I'm as cheap as I am lazy which leaves me with a few computers around the house that don't have wifi cards or cabling run to them, I have a wireless router and would like to be able to plug my phone into these computers and share my wifi from my phone to my computer to get internet at least while Im in there.
I've looked for a while but cant find anything but sharing my internet through the phone company, to slow where Im at. anyone know of any programs or ways i can set this up?
With a day or so more of research i was actually able to get this one taken care of, if your looking for this sort of thing I found this

this nifty program lets you pick which interface you want to do ICS over, works great!

You can try WMWiFiRouter. This is great peace of software.
Hello,
With my phone goes something strange with the internet speed.
When I use any browser or even skifire to watch videos is quite slow in the youtube app is the same, but if I use my hd2 internet sharing option on the computer I can see perfectly videos and I work to 1015 mbps.
I tried several roms and radios but the performance is similar.
I know I cannot compare a computer with the hd2 but I find it very strange that even the skyfire feel much slower than my old Samsung omnia I900L.
A similar thing happens to anyone or does anybody know how to improve navigation from the cellphone?
Hi all
ok so im at uni, and the net requires a proxy server connection, which is fine for most things (pc, ps3 etc) but not the nexus one as many of you will know.
After googlings i found these:
http://discuz-android.blogspot.com/2008/01/set-proxy-for-android-web-browser.html
and
http://alexmogurenko.com/blog/programming/android-how-to-set-proxy-for-android-browser/
is this any use to me (or anyone else infact)? I dont want the browser to go through the proxy all the time as its just a lan proxy (well ive a router so wifi), meaning i odnt want it through 3g, etc etc.
Now, im fairly new to android, and have no experiece with SQL. So I'd rather not have a crack right away incase it blows up in my face or something
(i know it says no question etc, but hopefully this will help some other people out there so im regarding it as a tip , if i can be cheeky )
Hello,
Is anyone else having this problem? When I tether the Internet connection off my phone (wifi tethering) my browser and rom manager's Internet connection work fine, but Gapps, the market, Dropbox and several other apps will not connect to the Internet... Does anyone know the cause of this?
Did you enable "restrict background data"? I know Play Store doesn't work for me when I restrict that.
Otherwise everything works fine tethered to my Galaxy Nexus.

I did not unless it does this by default... I'm tethering 3G, not 4g... Could it just be my 3G isn't strong enough signal?
This Q&A thread is ridiculous! You ask a question and your post is bounced back 3 pages before u can get a response! And do Devs even cruise this thread looking to answer questions? It's all just fellow average users! BUMP

I can't really answer your question, but I have ( or had) a similar issue. ( Plus it will bump the thread up As you know, WiFi tethering will rape your phones battery. My HTC Wildfire S battery sucks ass to begin with, so its a must it is plugged in if I'm going to tether for more than 15 mins. I tried an app called FoxFi, because it's got rave reviews and it has Bluetooth tethering...and compared to WiFi tether, BT tethering uses hardly any battery. Well, I could save over 50℅ battery by using BT tether, and I was so excited. Until I tried to use ANYTHING BUT the web browser. Internet was fine, but everything else just stated "no network connection". No Google Now, no Asphalt 7, and no YouTube. What a let down. Maybe I'll look into it tonight and let you know if I find anything. The battery savings are worth me looking into it.
Much appreciated! I'm hearing that people with 4g phones aren't getting this issue... Perhaps the connection just isn't enough for the market and Gapps? I actually kind of doubt this because browsing is very snappy and I've been able to download large files with relatively good speed

This is a Networking question. Unstable Internet connectivity can be caused by so many things that's it's almost impossible to pin point the cause with a simple 'fix' for a phone. Unless you're willing to sift through all your LAN device configurations to see how traffic is being handled and routed, then a solution will be hard to come by. Try asking this question on a Networking Forum.
