How can i flash the correct IMEI back to my note 3?
I have a Note 3 (SM-N900W8), the canadian version. it has MJ4, rooted and buysbox installed.
I have tried http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2611903 and used the Qualcomm Tool but that didn't help. I still have a 000 IMEI.
Please help!
Did you make a Nandroid of your EFS?

First, did you make a Nandroid backup of your previous EFS and Modem partitions? If yes, simply restore from the same recovery you were using at the time. This often solves the problem.
However, if you do NOT have a Nandroid, then you are in for a potentially difficult solution. Worst case, your phone is permanently bricked.
I lost my IMEI on a device a couple of years ago (I think it was the HTC ONE), and was successful in getting it back, but only after a very complicated procedure. Would the same procedure work again today, on a different device? I don't know.
One thing to remember ... it is impossible to simply flash a file to recover your IMEI, as this is technically illegal, and every phone has a unique IMEI number.
If I were you, I would search on xda for IMEI recovery. I know there are many threads, but I don't know if there's anything specific to the Note 3.
Good luck,
Peter

Just don't flash the Fire script as all you'll end up doing is losing all data.
Have a read HERE, make sure you understand it all as you can hard brick if you're not careful. It takes a bit of ADB trickery however you can restore your IMEI/S/N and I have advised a couple of people to use this guide previously with success.
My Phone is working perfectly fine with no IMEI blacklist or bad ESF, I just would like to change my IMEI to that of Black Berry to enjoy Black Berry services from my Provider. I have Nandriod backuped should incase anything goes wrong. It is possible to change my IMEI .....?

On a lighter note --
Steal someone's efs backup, flash it, generate/get a valid IMEI from one of those sources who were doing good business during the "Chinese Phone" fiasco in India and force feed that IMEI

should i use the efs which is of only g3 one's or can i use any android one's???
Srinivas buddy - i would like you to note that i am no techno whiz and therefore my comments on this problem may also be taken with a pinch of salt. If i had to hazard a guess, i would surely try a efs backup from G3 rather than any other phone. The problem which will arise after you have flashed the efs & its succesfully working, is that there will be potential conflict of the IMEI in case both phones are active. Therefore, it is imperative to change the IMEI at once - and people do say that getting a valid IMEI is possible
To repeat myself - i am in no way responsible for any damage which may result from the above and hope that the DEVs have a better solution than my wild-ass theory

ok...but im a little bit confused...can u clearly explain me...sorry for that
What i mean is that when you "borrow" the efs backup from another phone and flash it to yours - then both the phones will have same IMEI since both carry the same efs information. This may cause problems when both the phones are active on the cellular network and i believe it may also be illegal. Therefore, it is important that you should get a new IMEI number as soon as possible.
Please remember that this is all guesswork and not recommended. However, if you dont care about possibly bricking your phone then atleast choose a efs backup from a phone which is exactly the same model as yours & running the same build / firmware + consult the DEVs before this

i don't know wheather it will work or not, but just try this,
copy and paste efs folder of some other galaxy 3 to system folder using root explorer and edit .imei file with text editor and type your imei which will be there in bill or it will be on box and save it.

Check the above link and get yourself a valid/genuine IMEI number instead of getting into trouble!
if everything else fails, flash the official eclair and update it to froyo via kies. then take it to a samsung centre and say you lost your imei during official update through kies. they ought to fix it

I think its pretty much worth a try, to be completely on the safe side u could just flash a firmware with bootloader, when Odin is at bootloader flashing pull the USB cable and the battery, your phone will be a brick then. Just go to service center and tell them that it didn't turn on after a firmware update with kiss.

That's forced download mode. First thing you need to do is flash a stock rom (preferably for your carrier) with Odin. Then, if you're lucky, you may get your IMEI back. If you don't & you don't have an EFS backup, it's either a service centre or local mobile repair shop job.

If you don't have backup then you should get acces to a samsung box: http://z3x-team.com/
If that doesn't work then you have damaged hardware.

Hi man. People keeps telling you to install new modem, kernel etc...but i think you have corrupted EFS folder.
I hope you backup your EFS folder before flashing ANY rom because, otherwise you will have to go to some repair shop.
Well, I don't understand a lot, but I think you could check if you didn't lost your IMEI. Go on Settings > About Device > Status and check if your IMEI still there.
If it is, I don't know what could be. You could try flash another modem or restore a backup (if you have one) with PhilZ Touch but if it isn't, that means you lost your IMEI. I remember I read about that somewhere, that there is a risk of losing IMEI when you flash a lot of ROMs.
If you have backup from your IMEI, just restore it. If you don't, I don't know what you could do, but I guess you could still do something.
One more thing: Wi-Fi works?
Like I said, I don't understand a lot, so everything I just said may be very stupid. Or not. Sorry for bad english.

Hey rumbo76 hru, this same problem happened with my brother with note 3, but in here india, he did tha root and falsh tha rom, then he lost root, then he goes bak to stoke firmware so he lost hus signal, and IMEI shows UNKNOWN no network registered, but he search his original firmware n falsh, and he got network n imei number bak, so plzz read n search ur specific device model number n flash, you will be succeed sure.. Thank you
From what I gather if you have no backup it's either very hard or impossible to fix it, you should always make backups of everything tho.
Was it a Samsung update or have you rooted/custom rom.?
I could be wrong on this (let's hope so)
no you can't , you need to read certificate from other Note 4 to upload it to you phone and i as know there is no software can do that , only Z3x or octoplus
Was a custom rom the fact is i have 2 n910f white and black to the white one i did a backup of efs but forgot on black one and now is like a tablet no GSM
Here is what it says
Have you tried kies emergency firmware restore?

As I said, not sure where or how but it changed it. I only realised it when I was selling it. This guy buying it checked the imei from the dialpad. And it didn't match the box or the back of the phone.
I installed BTU Lollipop for him before selling.
It was N910F European one.

Yes, I definitely will not be doing it. No worries. Disregard anything I said before, this is simply research for an emulator and android app I am developing.
Qualcomm devices are prone to getting the IMEI corrupted, my Qualcomm Note 3 kicked the bucket that way after some custom ROM experiments. Exynos variants are much less susceptible to this, so I grabbed a N910C this time 'round
For those curious: Qualcomm NV tools can save your device's IMEI and CERT - these absolutely _must_ be paired to access a mobile network. You can backup and restore IMEIs this way, note that installing another device's IMEI and CERT pair is highly illegal.
Even Samsung repair shops don't transfer your old IMEI when swapping motherboards (because doing so would be a violation of the GSM spec) - they give you a new sticker!

Well, by that logic, as long as you have the imei sticker, put it in your phone in place of your old sticker, and change to that number, you will be fine.
If only there was a tool to do this. Can't seem to find any. Oh well. : (
