What do you think?
I mean, if I'm using touchless, it probably means my hands are busy, so doesn't it make sense that when I ask my phone to call someone, the call by default is on loudspeaker. To me, it doesn't make any sense to ask the phone to call, and then still use your hands to either touch the loudspeaker button, or to grab it and speak regularly.

I am unsure of the point you are making. Regarding the loudspeaker being set to on by default there is an option to toggle the loudspeaker to off in Touchless Control settings. For them to have you speak a command to toggle on Touchless control would be overdoing it. I think that the phone you want is about 3-4 years away. I do not see why you would want to speak a command to toggle on or off the loudspeaker, it would confuse the other party.

So THAT'S why I hadn't seen it the first time!
But wait a minute... the loudspeaker is now on for EVERY call! So instead of having to turn it on every time I use touchless, now I have to run it off every time I don't? Well... still better than the previous scenario... at least now I have an actual hand available to turn it off... but still, isn't it just really logic that I'd like to place a call through the earpiece when using the phone in a normal way, and have the hands-free thing work when I'm using touchless?

Just wondering, does the touchless voice control work with bluetooth?? Will it always be listening through the headset? Or will the phone still take the command directly and just relay the call to the bluetooth?

Yes it does. You can still use the "okay google now" and talk to the phone, or you can push the button on your headset, and give your command to the phone, without saying "okay Google Now".
The update I just downloaded from Google play has the option to use speakerphone

Anyone already tried this technique on our Vibrant?
Dunno if its possible on the vibrant but even if it was we would need an app that's coded for it. Right now it seems all the recording apps require mic+speakerphone.

I use the app called "Call Recorder" and have had great success with recording conversations without the use of speakerphone during the call. I recorded a sample of me calling my cell phone from my home phone. The recording quality is good enough that you can hear the caller's dialogue, and your voice will be crystal clear because it's recorded through our phone's microphone.

I signed into Google Voice on my phone to check out what it was, then boom...it takes over my phone. I hit do not disturb because I think it'd revert everything back but instead it blocked all incoming phone calls/texts. So, I took Google Voice and signed out of it and now I have call screening (where I have to press 1 to accept calls) and I no longer receive texts...last I did was sign out then uninstall Google Voice. What the hell?
Running stock GRJ90 deodexed/rooted.
To completely disable it you have to sign into Google.com/voice and disable it in the settings

Have you tried a voodoo kernel?
On another note, I use GV for voicemail and voip when I want. On the first install it took over my entire phone buy after changing settings online I got it set up the way I wanted.

<3 i think the your problem is that you integrated your number when you install it instead of continuing press skip and then it will ask if you want to sign in with your gmail and follow the steps i had the same problem do not integrate!!1!!ONE!!
I'm finally able to use Google Voice without it taking over my device. After you've removed yourself from the software. You can go to the GV settings via the internet on your computer and just choose activate voice mail instead of choosing to integrate your device. Once this is done, open up GV on your device, and the first window allows you to skip the integration portion and allows you to just use it as Voicemail. BOOM!

I'll try this lol. I've got like 12 voicemails and can't get to them because I don't know my Sprint voicemail PIN. LOL
Question for Sprint customers who are using their Sprint number for their Google Voice account; are your Sprint mobile to mobile or anytime minutes accurate when using Google Voice?
Reason, I have seen complaints on other blogs, pertaining to inaccurate minutes usage and wondered if any of you have experienced this.
Best Regards!
Hello guys!
my friend has got a problem... this morning we were at school, and he had his phone in silent mode with data connection disabled... at a certain point, a stupid voice came out from his phone saying: "data connection disabled". it was quite loud and I don't know what could it be...have you got any ideas? remember, the phone was in silent mode and he didn't disable the data connection when the voice came out... thank you
The only time a voice ever came from my phone that wasn't a phone call - when I was applying voodoo lagfix.
I don't know in fact but this voice was one of the synthesized voices... but I don't know where it came from! hahahahahaha
Probably your friend installed any Kernel using Voodoo lagfix and it got rebooted inside his pocket... Then the Kernel converted the filesystems and the voice could have said: "Lagfix is now disabled" right before rebooting...
mmmm no, he didn't installed anything, and I clearly heard "data connection disabled"... I'm italian, I heard the equivalent of "data connection disabled" in italian... his phone is equipped with froyo 2.2.1, do you think if I flash a new ROM, maybe a gingerbread one, the problem could be solved?
Are you sure, that voice came from your phone nothing else???
yeah! from the phone! :O

I remember hearing this in Google Navigation when you loose or disable data connection. There is a separate setting for navigation volume only inside the app. Who knows, maybe your friend used navigation and didn't close it properly. If you just hit BACK, this app keeps running in the background. Hope it helps.

i honestly dont remember i tried several apps from the market, i could look to see if any of them look familiar but i move through so much stuff i cant say for suer which one it was. plus i use cm7 and this could have played a role what worked and how well it worked. sorry!!
I use CallRecorder from the market and Lithid's Freedom v8.5 kernel. Works great. I get both sides and I don't have to be on speaker phone.
Google voice, press #4 when the call connects. The best I have used.

Yes, you can answer from your tablet.....no B/T required. Only calls you have to pay for are international calls.

Is is possible that Google Voice is not available in Canada....
tablet talk is like a remote control for your phones dial er. It uses the radios in the phone itself. It does not connect to a web site or server to make send or receive anything. uses your carriers services you pay the same as you normally would to use your phone
Google voice is a extention of the google mail/ messenger. Its the same as using google messenger for a video call. It can be connected using any sips software . Such as grove ip as well as other apps.. This uses a web bases server and requires data or wifi to work. very slow over data service.
Each of them work totally different from one another ..
so the answer is YES with tablet talk you can answer the calls coming into your phone. as well as see caller id information on the tablet. I really enjoy having the app. There is from time to time disconnect issues. But i think thats me messing with my tablet so much ..
