No need to change the RM-820 to RM-821. There is very easy way to update the ROM. This is very simple with Nokia tool. Here is the tool name: Nokia Software Updater for Retail 3.0.8. Just make Google search and find it Maybe it is not the last version, so it will ask you to update if needed, do not worry. What you have to do ? Before you start doing anything you should know that this update will wipe up everything in your phone. So, think it over before you start doing update.
1. Make back up of your phone and data.
2. Connect cable to your phone Lumia 920 and computer.
3. Start update.
4. All will go automatically.
5 Finally enjoy.
Take into consideration that after install you have 2G, 3G and 4G connection. But the phone will be connected to 4G. So if you do want to change it just go to Settings-Cellular-Highest Connection Speed and change it to 3G or 2G or leave it 4G if you want to.
Please, take into consideration that I am not the person who made this. All credits go to this person where you can find instruction what and how.
See the web site: http://www.wolfgang-ziegler.com/blog/manual-amber-gdr2-update-on-my-lumia-920#.UiDNPdIwfxe
p.s. I am not responsible for your device at all if you brick or something happens to your device. Please read carefully everything before you flash. But in picture you can see my device that is developer device from Canada but I live in Israel. Do not forget to thank me too
I've seen the Nokia Updater Software app. I forgot all about that since Rogers finally came out with their Amber ROM for the RM-820 devices. One thing though, is this putting the same AT&T Developer ROM that I have listed in my thread on the phone? I've seen that the Rogers Amber ROM is much more stable than that one. Can you post screenshots of your extras+info with the more info button clicked? I want to see what it's branded as.
ALSO, Reupload the photos you have on here but REMOVE your IMEI from it.
Thanks you about IMEI. I did not even think about it. I do not think that it is the same Rogers Amber developer ROM. Take a look in the pictures of Extra info. This ROM is stable and for me really I had no problems at all. I have checked every little thing in the ROM. I like it a lot.
It's the same as the AT&T Dev ROM. It's also branded for Canada with 000-CA as the branding code. IF you start to run into issues with data and wifi acting crazy, I'd switch to the Rogers equivalent as it has been very stable for me.
Nokia retailer tool found and updated it. So I guess it will not update again. And for now I do not have problems at all. WiFi and data is OK for me even better than before and more sensitive. I do not see any problems. But I live in Israel and updated in such an easy way that I am very surprised how I succeeded to make it. I just plugged the phone and that's all generally saying. But I looked in your thread it was unclear for me. So I found this and made it. Now I am more than happy and make better pictures quality with more zooming. Now I can tell that My Nokia Lumia 920 developer device takes better pictures than my former HTC Sensation XL phone.
Yeah. I'm glad you made this thread. When I released mine, the Amber Rom for the at&T dev rom wasn't up on NCS yet so the only way to get it was to get it from that wperhelper app.
You are right now people can flash the ROM but I am not sure if this is only for developer devices or this tool can find also all updates ? No matter where you live. I am sure lots of people wait for updates and lots of developer devices did not get yet and lots of other devices owners do not know how easy is to update the ROM in Nokia Lumia. It is easier than Android for me. By the way. i am future developer, I am studying Java on my own from youtube.
Have a question. How come Nokia officially does not support this tool that I found in internet ? I mean openly. And why ? If it flashes and I did it well. For me it is very strange to get negative answers from Nokia representatives of Canada that there is no update for my developer device and in Israel where I live Nokia told me that they cannot help me and i should contact the other representative in other countries.

Do you have more than 10 GB videos/pics/songs on your handset? Do you have offline GPS apps (such as Navigon, Here Drive, CoPilot) with maps? Do you play games (and wanna save your results/progress)?
I don't understand why people calling update with full wipe "easy update"? Or you have a lot of free time?

