I thought it would be a smart idea to wipe all data on my Nexus 7 before selling it. Now it reboots to "Unfortunately, Setup Wizard has stopped." i have tried to wipe data/factory reset it in the recovery mode, but that did not work. does anyone know how to fix it?
Just wipe everything and return it to stock with Odin, or fastboot. If you're selling it and have anything you want transferred off it...wipe internal sd also.
Just make sure you read a guide and know what your doing.

Do you have a custom recovery or is your tab stock?
I know this is probably more work than you were wanting to do, but this is a good guide for flashing the stock image and returning your nexus 7 to stock, or recovering from a boo-boo.

Yes i have ClockworkMod Recovery. I'm not sure if i have USB debugging on, it does not say anything when I plug it in, and I am not able to activate it, since I'm locked out.

If you try to flash a new image I'm pretty sure USB debugging doesn't matter because you are in fastboot. Most likely you need to update your drivers and the SDK. The link above has a section on "driver hell" and solutions for it.
In ClockworkMod have you done all the wipes along with the factory reset? If so, I think you will have to reflash.

Please be more specific.
What tutorial did you use?
Did you download clockwork recovery?
Do you have the superuser zip?
If you can enable fast boot and fastboot flash recovery you should be able to mount your usb storage in CWM and then install a ROM and the su zip.
stuck on the nexus s boot screen

i used the one mentioned in addictive tips website (http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/how-to-root-nexus-s-with-a-single-click-using-superboot/). i basically followed what these guys had mentioned.
since this failed i read that the other option is to go through fastboot > recovery > and clear everything but this did not change anything.
can someone give me a step by step guideline on how to continue. i dont mind going back to the stock 2.3.4 android. i just bought the phone yesterday
Which version do you have? The sprint or t mobile? Check if you can go into fast boot hold down volume up and then powerbutton. If not you may have to Odin it if not. That super one click looks old..

If your ROM flashed incorrectly, it would lead to your phone being in a state where it just shows a GOOGLE with a Padlock; kind of like turning on a computer without an operating system.
You would have to read the instructions on rooting your phone, which involves using fastboot and flash recovery from fastboot (All this is in the rooting guide). Simply reflash the recovery so you boot up back in recovery and try flash the rom again.
The same happened to me, I fixed it buy flashing a stock boot.img

thanks for the replies. how do i flash from the fastboot mode? when i plug it in to my computer i cant see the drive but my computer can detect the nexus s is plugged in
Set up adb first, they have the guides in the dev section, I used wolverines guide, you'll have to look for the software img, I don't know where it is at for the GSM model. Good luck

Sounds like you're rooted and have recovery installed, but your OS is hosed.
Flash a ROM.
thanks for the replies guys. i have the adb setup on my laptop. i took it to one of the stores and he said he cant reflash it for some reason. he said he needs to get some software off samsung and it will take him a day. my phone is brand new and i didnt wanna trust him. do u guys think i should use odin? one of my friend has a galaxy s and he said odin should work fine on my phone.
Can you get into the ClockworkMod recovery menu? Turn the phone completely off then hold VolUp and Power until you get into Recovery.
If you get there, you're golden. Just download a ROM (I recommend Deck's) and away you go.
i can get into recovery but it gives me option like wipe everything and i selected that. but when i reboot the phone the same locked screen pops up. anyone from toronto here who i can contact?

Basically with those wipe commands you make the Rom unuseable. You have to flash a new one or apply it via Odin. There are various guides on this forum section. Odin requires less technical knowledge but is a bit more risky then flashing via recovery. Odin and the Roms for that method can be obtained from samfirmware.com. Zipped roms can be found in the development section here.

My Nexus 7 freezes and reboots whenever I attempt to enable USB debugging
Am running Android 4.2.2.
Have tried factory reset option (twice) but problems repeats.
Very annoying. Any thoughts?
Try reflashing a stock ROM into the system. Do a full wipe first.

Have you followed the sticky up top that says how to flashing a stock ROM/factory restore. Or similar verbiage. There are fastboot commands that will wipe everything and literally make it like the day it came out of the box. If still having an issue then odds are you have some sort of hardware issue.
Also don't try to restore or install any apps after the restore. Enable developer mode first then add away. Perhaps it's an app you're installing that's breaking things.

