[Q] Taking pictures with flash turns out black - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys,
I don't know exactly when this started, but when i take pictures with the flash on, all of my pictures turn out black. I want to say it was with the 4.3 update, so i'm going back to 4.2.2 to find out. Has anyone ran into this? if you did, what did you do to fix it? i searched XDA and google, but i couldn't find anything about this issue, just people saying that the phones camera sucks.

Try this,
Before taking pictures touch on the focus(circle on the screen) and then take the pictures. :good:
If rooted you can try some different ROM.

[Q] Green Image on WP7 Camera

Im sorry if this been asking before, but i've search and not find a clue.
What i want to know is the greenish image when we take picture with flash on is known issue?
Because i got that problem
If that is a known issue, is there any way to fix that?
Thanks before.....
Its a known issue and its caused by the very tiny delay in LED flash
you can avoid that with turning the flash off. but with flash its unavoidable.

i already try some apps, it can focus on camera but the image is still greenish...
Thanks again for explanation......
Color correction?
Isn't there some kind of color correction you can apply?
Supposed to be getting fixed in the up coming update, but there is a partial fix on some of the other threads for the camera.

HELP: My camera no longer takes quick photos after the latest Sprint update.

First, my quick boost setting still works. This is not about that. Before taking the latest update, I could hit the shutter about 5 times a second and it would react just as quickly and take pictures. After the update, it barely takes 1 picture every 10 seconds.
Is there a shutter speed setting I'm missing somewhere?
Has this happened with anyone else?
Thanks.
Anyone? TIA.
I dont have the sprint phone, i have the att, however, i had this issue after an update. Im not on stock anymore so i cant recall what setting it is, but one of the quick settings is for a type of smart camera....where as the camera actually takes multiple shots, but only keeps one. It does this to try and get the best picture. Find it and disable it, see if it helps.

I have gone through all of the settings and don't see anything like that. What you are explaining sounds like exactly what could be causing this though, so I am intrigued. Can anyone chime in?

[Q] Red light - how widespread is this?

Hey everyone -
I originally posted about this in the Extreme Syndicate thread, but wanted to also ask here. I'm not sure if this is an issue wit my phone, the ROM, or the S5 in general. I'm on Extreme Syndicate L v2, and did a clean flash of it yesterday.
This morning, I noticed that placing the phone on it's back on a white surface while the screen is on caused a red light to appear. I think it's the heart rate sensor, but I'm not sure.
Is anyone else experiencing this? And could whatever-sensor-this-is-that-is-apparently-always-going be causing some people's battery drain on Lollipop?
Here's a short video.

Please post below whether or not you have this issue and which ROM you are on. Thanks!!

This is not very wide spread from what i know, its not related to the ROM, i was stock unrooted android. Its an error in the Update process. Verizon is unable to fix it besides a wipe to the phone, Just factory reset the Phone and the red light will stop. Sorry I cant explain any more.

Are you saying you experienced this problem and have fixed it with a factory reset? Since I just wiped and re-set everything yesterday, I'd really only want to go this route if it's a proven fix... Thanks!
Sent from my SM-G900V using XDA Free mobile app
OK, I think I have it narrowed down to Google Fit. I went into the app's settings and told it to not monitor my activity. After a reset of the phone, the light isn't turning back on. I'm going to monitor it for the next hour or so to confirm that it's really off for good.
EDIT - The light is still staying off, so Google Fit appears to have been the culprit!

This Would make sense since when i would run S-health it would be off for as much as a day before returning. Google fit is a good idea, if that solves it try uninstalling the app and re installing I'm interested in know why a reset of my phone solved this.
Just as a quick heads up to anyone still watching this form, the red light error with google fit has been repaired. You can now use google fit properly and you will not get the heart rate monitor always being active.

Camera's Flash Won't Turn On While on Narrow Lens

Hey XDA's folks!
I have a non rooted ATT H910. The stock camera app can't turn the flash on when i take photo with the narrow lens. I tried the manual mode but it still doesn't work. The flash works fine while on video though, the flashlight also has no problem.
Tried any other camera apps and it works, only the stock apps that wont turn the flash on while im taking picture. This bother me when i use instagram and whatsapp because i cant use the flash too.
Already tried restart, clear data and cache of the stock camera, factory reset and still no solution. Could you help me?
Ok this sucks
I've had this before on my rooted H990. I wish I could remember what I did to fix it, but there was something. I can tell you with confidence, that it isn't a hardware problem. I'll think about it today and get back to you if / when I remember. It wasn't complicated...