What is difficult with update with full wipe ? Tell me please. Yes, it is easier than Android and I will tell again and again. It seems to me that you are not satisfied with something and try to blow up your non satisfaction in here. No need to tell about having a lot of free time at all. You lose your point here. Please try to be to the point. I did this in order to make easier to flash the new ROM, not to discuss about having a lot of time or less time. thank you for your understanding sensboston.
I already quoted words with which I don't agree. WP updates with full wipe is much more complicated comparing with Android. Nobody (including you) in WP ROM update topics never mention about full user data wipe in the opening posts. This may confuse some people and make this procedure dangerous and not suitable.
What is difficult with update with full wipe? Tell me please.

In the case of the full wipe/reset I should:
- re-upload 16 GB of pics/videos/music to my handset;
- re-download maps for Navigon, Here Drive, CoPilot;
- re-synchronize my corporate email (yes, I should keep all my emails to be able to search some important info);
I'll lose all my:
- alarms/contacts ringtones;
- game progresses;
- user groups and linked accounts assignment;
Is it not enough for you? For me - it is!
And - again! - WP updates are not an "easy"! It's my point.
Thank you for info, I have added up a sentence about full wipe, even though it is written in the url that I suggested to go to for more details. Additionally, I personally do not have so much stuff in phone as you do that's why for me it is easier to make full wipe. I have back up of my all pics and videos and SMS. So, make your update via regular one over the air if you have so much stuff to do, nobody forces you to update this way. Or if you think that you lose a lot, maybe do not update at all. Still, for me it is easier update comparing to Android because saying the update I mean the process of updating not whatever you should do afterwards. In Android you have to unlock boot loader, root, and so on. Here I did not see the problem with my updating process. Whatever after the update is more individual related issues.

Sorry, I cannot answer your question at all since mine is completely different rom and my device is different as well. Yours is lumia 925 and mine lumia 920 developer device. But I can tell about my device that I got at & t rom and now when I plug into computer and start this tool it gives me update but the other one - canadian update of rogers which would be exact for my device.
By the way this at & t rom is not stable. I will go now for Rogers, Canadian variant as my phone is developer Canadian one

RM-820 = North American Lumia 920
RM-821 = Asia Pacific/South American/European Lumia 920
821 ROMS will have different wireless band information from 820 ROMS (especially if you're on CDMA) since the bands are different between North America and other continents.

I've gone through all the pages in the Prophet part of the forum I can't seems to find answer for the (probably) very simple questions that I have. I'm guessing that just about everyone (except me of course) knows the answers to these questions so here goes:
1. Upgrading ROM, why?
I'm guessing that the main reason to do an update is the same a running updates for a normal PC? Old problems and issues are resolved with a new rom?
2. Different versions?
Going through the forum you run across various versions; Dopod, I-mate, S200 (and some I've probably missed). Is there any page or guide that shows the differences between the various versions?
3. Phone company info?
If you update the rom, will all phone company info be lost? Can you enter the stuff that needs to be entered manually? I'd hate to do an update and then not be able to use my phone anymore.
4. Warranty?
Any idea if messing with your rom voids the warranty on the phone?

Yes.
2. Different versions?

