T but he says it is still SIM-Locked, and says the MSL code I gave him is incorrect.
Pretty sure a phone cannot re-lock itself.. am I wrong?
