Which ROM? I experienced this a few days back on CM10.1. Turns out it was trying to download and install the OTA. There's a thread in the general section as well titled something along the lines of "Google Services Massive Data Usage" with steps on how to prevent the phone from downloading the OTA repeatedly.

Same problem here so I've downloaded FOTAKill.apk and placed it in the folder said. Not sure if it works yet as I only did it a couple of hours ago.

I would download Avast from Google Play and scan sdcard and apps. Not sure what it is. Looks like spam-ware.

Thanks for the tip, just tried and avast says all is good. Should I be worried about this?

Just noticed I scanned it when the file wasn't there. Maybe I'll wait till it gets created then I'll scan?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
I found that in my phone the other day too. I don't know what it is, but it doesn't really do anything.
Could be a log file. I'm not sure what it is. I would scan again once it appears. Not sure if it is I needed file or not. I don't have a nex 4 but was looking into getting one that's why I'm at the forum.
You can try sd maid which has a system cleaner. Or change the files permissions if you are worried about it transmitting data. But I wouldn't mess with it too much until you figure out what it is.

I suspect it's something to do with adverts in some app on your phone.

I have that file also, along with three others that I have no idea what they are.

You guys could wipe your sdcard with twrp if you are worried, but back up all your wanted sdcard data to a computer first. And then put it back on right after. I do that with my Nexus 7 sometime. Not sure if it is the same process on Nex4. It may not be necessary, not sure.

Just made a similar post. I am having the same issue on just about all the apps I try to install. Maybe something is up with the play store? IDK. I have tried to wipe the apps cache, restarting, uninstalling the play store update and nothing has worked. Over Wifi is how I download my apps because I don't have unlimited data. I have read dling over cell data it works fine.
It is same over cell data too

reset back to factory settings, and see if the same issue occurs.

My Google services is burning through my data. It did it last month and now it's doing it again. I'm not sure why but it looks like it uses huge chunks on random days. Today it used almost half a gb. No clue why. Any ideas?
I'm running vanilla rootbox.

I had this issue when running a 4.2.2 ROM on my Galaxy Nexus. For some reason, some ROMs doing have the auto update disabled, so Google services is continually trying to download the 4.3 update in the background.
You can download the app 'disable service' from the play store and use it to stop that particular service.
From the app:
Go to 'system apps' tab
Then 'google services framework'
Uncheck 'system update service'
That should do the trick.
Alternatively, update to a 4.3 rom and you should be good.
be careful ! use the greenify app! maybe you have an app drinking a lot from your data!
i recommend you flash a new rom and try instead!
Ever since i flashed cyanogenmod 10.1.3 I've had this problem that doesn't allow me to download certain apps on my phone. This does not happen all the time and sometimes I get lucky and the app downloads fine. I always get this error message any one know why??

Clear the data of "Google Services Framework" and 'Google Play Store", reboot and try downloading again.

under "my apps" yes. But I understand that "my apps" and "my orders" are two different things. "my orders" suppose to show all the apps that i downloaded since day one.

meaning that page only shows apps that I purchased and not include free apps that I downloaded? If that is the case do u know where I can view a list of all my previously downloaded apps? I'm trying to find an app I downloaded last time but I can't remember the name, thats why I need like a history or something. Plus I swear last few months I came across a list of all my downloaded app, which include free apps, it was over 180 something
It's in "my apps" -> "all", or at least on your device it's there.

Hit my apps when you're installed apps show swipe right and it should show every app you have installed as long as its still available on play. Sometimes it doesn't show for a while after updating or flashing a new rom . If it still isn't showing after 24 hours I would wipe play data in settings and sign in again and wait if it still doesn't show you could try some of the market fixer apks. Or report it to Google. There should be showing.

You cleared your history and now you want to find something that was supposed to be there.... Then you're outta luck. You're going to have to find that app by hand now.