Mainly due to some of the goodies attached to some of the ROM, e.g. the splash screen some of the Today's plugins.. and mostly on the Ext ROM.
3. Phone company info?
If you update the rom, will all phone company info be lost? Can you enter the stuff that needs to be entered manually? I'd hate to do an update and then not be able to use my phone anymore.
Yes. Yes. You can still use your phone if you know what you are doing.
4. Warranty?
Any idea if messing with your rom voids the warranty on the phone?
Yes, it will void your warranty in most cases.
thanks for the quick reply..
2. Different versions?
Any idea if you can see somewhere what the differences are? And does it really matter if I use the Dopod rom on my Qtek S200?
3. Phone company info?
I was suddenly wondering if you really need to enter any info at all. Isn't it enough to set Network to automatically select and the info on the SIM will take care of the rest?
Hi cobra25.
In the future I recommend you don't restrict your browsing to the Prophet part of the forum. There is a lot of interesting stuff in the general forums for everyone and then there is the WiKi.
Now to your questions:
1) Yes, it's just like updating your desktop windows and device drivers, but while a certain update may fix some issues, it may cause others.
Example: AKU2 update gives you push mail and A2DP (BT stereo) but it removes clock from taskbar and makes the date plugin 2 lines high. This really annoys some people.
2) This are versions from different brands. Ordinarily you can only upgrade to the same brand you bought the phone under. To change brand you need to CID unlock you phone or use a special updater that doesn't check for vendor ID. All this info can be found in the WiKi.
Unfortunately, I don't think there is a comparison page for Prophet (someone posted a doc file for the Universal a while back). I do remember a couple of month ago someone on this forum written a comparison after flashing several different ROMs.
3) Settings for MMS and internet (I assume that's what you meant, since everything else is stored on the SIM) will be lost unless the update was issued by your phone company (like Orange or O2), but it is not difficult to recover. You can set it up manually (your phone company is obligated to provide the setting on their site or through customer support), or you can unlock the extended ROM (simple registry tweak) and save the settings cab file to the PC.
4) If you use an official update from the OEM or the phone company, it shouldn't void the warranty. However it is best to check with who ever sold you the device on the exact policy.
Thanks for the answers. The weekend is just around the corner so I'll take your advice and take a look in the general forum.
As for point 3:
Can you believe that I haven't even looked at MMS & Internet yet. I've got my normal PC for internet. Currently using it to play games, use the calendar, contact and mainly the normal phone.
Next thing I'm going to take a look at is push mail, that certainly seems interesting..
Ok, well to set you off on the push mail thing:
If you have an exchange server available, it as easy as entering its info in ActiveSync on the device.
If not look up mail2web. It's a free service, but you do need to create an account.
But heed my warning:
Push mail uses a lot of GPRS traffic and as a result shortens battery life significantly.
It is not recommended if you have limited data plan or can't recharge your phone every day.
Oh and one thing I forgot to mention:
When you update the ROM all data in your device is deleted so back it up!
Have a nice weekend!

Another disturb factor is SPAM. It is push mail killer.
Just had my HTC Touch 3G on the UK orange network for a few days and have been trying to set it up for my personal tastes etc...
The Orange UNIQUE function, is there a way to just have WiFi on or off, not the hybrid thing that orange seem to want you to use. On my previous HTC phone , a Titan, I just stopped GPRS connectivity and used WiFi but with the UNIQUE setup it doesn't seem possible to do this..
The contacts list, is there anyway to show the list with first name FIRST... I have tried to find a option in the setup menus but have not managed it yet..
Most if my contacts are on first name terms.. I know to look for Joe, Fred or Sally but trying to remember the last name or if I just saved as Joe @Garage etc is a pain for me...
Strange but if I view a individual contact, it appears in the correct order, First name first, last name last etc...
Any thoughts, help etc would be appreciated on a otherwise (so far anyway !) very good device..
Thanks Phil-w
The unique thing is bobbins, I contacted orange about it and the lady in customer services basically admitted that it meant I wouldn't be able to use wifi for normal data connections! So I took the plunge and flashed it to standard HTC ROM, all is well now! I would recommend you do the same!
Yeah as jmrenshaw said just flash your phone with htc rom. Those operator roms are blocking many things on the phone.Good luck.
Where can I get the standard ROM from HTC
Hi everyone,
I'm having a nightmare of a time with Orange's changes to the phone. I want to have the phone as it would be if I bought it offline. Please help me with this.
I assume I need to flash the ROM to the standard ROM but where do I get a hold of this and how do I flash the ROM? And would I be able to get back to Orange's setup in case need to warranty purposes?
Any help would be appreaciated.

What you can do is: put first names in "File as" field, then the contact list will display first names. "Files as" will default to last name.

I've managed to do what you want to do by using one of the dumps posted on the forum here and converting that into a ROM and then flashing the phone with that ROM. Its quite straight forward but I guess you're asking if someone can do that for you. Where abouts are you based?

