Why won't it? The original files (at least the boot animation) is still there. If the kernel detects a custom 'bootanimation.zip' then it uses that. If not, it uses default.

Its not a zip file like a custom animation .
Part of the OS drop bootfile animation in and that is read remove it and reverts to stock as first file read .

im running Cognition (latest) and there is no bootanamation.zip
i have modificate blurphone.apk ( just a png file) and after this steps (Link) I have no network and fc.
Somebody can help me? I have read a lot of things about how to sign and modificate apps but nothing yet about Motorola blur system apps.
Thx
If you are modifying simple png picture then you can do it without decompiling and compiling, just extract with 7zip and modify them and install it back via flashable zip.
Did you tried to put the apk without signing ?

Try with xplore file manager.
Just replace your files with it. No need to unzip and zip. Xplore will do it automatically.

Deodex your rom
Copy SystemUI.apk to your pc
Rename to SystemUI.zip
extract contents to a folder
goto res/drawable-ldpi
Replace any image except images ending In .9
Make sure file names remain the same
rezip all the files
change name of zip to SystemUI.apk (note you will have to enable file extensions in folder options in control panel to change zip to apk)
put in a flashable zip and flash with system mounted
note this method is only for changing png images
to edit any other files like xml you must decompile with apktool
Okay....can u tell me how to deodex our rom...
sorry to give u trouble... but m a noob here...

There is a guide in the general section about deodexing stock roms.Just use the search button.
Use kitchen
flash fresh stock rom and root
install terminal
use terminal to pull all system files into a tar file
load tar file into a working folder in kitchen
use kitchen to deodex - change api to level 10 first
build the rom and flash it
There are other methods but that one is simple

Just for changing stat icons.... NO NEED TO DEODEX ...Even you can make it with just your cell phone, without the help of a COMPUTER...
Click bellow to see-
First you need "Zarchiver" and "Root Explorer" and rooted sgy duos ...
Then copy your Systemui.apk to your sd card and extract just the "drawable-ldpi" from there with Root explorer, then go to the extracted folder and change the stat icons which you want....But remember don't change the name of the icons which you have changed, rename your custom icons as stock sys ui icon names...when everything done, then open "Zarchiver" and go to sdcard's sysui.apk, just click to it and view, don't extract. After this from there delete the drawable-ldpi folder and push your customised "drawable-ldpi" folder in the place of deleted "drawable-ldpi" folder,But dont replace the folders, first delete one then add other one...
All done now just open root explorer and move the customised syssui to system/app folder and replace with original...and change the permission to rw--r--r..REBOOT now..
DON'T FORGET TO PRESS THANKS IF I HAVE A BIT SUCCESS TO HELP YOU
Hi everyone,
I have a bootlooping issues. I replaced my services.jar with one from another rom. Now my phone bootloops every time it reaches the lockscreen.
I still have my original services.jar in the internal memory of my phone.
Could someone point me in the right direction to restore my original services.jar ?
You could use the build in file manger in your custom recovery
If the built-in file manager doesn't work, creating a flashable zip with your services.jar would.
