IMEI lost, Cyanogen don't show him - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, I've one problem with my Nexus 4, after one upgrade of nightly build of CyanogenMod, my phone don't retrieve IMEI of phone, *#06# is void and settings show void IMEI too...
I'd googled long time before come on here, and I searched here but I'd found nothing. My phone is rooted and bootloader unlocked.
Thx for help

Do you have a backup of your EFS folder?
If not, flash another baseband.
If yes, restore the EFS backup.

Thank you I thought efs was only for samsung mobile.
I will have a look for that...

That's forced download mode. First thing you need to do is flash a stock rom (preferably for your carrier) with Odin. Then, if you're lucky, you may get your IMEI back. If you don't & you don't have an EFS backup, it's either a service centre or local mobile repair shop job.

That was only for samsung galaxy s4 I9500 not for I9505.
I had this problem when I first got my s4 I flashed a ROM everything went fine I booted up and imei was null, so what worked for me was booting back into recovery and wipe everything and restored my backup and all was good again!!

No one that is smart will share their IMEI code with an other person. I would highly recommend that nobody should share their /efs backup.
A bundle of thanks dear, for nice suggestions and advice,
i hope , everyone will listen to you.

I hope they do, because nobody should share their efs.
If you don't have backup then you should get acces to a samsung box: http://z3x-team.com/
If that doesn't work then you have damaged hardware.

Restore\Change 0000 IMEI on SW-N900W8

How can i flash the correct IMEI back to my note 3?
I have a Note 3 (SM-N900W8), the canadian version. it has MJ4, rooted and buysbox installed.
I have tried http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2611903 and used the Qualcomm Tool but that didn't help. I still have a 000 IMEI.
Please help!
Did you make a Nandroid of your EFS?

First, did you make a Nandroid backup of your previous EFS and Modem partitions? If yes, simply restore from the same recovery you were using at the time. This often solves the problem.
However, if you do NOT have a Nandroid, then you are in for a potentially difficult solution. Worst case, your phone is permanently bricked.
I lost my IMEI on a device a couple of years ago (I think it was the HTC ONE), and was successful in getting it back, but only after a very complicated procedure. Would the same procedure work again today, on a different device? I don't know.
One thing to remember ... it is impossible to simply flash a file to recover your IMEI, as this is technically illegal, and every phone has a unique IMEI number.
If I were you, I would search on xda for IMEI recovery. I know there are many threads, but I don't know if there's anything specific to the Note 3.
Good luck,
Peter

Just don't flash the Fire script as all you'll end up doing is losing all data.
Have a read HERE, make sure you understand it all as you can hard brick if you're not careful. It takes a bit of ADB trickery however you can restore your IMEI/S/N and I have advised a couple of people to use this guide previously with success.
My Phone is working perfectly fine with no IMEI blacklist or bad ESF, I just would like to change my IMEI to that of Black Berry to enjoy Black Berry services from my Provider. I have Nandriod backuped should incase anything goes wrong. It is possible to change my IMEI .....?

Hi man. People keeps telling you to install new modem, kernel etc...but i think you have corrupted EFS folder.
I hope you backup your EFS folder before flashing ANY rom because, otherwise you will have to go to some repair shop.
Well, I don't understand a lot, but I think you could check if you didn't lost your IMEI. Go on Settings > About Device > Status and check if your IMEI still there.
If it is, I don't know what could be. You could try flash another modem or restore a backup (if you have one) with PhilZ Touch but if it isn't, that means you lost your IMEI. I remember I read about that somewhere, that there is a risk of losing IMEI when you flash a lot of ROMs.
If you have backup from your IMEI, just restore it. If you don't, I don't know what you could do, but I guess you could still do something.
One more thing: Wi-Fi works?
Like I said, I don't understand a lot, so everything I just said may be very stupid. Or not. Sorry for bad english.

IMEI Backup

Looking for something to backup my IMEI on my i9505 (SPH-L720T, Sprint version).
I tried one tool that was supposed to work with the i9505 (this one), but it came up with a compatibility error. Any thoughts?
Hi,
EFS Professional should work for IMEI/EFS backup.

Thanks but I'm looking for something that's free.
Don't judge from it's name. It's a completely free tool :silly:

By flashing custom ROM does IMEI will change to factory as well?

I have galaxy S5 wich I bought from ebay as it turned out it was blacklisted. So I had it unlocked. This unlocking changed phones original IMEI to different one. Because of that I can't update software to newer one. Question is by flashing custom ROM does IMEI gonna change to factory one?
A custom ROM won't change your IMEI back to stock. Are you sure your IMEI changed through unlock? Because any type of unlock I know doesn't change the IMEI. The Software Update is blocked because of a possible bootloader unlock, which sets your device flag to 'modified', which prevents system updates

Thank you for your answer.
I brought phone to a place where they provide phone unlocking. They gave me receipt with phones IMEI and I had it written down for my own reasons before. When I got back the phone it worked like it should so they unlocked it. When I checked IMEI it was different than before. But underneath battery and on rest of labels IMEI was the same old one.

Looks like they installed a backup from another phone, which contained the IMEI of the other phone.
As I said above, Cudtom Rom won't change your IMEI back to stock. But Custom Rom won't abort the Update, if the phone was modified