Yes thanks, I am asking if someone will do it for me - sorry if I was vague but get a bit embarrassed! I have to use my mouth to type so using a "Touch" phone is great but when it comes to more intricate and complicated tasks, I am afraid it gets too difficult. I will be happy to pay of course - postage as well as paying for the job to be done. I just want to get rid of the Orange branded software as I find their software is too "fidly" and I also find that normal access to wifi is easier for me when not using Orange's silly "Unique Manager".
I am based in the UK.
EDIT - NOW SORTED - THANKYOU
Thanks Azahidi,

Hi Ziffos,
I didn't quite understand the bit at the end 'EDIT - NOW SORTED - THANKYOU'. Does this mean that you've managed to get your phone flashed? If you have then great! If not then I might be able to do it for you. Let me know.
Any help apreciated????
Hello
I have just read all the posts here about the Unique Manager and I completely agree. It is a nightmare, Orange UK have wrecked this phone. I have just got my Mrs. a contract on this phone as I intend to set up sat nav on it for her and I have the touch HD, so off the back of your comments I am looking to flash it.
It is running V1.71 and from reading the thrads I have to revert it back to V1.41, how easy did you find it to debrand it as it appears many people have had problems and I am worried about rendering the phone useless!!!!
I have never done anything like this before but I do understand the instructions as they are very indepth, but I am worried that if any exceptions or problems present themselves I won't be able to deal with it.
How straight forward is this process?
Any help is very much appreciated.
It was a long process but worth it!
Hi there,
I've flashed my phone about 2 weeks ago now and am having a much better experience. Actually I really love the phone now so my advice would be to go for it and flash it. I didn't actually read too many of the comments, I just followed the instructions and did it. Maybe just as well as I might have been put off.
Anyway the process was very long winded as I had to take someone's raw dump and then convert that into a ROM and then flash the phone with it. Took quite a long time but I definitely feel that it was worth it. I don't know how risky it is so can't really advise you on that.
I can send you the ROM file that I did generate if you want do it. I hope it goes as smoothly as it did for me if you do decide to go ahead with it.

Hello guys ,
I bought new HTC HD2 today. I am using symbian all my life and switched to Windows mobile now . I am slowly trying to adopt to it.
I dont understand terms like "Rom" , " Custom Roms" , "Rom update" , .I see them every where ...
Can a hard core WM user help me understand what these terms mean .
Thanks
Davie
First of all a ROM is what the phone runs ie, WM (windows mobile 6.5, 6.5.x)
custom ROM is something a chef on here or other various sites, has taken the ROM and made it better the way they like it and made it available for everyone else to use,
ROM updates are usually put out by the networks for stock ROM's i.e. what came on the phone first, have a read in the ROM section thread to get more knowledge.
and this is a very helpful thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=609477
oh and please just use a normal font it will still be answered lol
Like you I came from a symbian device to an HD2 (about 6 months ago) and the only way to get to grips with it is just by reading through the forums endlessly, the best place to start is the wiki and the sticky threads in the various forums. It might be hard to find what your looking for sometimes but trust me anything you'll ever need to know is on here somewhere.
I think you'll be glad you made the switch.........
Happy reading

Thank u for the quicker response !!! I think its prety much like installing another OS everytime I switch to a new Rom . Pls correct if I am wrong.
Also I believe Stock Rom is what I get with the phone itself when I buy and is it possible for me to switch back to the stock rom from a custom rom. And will i be able to install a stock rom update on the custom rom .
thank u
you can still enjoy a lot your device without paying too much attention to these terms. just play around with it and install apps that you like. there are lots of apps here and in other websites. some of them for free. one of my these websites is www.freewarepocketpc.net. just make sure that the apps you install have the same resolution as your device, i.e. wvga. and as suggested, browse through the forums and you'll learn a lot.
welcome to the wm world!

