I am running geohots root and did a one click oden because my ringers got screwed up when doing a restore with TBu. I was looking at my baseband version today after reading about the recent upgrade to the stock SG4 and noticed that I have the following listed : I537UCUAMF1. I checked out what AT&T says I should have (or at least the latest) is : Baseband Version: I537UCUAMF3
Doing a few searches of the forums I was not able to find anything that suggested this should be the case. What do you all have?

MF1 is the pre-release version MF3 is the current version. The one-click we have is for the prerelease and will not update OTA. As of now there are no known ways to get back to MF3.. but there is no discernible difference between MF1 and MF3.
Thank you for clarifying

Hi there,
I am using a Canadian i337M on MDJ base with Rogers (RWC).
I've been having serious issues getting the modem to work using various 4.4 ROMs (specifically: MrVirgina's VirginROM link and Danvdh's Dandroid GPE link. The ROMS are both perfect and I would desperately love to use either.
I know I have to ODIN the 4.3 modem.bin and a NON-HLOS.bin. But I have tried a few methods and nothing seems to get the desired result.
Mr.Viginia suggested to anthor poster, to 1) use a 4.2.2 NON-HLOS and 2) a 4.3 Modem.bin. (link).
I have a stock 4.2.2 MDJ RWC rom, so I can get the NON-HLOS.
But I cannot find a 4.3 MDJ RWC rom to get the modem.bin.
My questions are:
1) is the approach from MrVirgina viable?
2) Do I need the modem.bin specific to MDJ, or will another work? Like MD6 from Samfirmware.
3) Assuming I need a 4.3 MDJ modem, where can I find one?
I should mention that I have been using MrVirginia's VirginROM for a few months with no issues (ver 4.3)
Please point me in the right direction. I truly appreciate your help.

Why not flash back to stock and update to 4.3?

Yes, I had considered that option, but I had a hard time finding a stock 4.3 ROM with MDJ band. Lots of 4.3 with other baseband out there, but not so much MDJ (at least that I could find).
At any rate, I was eventually successful at getting modems and sound to both work again. Although I cant remember specific order in which I did it, I used a 4.2.2 NON-HLOS with MDJ band and a 4.3 modem.bin with MK6 baseband.
Thanks again for the suggestion.
Can you post up links to the files you downloaded? I have been searching for this for at least 4 hours. Starting to drive me nuts.
Thanks in advance
Sure thing, these are the two links I used:
4.2.2 Stock ROM from GalaxyS4Root.com (link)
4.3 Stock ROM for XDA (link)
Make sure you get the correct carrier too.
I am sure there are many other out there, but these worked for me.
after updating to kitkat i have a lot of bugs:
i would like to come back as soon as possible to 4.3!!!
1) how can i do that without losing anything?
2) which is the last firmware before kitkat? (i'm italian with a ITA PHONE).
3) Were can i download the firmware?
Please note that this forum provides a search. Before posting it's always good to do a quick search :good:

Hello,
In November 2013, I installed Sacs Custom Rom 4.3 for the S4 Sprint Model SPH-L720. Since then, I have been getting updates from Samsung every 2 weeks. When I install the update, the root always needs to be repaired. After installing the update, I always have to reinstall my backup account.
My questions are:
1)What is the latest version for this particular version of the rom?
2) Is it typical to get so many updates?
3) How would I fix root rather than repairing it each time I install an update?
4) How can I permanently have the backup account stay on the device?
Thanks very much for reading

Why you don't ask in the correct thread of the creator of this custom ROM if all your questions are referred to this one? :highfive:

I saw this was the Q&A thread, so I posted here. How can I transfer this thread there?
Hi Guys!
Need some help on this thing, hope someone can clear some doubts and give me some advice too... The thins is this, I used to have a Samsung Captivate Galaxy S (Yes, hard to believe I squeeze that thing to the last drop LOL, I flashed SlimRom, wich was a pretty light ROM I think, and keep it as clean as possible always), Im from Mexico, and also Im that type of guy marketing doesnt make hard effect on me... anyway, recently a co-worker offered me this new one, at a very good price, almost brand new, so I got it.
As you can figured it out, It is a long time now since I made my last flashes, upgrades, etc... And now I want to do it again, but if possible I would like to do it the right way.
Here are my S4 settings:
Soft Version: LV720VPUFNG2
Model: SPH-L720
Android: 4.4.2
Baseband Version: L720VPUFNG2
Already Rooted and I've already installed TWRP Ver: 2.8.4.0
I got it already SIm Unlocked.
My Career Network is GSM.
The main reason I want to flash a ROM is to get rid of all the crap Samsung installs, I would like to install a light-weight (Lollipop if possible) but a with all the functions that I aleady have, like Air gesture, Screen Mirroring, Bluetooth, Wifi, etc...
So I would really appreciate if someone can advice me with one good, light-weight-clean ROM, Lollipop if possible... ( I remember back when I was flashing Captivate, SlimROMS where something like Im looking now)
Also, If a make backup before flashing and if I got problems while flashing, By reverting to my backup, Would I have it again working like it was? I mean modem, bootloader, etc.?
My main concern is to be able to back if I have a not-working flash, as this is my new and only cellphone.
Many Thanks in advance. BTW, Hope my english is understandable
No one? :/ Well, I'll keep it more simple lol
If I flash some ROM, I would have the same baseband/modem I already have right?
So if I flash for example, Exodus ROM, I'll end up with Android 5.1.1(I think thats the last one of that ROM) but keeping my baseband as it is now, NG2.
It Should work?
Please I really appreciate if someone can just clear this doubts before I proceed.
Technically speaking, Yes. You should be able to keep your baseband and modem since you're not flashing anything like that over odin, or if the ROM file itself isn't programmed to do such things.

Thanks for your answer man, and just for the last question, Do you know where I can find Stock ROMS, baseband and modems? (In case I need them)
I found this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2303917
But It looks like is not truly updated, for example I can't find my baseband version in it.
Btw, Do you know if my modem NG2? Its the last one or not? I've been searching for that info too, but can't find anything updated that I can trust.
Many thanks in advance.

This is for stock firmware's; this means it's an all-in-one stock rom that has the baseband, kernel and modem etc. all inside a single rom file.
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SPH-L720/SPR/
For latest info on your system check this
http://support.sprint.com/support/a...ServiceAdvisory_542_GKB51952-dvc7300002prd#!/
As for individual files like just single modems, kernels and basebands just search here. You'll find them, search and google are your friend. And no NG2 is no't the latest, OH1 is.
