Fast Dormancy on AOKP i9505 - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Has anybody been able to successfully turn off fastdormancy on i9505 running AOKP like PACman ROM and etc? The app FastDormancy Toggle for i9300 does not work. Nor do the AOKP roms seem to have the nwk_info.db file.
FD is killing the battery. Any help in this respect would be greatly appreciated!
Are there any roms that have FD turned off by default? Or exists as an option/toggle?

I am also unable to disable Fast Dormancy on i9505. Its killing my battery.
I tried on AOKP and also on AOSP (CM 10.1.3).
Some help from masters would be really appreciated.
The file nwk_info.db is missing too. Its not there in the folder.
Thank you in advance.

[Q] how to remove the CRT effect ?

Hi,
I test various rom : TW, cyanogen, aosp, Google edition... on my i9505 galaxy s4.
I don't like the CRT effect, when the sceren go off.
I found, for example, a patch allowing me to change the battery icon in percentage, to be flashed in recovery.
is there a patch, allowing me to remove the CRT effect
thanks
Olivier
Set animator duration to 0 in developer settings
Sent from my GT-I9505 using XDA Premium HD app
Download an omega files, there is a mod allows you to remove CRT-OFF effect
Sent from my GT-I9500 using xda app-developers app
thanks for feedback.
I tried to set anlmation duration to 0, it had no effect.
when you are talking about Omega file : are you talking about a ROM ?
I don't want to go back to a TW ROM, so Omega ROM is not an option for me.
GE, ASOP, or Cyanogen, or Miui. only that )
thanks for you help.

edit build prop. line "persist.sys.screen_off=crt". Change "crt" to "none"
>edit build prop. line "persist.sys.screen_off=crt". Change "crt" to "none"
thanks
it does not work .
I tried also to replace off by fade. without any success (I have rebooted each time)
I am under cyanogenmode, may be it comes from that. (Cyanogem mod 10.2, i9505 galaxy s4)
thanks

New nexus user questions about rom and kernel

I tried searching for these questions but remained uninformed.
1) ROM: I installed paranoidandroid 4.1 beta and it looks pretty much similar to the stock rom. I see some youtube video with a lot more customization options and just wondering where they are since i cant find any in the settings menu. For example, how can i edit the lockscreen unlock shortcuts? I would like to add sms, camera, and mail to the circle shortcuts which only includes the unlock as of now.
2) Kernel I installed franco kernel latest r203 and im just wondering how can i edit these settings or am i not allowed to? by settings i mean changing cpu options (disabling 2 cores to save battery) and what other settings i can tweak for better overall performance to battery ratio.
I have rooted / installed custom roms and kernels on htc and samsung and they let me change these settings so im just wondering how it works with the nexus.
Thanks for the help!

1) PA stated that they were going for a stock look so if you want a rom with customizations I suggest you check out Carbon, Vanir, Slimkat, etc...
2) Some kernels have the option to do that like Faux, Franco himself doesn't feel the need to jam a bunch of options into his kernel so if you really want multiple kernel options check out other kernels.

are you sure it's really efficient?????? maybe it's better to underclock the phone and you can do it with few apps....
maybe I remove some apps in V15 that I leave in V16.......what do you type in terminal?????I will try in V16
adb shell "echo 1 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu1/online"
or
adb shell ->
# stop mpdecision
# echo 1 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu1/online
yes enough for me two core or one core for chatting when wanna play game I can change it
I used two apk from store but doesnt work
quad core manager and something like that
but ultimate kernel with stweaks can to it with extreme battery profile
sorry, I have not tried yet because I'm playing with the tweaks of the last shinto kernel and specially undervolting and cpu max frequenz.....
you should try it.....synapse is included and you can control it.....
What a great rom! Stable as a rock. Thnx a lot! Only thing i find pitty is that i'm missing s-pen use (quick memo etc) Trying to use V19 is resulting in a boot loop. I'm using shinto-kernel. Could that be the problem?

Okay, thnx. Thougt there was a full rom v19.
With shinto i'll ran in a bootloop.
But I'm gonna try it again. Thnx!
V 19 is running. Failure was probably due to shinto-kernel.
V24 with s-pen would be higly appreciated. (s-pen is nr 1 reason for me to buy the n9005)
Many thnx for the great work!
This is the best ROM I have used so far, its fluidity has no match, battery life is awesome and I got very large amount of unused ram.
I use Shinto kernel on it

Hey man, just a quick question: If i have installed the V2 version and later on I decided to move to TW launcher and set DPI to 480 back, is it rom related that I can't put action memos as widgets? (the button is missing) and when I try to change the wallpaper with a builtin one it says app not found. Is this due to debloating or the fact that I used V2? If I just dirty flash the V1 will it work ok?
Thanks.

for action memo it's normal, it's include in snote now.....and I have changed wallpaper without problems
Either I'm stupid or I can't find a way to make it as a widget.
i know it's integrated with the s note but still... isn't there supposed to be a button (like a pin ) to add it on the screen?
Also as for the builtin wallpapers I posted the picture below with the error but i think it's just the result of debloating

How to keep LED notification on while screen on i9505 4.4.x

Is there any MOD which can keep the notification LED on while the display is still on? Previously this was possible using JKay Deluxe. Currently, I don't find anythings. Any suggestion is appreciated or someone please make a mod on this.
I currently use 4.4.4 custom TW ROM with xposed framework.

For a particular app? Like notifications of sth?
"If someone helps, never forget to hit thanks ? "
This is the main reason I am stuck on 4.2.2 is so that JKay Deluxe works to enable LED with screen on. It surely must be possible to mod so the LED works with screen on for 4.4.4.
I won't mind if the mod is app specific

I was looking for something global, but if it's app specific it will be okey for me. Like gmail, hangouts and skype.
It is definitely possible because this LED behavior is available in 4.2.2. Also in 4.4.4 even the LED is on during bootanimation.
Ok, I got this.
Finally, I got it. I am gonna be damned for how I missed this one. XLED Xposed module got it worked!

Greenify causes Dialer lag

I disabled powernap but didnt fixed the issue but when I disable greenify the lag was gone
So please can anyone tell me exactly which option/setting in greenfy might be causing this problem?

Greenify uses accessibility settings. Disable them and the lag will go away. Unfortunately Greenify won't work properly if at all, so you have to decide which is more important to you: no lag or battery life.
An article posted on the portal over the weekend talked about lag caused by accessibility settings. Greenify was featured.