My nexus 7 has a serious bootloop problem.
i have been researching threads on fixing it and watched many a video and nothing seems to work.
when i boot up i will get google logo and nothing after that.
i have gone into the bootloader and gone into recovery mode and done a factory reset multiple times with no results.
connected to computer and run both NRT and nexus toolkit and tried multiple options.
flashing a new rom wont work because wont boot up and let me turn on usb debugging.
my last cahnce would be to try to get it replaced but it was a gift so do they fix those?
please help i think im going crazy!
What did you do to erase your ROM?
Your rom has been erased, as your device has no system to boot into. Your must have formatted your system. Just flash a rom and you should be fine. If needs be push the zip to your device through adb if you don't have a rom stored in your device, or if the current one is corrupted (which may be why it's not booting), and always check your md5.
All you need to do is flash the factory images through fastboot, or a custom ROM through recovery. There is nothing stopping you from taking either of those actions.
thankyou
i think the problem is actually my computer so i will try it on another one. thanks for the help this is all new to me

You can adb push files while in recovery. You need to choose the option in recovery first though.

First off, I'm an idiot.
Nexus 4, 4.3 with Cyanogenmod. Working great until I decided to download Franco Kernel. I installed the latest then the colors inverted. I googled it and found out that the latest update didn't work well with Cyanogenmod and that #188 was the last that did work. I.. like an idiot decided to download and install #188 on top of #192 or whatever it was. Phone goes into **** mode, couldn't do anything on my phone without a popup telling me that android had stopped working so I decide to try factory reset, I don't know what I did wrong this time but now my phone won't even get passed the Google sign on boot up.
Bootloader and recovery still works. I cant push factory zip file to my phone without being in adb mode. What can and should I do?
Cheers

If you can boot into recovery and/or the bootloader, half of your problem is solved. I'm not understanding exactly what is the problem. What I'm saying is, I fully understand what happens when you let the phone do its thing and it stayed on the Google logo, but what I'm NOT understanding is, you not being able to connect to the phone when it is in the bootloader.
Can you boot into the bootloader and connect to your computer?

You need to be in fastboot mode to push install a new rom. Press the vol+, vol-, and power.

Sounds like a driver issue. Try first uninstall present drivers, plug the phone back in and see if your computer will reinstall the drivers. Oh, before you do that, switch to mtp see what happens.

Yes I can boot into my bootloader and recovery, but not actual Android or whatever you would call it.. sorry.
Computer installed drivers automatically but I still can't see my phone under My Computer.
In CWRM what should be mounted/unmouted under "Mounts and Storage Menu"?

When I press mount USB storage nothing happens but the menu resetting, it doesn't change to unmount USB storage like the other options do either. I feel like this phone is a goner
I've tried to sideload factory 4.4 but it didn't work, I googled the error and people were saying that it doesn't work for rooted devices. I'd unroot though I'm just afraid that I would break something else.

Phone might not be recoverable, but why not download and install NRT by WugFresh? At this point, it couldn't hurt. I would uninstall the first one you were using.

would recommend making sure ur drivers are ok....also make sure u got adb on ur comp with fastboot. these 2 are the main things.
honestly skip other things n flash stock on ur own...just so u can be happy...u havent hard bricked the phone...its still working...
try to find universal naked drivers...smthng on that lines....n N4 is superb...its a Nexus...wont die soon
So I set up my phone with all my apps, and turned it off and now it won't boot up. Any idea on how to get it to work?
Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
When you say it won't boot, does it not turn on at all? Does it hang on boot? Bootloop?
Guessing you've checked the obvious like charging the battery, trying another plug, etc. The phone shipped with a USB type C charger with a C to C cable, as well as shorter USB A to USB C cable to use with a standard USB charger. I'd try both of them in different wall plugs and the USB A cable in multiple charging blocks.
Can you enter bootloader mode by holding POWER and VOLUME DOWN?
Sorry for not being detailed ?but yes it is stuck in a bootloop in the initial Google screen. It also let's me get into the bootloader by pressing power and vol down. I've tried the factory reset option and still the same thing.

Did you try going into recovery and wiping cache and dalvik cache?
I would suggest flashing factory images, but I am not sure if you will be able to unlock the bootloader if you didn't enable it in developer options. I have read that trying to unlock the bootloader might not work if you didn't enable the option before attempting. Might also cause issues, but if you're already unable to boot, I don't know that it would necessarily be worse.
Google will likely suggest flashing the factory image before an RMA could be initiated. Hopefully someone more experienced than me can confirm if you must enable OEM unlocking before attempting. Unlocking bootloader does wipe data, but this shouldn't be an issue if you already tried a factory reset.
If your bootloader is already unlocked and you modified anything, I would bet a factory image flash would fix it.

Follow step 9 to get your phone working again. That is if you are unlocked.
But don't relock your phone again, go back and read each step and follow it correctly.
Things that cause bootloops:
Not flashing the chainfire's modified boot.img
Using TWRP to install root when you exit it. If your phone is not rooted it will ask you to install root upon leaving TWRP and always say no. SuperSU and root are flashed with a file in TWRP, the file can be found linked in the tutorial I linked above.
