Hi guys
I have given my 6 year old a 2012 tilapia & she always likes to dial the brightness up. Is there an app that can prevent access to settings & the pull down quick access that also has access to brightness control?
Device is on stock 4.3 unrooted
Thanks

I use a (paid) app called Battery Indicator Pro which has the ability to disable your lock screen. Works quite well. It doesn't permanently disable it as if you restart your phone the lock screen will show.
The main function of the app puts your battery status in the notifications window and allows you to view what has been eating away at your battery.
I hope that's what you meant by "auto screen lock"
Yeah, sounds right. I find it a pain trying to drive and unlock at the same time, esp if you wanna make a call or skip tracks on music player

Settings>>Applications>>Development>>Stay Awake.
Using the method I mentioned above, just note that the screen will still turn off, but when you hit home or power it will go right back to whatever you were doing.
You can set your screen to never time out in the settings.

try using Extended Controls or SwitchPro widgets to skip ahead some extra steps in making your phone always awake.
Tried the dont turn screen off while charging and it works!

I keep my Desire Z on when it's in the dock, displaying a flip-clock app.
Unfortunately, when it's on and powered, it insists on keeping the capacitive button lights on.
Is there any way of disabling those lights?
Thanks!
If you are using CyanogenMod you can adjust the settings for auto back light and there are controls for the buttons also. You can set them to be off all but when it is the darkest. That's what I do.

Hm, I am using CM 7, but I can't find the settings for the buttons. Can you be more specific? Thanks.

Yup, I've got that, but no specific button setting. Sorry.
Use custom>edit other levels...

THAT's where it was! Thanks so much - exactly what I needed.
Alternatively you can use an awesome app called Screen Filter (available at the market)
It's not an automatic solution but when I used CM7 I mapped it to long pressing search which made it very useful.
Hello,
Since I've updated to 4.3 power control doesn't work properly.
When adding the widget it's good, but after some time, it stops switching from blue to black when pressing. Even though the function it self remains. For instance wifi on/off
When deleting widget and re adding it's the same, works at start then no.
Tried fix permission.
I think it might be related to the restore I did with titanium backup. But couldn't find anything related there
Im rooted
Thank you!

Has Power Control been updated for 4.3?
Think so, how can I check?

Hey just signed up with my new email and I am unable to post of the PAC forum yet. so i figured i would get some help here. Anybody have any idea how to disable the back and menu key backlight. I hate the lights coming on even for just a second, its a unnessecary (but small) battery drain, and i really like how flat and black my phone looks and would rather not have those buttons show.
You may disable key light as it. Setting/my device/display /touch key light duration /always off. If I helped. Press the thanks button.

Thank you but i think that is how to disable to lights on the stock rom. I am using the 9/4 nightly of the PAC rom. the setting is not under display and lights.
It used to be under advanced settings. that is no longer an option. any ideas?
Use a different launcher like nova, apex or adw, long press the home screen and add shortcut. Add advanced settings. There ya go

Move settings across to the left so you get the screen with PAC settings scroll to 'buttons' down the bottom and you can turn them off in there

Has any one figured out a way to disable the software keys on the G2 AT&T Variant? I would like to use PIE / LMT Launcher instead. I know I can use LMT with software keys on, I just don't like them on when using it.
Use Gmd if you have root and turn them off then use let as you like.
Edit: here you go
