[Guide] Use Daemon to control clock speed without SetCpu

Hi guys. I was testing out Daemon yesterday on my phone and I decided to use the same with my Xoom.
Basically you can use Daemon to control your Overclocking (and possible Undervolting if you want) on the Xoom using OC/UV Beater
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1207546
Its written in C which is nice (compared to Java) and light on the system.
You will have to install Andrev_OC - follow this link.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1222020
Changes can be made on the fly as well and it supports profiles.
I AM IN NO WAY RESPONSIBLE FOR YOU BREAKING YOUR XOOM.
Steps to getting everything up and running.
- Ensure root access (Root Checker or Terminal Emulator)
- Download OC/UV Beater
- Download Andrev_OC zip installer but do not flash in Recovery.
- Extract files from Andrev_OC installer and make note of where to push files (in the zip it shows you where files should be placed.)
- If you dont know how to push files via ADB - then learn its a good time to. Otherwise use Root Explorer to push files (same thing)
- Make sure you have busybox installed on system/xbin and use 1.18 (newer releases are buggy) so downgrade if necessary
- Once busybox is installed and files are placed in proper places give the system/xbin file full read/write capability IMPORTANT
- Reboot Xoom (or phone)
- Install OC/UV Beater and you should be able to set profiles. I dont use Andrev_OC's wake and sleep profiles - I just use the standard OC profiles. I dont think its really necessary - so if you agree with me you can just disable those in settings and just use the basic ones.
I got an error. Failed to set profile. There aren't that many options for trouble shooting.
What Kernel and ROM are you using? And are you rooted?
Im assuming you didnt install andrev_oc patch. This needs to be installed as well...and the app wouldnt have started without busybox so I am sure you have that as well.
Im using this with Rogue kernel btw...but I flashed Tachi to try and get it to work. Ill post updates later.
Tiamat ROM and kernel, I don't have the andrev_oc app. Don't see it in op.

Sorry buddy. I updated OP. I just tried it on Stock ROM 3.2.1 with Tachi kernel and it works just fine so it should work with Tiamat ROM too.
Make sure you have Busybox 1.18 installed.

Anytime I try to downgrade busybox to 1.18.x my Xoom gets stuck on red M after reboot.

Busy box may be cooked into your rom. See if you can uninstall and reinstall busybox.

I've yet to notice any problems. No FC's at least
Edit: Just installed an app, uninstalled it, and updated another one. Done a bunch of browsing. No problems found so far. Mine updated from 3.1.6 in case that matters.
Won't install for me, says package with same signature already installed. Tried uninstalling market but won't let me do that either.
I tried it, wouldn't update an app that was already installed, restored 3.1.5 and it worked right off. May try it again later...
Also working fine for me. Had to push it to my folder. Can do it using es file explorer
i just used root explorer, renamed to Vending.apk, deleted old vending, put this in /system/app then clicked and installed it,
havent run into a single FC or problem.
I just installed this. It went well and I didn't have to do anything special. Looks good so far, no fc's or any issues downloading/updating my apps. Running almost stock 3.2 by ezterry.
Thanks for the headsup!
It looks nice , much better then 3.2 market but on HC 3.2 it is laggy as hell and I tried it in my new rom and installes ok.
But , but , but , laggy and conflict with finsky.apk that is working together with default a500 market 1.0.28.
The 3.3.11market doesn't update my apps like it should and the only thing you can do is delete the finsky.apk to get rid of those conflicts , google maps don't update , superuser don't update.
So I stay with 1.028 market , better layout for me and no update problems.
Thank you for this! Works perfect.

I tried to install this and it went fine..but after installing it several of my games started to FC on me. Anybody have a clue why? Is it the cache that does it? Can I wipe the cache with CWM without erasing game data?
It stopped when I installed the original marked .apk again.
I've been running this release since I saw it on Engadget. It works but it definitely has it's glitches if you just install the apk in my case. (I don't have or want root).
First of all, the app descriptions don't show up. You see an icon and the 2 or 3 buttons (open, update, uninstall or open, uninstall).
Secondly, there are 2 market app icons now. The market that is originally on the A500, v. 1.0.28 or something like that and the new one.
I'm keeping the new one because I like the auto update setting as well as not having constant notifications for updates. But just keep this in mind IF you are simply going to install by running the apk. I've had absolutely no force closes and for me there' no market lag as others have stated.

CM 12 5.0 f2fs - looking for assistance

I was able to repack the CM12 rom from the N7 Android Development forum so that it would install to all f2fs partitions... cache, data, AND system. It flashes without error and then I flash m-kernel a72 for f2fs support. The rom boots up and seems fine at first. All the default apps from the rom work except for FILE MANAGER and TERMINAL. I then flashed SuperSu beta 2.27 and root works fine. I installed System App Remover [ROOT] and it also works fine. Then I uninstalled FILE MANAGER and reinstalled it with CM app installer and it still doesn't work.
I'm pretty sure it has something to do with my updater script since I had to whip something up because the original script isn't really usable for this type of install.
If anyone who can work their way around an updater script wants to give it a shot and try to get this to install with everything working properly I can PM you a link to my repacked rom.
TIA for any help with this!
P.S. Not positive if this is the right forum for this. Please move if necessary, and sorry for any inconvenience.

Xposed for Lollipop is available

Finally, Xposed for Lollipop is now available, Rovo89 finally solved the challenge. Here is the link to main thread.
This is what I have been waiting for, now I will seriously make the move. CM12, here I come. It is still an alpha build, so expect some issues.
Apparently, it will bootloop with Samsung stockROM
Anyone got it working on our cm12? It does not for me but I'm not sure if it's just the particular modules I'm using.
Youtube adaway and network speed indicator.
Unfortuately, I'm out travelling w/o my T-900, why I can't test it for the moment. But, here are some quotes that might help:

After some extensive testing I managed to install the xposed framework. I hope my post will help others with the same problems.
1) Install the APK
2) Install SELinuxModeChanger
3) Start SELinuxModeChanger and switch to permissive.
4) Flash the framework through recovery
5) Start the xposed GUI. It will show that the framework is not installed. Select the soft reboot option in the xposed GUI, accept SU access and wait for the reboot to finish.
6) Start the xposed GUI. Now it shows no errors and you can install modules.
After each ROM upgrade you have to reinstall the framework. After each (hard)reboot you have to perform a soft reboot to activate the framework.

Xposed works fine on last cm12 nightly, I'm using Gesture Navigation and works perfect.

3/8/2015 - updated Xposed Lollipop
Just an FYI update: rovo89 just made an updated Xposed version available.
Note: both installer and arm are updated, and most issues with CM12 seem resolved.
Also multiwindow works pretty well, I have been using XHalo Floating Window's latest beta a while. Use settings
- Popup WindowPopup Dim set to 0
- Popup Behavior - check "Force New Windows in Halo"
- Activate the Movable & Resizable tab
You will also need to use Floatifications, or MultiWindowSidebar to launch your apps.
The big secret is setting your kernel to permissive, and to install the apk before flashing the arm file.

[Q][JFLTEXX] Problem with Linux Deploy.

Hello, I recently wanted to try launching Ubuntu Desktop using Linux Deploy. To avoid problems with BusyBox, I used meefik's BusyBox (people say that you have to use this version of BusyBox). I have root access and successfully installed meefik's BusyBox, however, when I try to install or anything with it related, I'm getting logs similar to this:
[time] Install >>>>
[time] <<<< Install
However, when i try to use Stericson's BusyBox, it can't find executor: ar.
May you know what's the problem?