You basically have 2 flavours, 6.5 which more than likely came as standard (Stock) where the start button is on the top left, and 6.5.x where the start button is on the bottom left where most of the custom ROM's are 6.5.x (not all though). yes you can put a stock ROM back on after custom ROM but you wont lol its that simple you will prob just flash (install a new ROM) to something else like the rest of us, the stock ROM updates are not needed on custom ROM's as there all upto date, and the chefs's(the people who create them) are often updating them.
as joshzzz2001 said you can use that website for all your free apps its a very good site and there is also a mobile app, so you can browse on your cell,
All i will say though is if you do Flash make sure you have read through and understand it all, once you have read it and wanna ask a question to double check people are good enough to help but its the people that dont read and fully understand that will screw up, once you have read its a piece of cake.
I know what you mean, it all seems hellishly complicated if your not used to it. Like the guy above said just start installing things and getting to grips with the basics, if theres one thing I would advise its that you reguarly backup your settings/data.
Get microsoft myphone from the marketplace, there are other more in depth backup apps out there but myphone will do the basics. Its quite likely that once you get hooked on tweaking your phone (and you will) that you might have to hard reset (factory reset). I've lost count of how many times I've had to do this. Mainly due to my own lack of knowledge
Its worth it though.... lol
Edit;
Forgot to mention this, Cookies Home Tab.
Absolutely fantastic app for customising your home screen, a must have for any HD2 if you ask me, well worth looking into!

+1 for myphone only good thing to come from MS
conantroutman said:
I know what you mean, it all seems hellishly complicated if your not used to it. Like the guy above said just start installing things and getting to grips with the basics, if theres one thing I would advise its that you reguarly backup your settings/data.
Get microsoft myphone from the marketplace, there are other more in depth backup apps out there but myphone will do the basics. Its quite likely that once you get hooked on tweaking your phone (and you will) that you might have to hard reset (factory reset). I've lost count of how many times I've had to do this. Mainly due to my own lack of knowledge
Its worth it though.... lol
Edit;
Forgot to mention this, Cookies Home Tab.
Absolutely fantastic app for customising your home screen, a must have for any HD2 if you ask me, well worth looking into!
Download here
Good youtube vid of it in action

Can u tell me where I can get more apps like that ....thanks
My phone is carrier (T-Mobile) locked. Will I still be able to install custom roms ..
Thanks
like what lol? cookies home tab will let you change near enough the whole of the main screen, in the themes and apps section you can get different clocks, wallpapers, etc, you just have to have a look around this leo section mate, may take you a few days to figure it all out but its a great forum and loads of stuff on here, to do anything, if you look through this thread you can see what can be done
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=582619
do you have the 1024MB ROM?? use this thread = http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=653614
if you have 512MB use this thread = http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=609477
if you not sure, slide the slider all the way to the end and scroll down to the bottom and click on about phone then hardware information, and look at flash size that is the ROM size then start reading either thread

I have been trying to figure out what is HSPL , SPL ,SSPL and OSPL
What is the differnce
Could u help me with that ...
Thanks
this is where you will get me lol, right hspl is hard sspl is soft, i think and dont quote me but hspl is only needed once its needed for custom roms, you need hspl or sspl to be able to install a custom tom, what you have to do though is work out which model you have i edited my post look up, once you no thar there is 2 links you will need 1 of them and then it will near enough talk you straight through.
ok just realised the 2 links above i posted if you look at post number 2 in either of them it explains hspl and sspl
u r help ful my friend ...Thank u ..
if your on t mobile in the uk i'd reccomend the rom update thats available on the htc site (if your gonna stick with the stock rom) Its a lot less buggy. If your in the US then ignore this!

All the us version T-mobile devices have 1024MB roms.
SPL (secondry program loader aka the boot loader) is basically the bios of the phone. The SSPL is the soft secondry program loader and the OSPL is the original secondry program loader (ie the stock spl). HSPL is the hard (or hacked) secondry program loader and this is required to install custom roms. There are 2 versions of this (hspl and hspl2) the second is applicable to all devices including tmous devices and is recommended. if you want to use hspl, use the same hspl version as your ospl. The ospl/hspl can be upgraded but i havent done this. There is also another application that may interest to you and that is customruu. This allows you to update the radio firmware for your device to a newer version. This has advantages such as better effiency for the GSM, wifi and bluetooth chips thus extending the battery life.
Most of the cooked roms out there are based on the tmous (T-mobile US) 2.10 and above roms. These are WM 6.5.3 and 6.5.5 based and feature better finger support. They also feature seveal fixes including an updated camera driver to fix the camera flash over exposure problem.
I, personally, prefer to stay with the stock roms and tweak them as i don't take many night photos and speed for me is the main thing. You can do this by runnning through the 2 tweaks sticky threads and with the help of phm registry editor. On the speed front there are (for me atleast) a couplel programs that are must haves. These are, netrippers LCS and chainfires 3D gfx driver. Combined with the performance tweaks these eliminate the lag of the stock UI and go as far as making it very fluid and responsive.
I hope this helps
M3PH
there are three hspl versions, not two.
the tmous (t mobile usa hd2, the one with 1024 rom) has its own variant of hspl2, usually referred to as hspl1024.
you said you were on t mobile but not which tmo. is very important to distinguish between tmous and all the others. if it IS a tmous then you need to be really sure about the pitfalls before you flash.if you have a normal hd2 (512 flash size in settings about phone hardware info) then things couldn't be simpler. hspl 2 then any rom you like.
is handy to have your country flag and carrier logo on in your profile, as that can usually tell us which phone you likely have.
Hello friends!
I was prepared to drop a couple of D's get me a unlocked, sim-free Omnia 7 when I came across a little tidbit in some obscure forum; Marketplace is not available for all regions in the world!
Can someone confirm this please? I live in the Middle East - Dubai, to be more precise; and while the phone touches all the important bases, I am a little reluctant spending such a huge amount if it will be crippled.
Is there anyway to bypass or rectify the this problem - like selecting a different region or jailbreaking (chevron) it?
Thanks for all your help

Its ok, since it would be best to get hooked up in a marketplace full of updated apps and new submissions. get the omnia7, set up a US based live account, set you pc's system locale to US (for zune and music artist background to work) and then setup your brand new Omnia7!
If you don't want these changes, you might not be able to maximize WP7 and might not enjoy it.
Thanks for the reply!
Thanks for the reply!
Just to make sure I got it right; set up a new Windows Live Account - US based. Change the Location to US in the Control Panel.
... Do I need to change... say the time zone selected also???
All this before I install Zune, correct?
Anything else I should know?
I am guessing I can add my actual Gmail and Hotmail accounts later on in the phone? Sorry, This will be my first Windows Phone 7 phone, so I am a little leery about everything.
Does Zune installation require mandatory credit card details at any step? You know, for age verification or some such? (To date, I have never installed Zune in my PC so I am a somewhat iffy on things). Will that cause problems with my Location?
Lastly, I have to ask about is it worth it to root/jailbreak your WP7 phone? I mean what "awesome" feature does it unlock for you. I will be buying a phone without warranty anyway, so I there is some benefit it then I guess I can use the Chevron method before updating it...
Any more thought on this matter is quite welcome. I guess am a little nervous on spending so much money for this phone without any return option, so I want to make sure that everything will work out alright.

Hi, I'm a big fan of WP7 and I'm finally getting my first device, it was supposed to be a Lumia 800 but I had some issues with the order and considering some personal aspects, I decided to buy the Samsung Focus and wait for the Apollo-designed devices later this year.
I'm preparing everything for the phone (any advice will be appreciated), I linked my live account with Flickr and Facebook, I synced some content to Skydrive and bought a 16gb Markvision class 4 microSD (I didn't find any Markvision microSD in the compatible list so I guess I'll get a random result), something else to have in mind?
Lastly, I have some question regarding the OS and the unlock of the phone: 1. I have experiencie with iOS and the version's structure, and even with Android, but I can't understand the nomenclature in WP7 (I get 7.5 mango and so on but not the 7.10.7720), if someone can explain me a little bit about it or show me a link to some information I'll appreciate it. 2. How can I unlock the phone? (Jailbreak) I found many posts and videos but not sure if the jailbreak works with Mango, or if I can unlock WP7 and update to mango or what process should I make?*
Thank you very much and hope someone can help me! I've already read the samsung focus wiki and many posts in the forum but any link will help! Thanks!
Welcome to the forum!
I suggest you start with reading the Focus wiki, for starters (in my sig). I think the card should be fine, if it doesn't retain data (ie pictures, videos, apps, music) between soft resets (turn off/turn on) then it's not compatible. Most C4 cards should be ok.
Now, for your questions:
1.
7.5 is the "generic" name for the Mango update to WP7 (aka Windows Phone 7). The numbers in 7.10.7720 represent:
7=OS number
10=generation. read more about versions here. Started with 7.0.xxxx and Mango is 7.10.7xxx (similar to Service Pack for Windows, if you prefer).
7720 is the OS (WP7) build/version. Mango RTM starts at 7720 build. Current released build is 8107
2.
To dev unlock (jailbreak) the phone, follow the 1st post in my signature or go here
Good luck using your first WP7 phone, Focus is a really nice phone. And feel free to ask questions
Thanks!
Thank you very much!
So the unlock that you mentioned will work even in the last 8107 update?
Other thing I don't like is the customization that AT&T put in the phone, and considering that I won't use ot in the US, its kind of meaningless, is there any way to flash the device to a clean WP7 version and then update it to Mango also free of AT&T things?
Lastly, about the updates, is WP7 like iPhone, so Apple send the update to every phone no matter the carrier or country? Or the carrier define when to update? If is the second option, can we manually force an update? And since I use a Mac, I'm worried if the software for Mac users is able to update the phone or not.
Thanks again and its great to see a big community around WP7!

You're welcome.
Yes, WindowBreak project works with the latest 8107 build.
The cleanest stock rom is the Rogers rom. There are a few custom roms as well. You can flash Rogers rom on your AT&T and use it with no problems (I have mine like that).
Updates: MS releases the updates but they are delivered by the carriers. You can manually update, read this thread. If you're on Rogers, you won't have to, though
Question about hardware vesion
Thank you very much! I'm learning a lot! I have a quick question, I guess that the phone that will arrive is version 1.4 (because its from the last ones) so is there any way to put the rogers rom?
If not, I've heard that the best way to "clean" AT&T rom is to delete the preinstalled aaplicationds and activating things like the SMS send/recived check, but I don't know the name and where I can get that app, can you help me with that?
Thank you again for all the information!

You're welcome.
For 1.4, you can just remove the apps and enable the SMS delivery notification. The only thing left will be the logo, but that's ok
Alternately, you can try a custom ROM for 1.4 but I have to warn you that a very few users had issues being stuck at Samsung logo after flashing custom roms. Vast majority is fine.
Great phone!
Hi,
It took me a long to respond but it's because the phone arrived and it's just amazing!
I installed the 16GB SD card, so far so good, jailbreaked it with windowbreak and playing around with all the amazing features!
The screen is good, although there is a little annoying thing with the tiny grid surrounding the pixels.
Anyways, I'd like to answer a few more things if there is no problem with that!
1. The zune player is great, but the videos I saw showed some kind of integration with Zune marketplace, as I live outside the US, I understand that I can't access the music marketplace, but there is no way to at least see the artist bio or the image of the artist? I saw a topic about this but I didn't found an answer
2. My phone's version is 7.10.7720.68 and zune didn't found any update, is there anyway to force the update to the latest version?
3. How do I install the WP7 Tools and the Samsung Tools?
4. Is there anyway to change the tiles color? I saw a tutorial but I've heard that I doesn't work in mango.
Thank you very much for everything! Sorry to bother too much but this is the best forum to topics related to WP7!

Glad you like the phone, you're not the only one It may be a bit obsolete today compared to the new releases but except for the new bling (camera or screen improvements) it performs about the same. Plus you have additional space. You'll get used to the screen, don't worry
1. This one I'll leave for music fans... I'm definitely not an expert in Zune
2. As I said earlier, read this thread to manually update (it's recommended)
3. See points 3&4 here (also in my sig)
4. Possible on Mango. Read here and here (lots of themes, Metro is probably closer to what you're asking)
You're welcome! Trust me, you're just starting to see what WP7 can do. Just browse through the threads (ie here), you'll find a lot of interesting things.
If you're a developer, that's even better, you can add, customize and do things your way!
